Second time with my friend Peregrine
I had an AWESOME day yesterday. For the second time I met my friend samanthafalco. Last year we met up at Gatorland in Orlando and didn't have much time to do stuff and talk because it was at a public place with lots of people. But this time we had more time. I got up at 5am and drove out to Orlando. It was hard finding her apartment she was staying at but there was a nice guy working that took me around. Funny enough when I told him I was looking for V V he thought I said BB and took me to the total wrong side of the property. But he finally showed me where it was. This place was huge. I really hate these kinds of buildings as does Chris. It's always a pain to find the right unit and for him doing his job these kinds of places have other annoying complications. But it was all fine once I found the right place. I met her in the parking lot and gave her a rain jacket. I'm glad it fit and she liked it. I showed her what was new on my jeep from last time she saw it. I thought about taking the tops off and using the new sun shade but I didn't and I'm glad I didn't. More on that later. So then we drove back and went to Colt Creek State Park. We had a blast there. We saw lots of birds. Lots of changes have been made to the park like a gazeboo near the kayak place. There's a new horse area and an RV camping area. I was amazed how much changed since last time I was there. I offered to let her drive my jeep if she would like to. I was very happy she said yes with no hesitation, unlike ex-friend "gamara" last year that showed me terror in her eyes at the thought of it. I was happy to see no Fear and handed over the keys. I told her some of the quirks like it will not feel like a car or a truck. There is major over steer and there it feels both smooth and rough at the same time. I had her do one circle around the parking lot since there was no one else around. It was safe. I love seeing people's first reaction to driving a jeep. I was very happy she liked it. She could feel what I meant about the steering right away because it was all left turns she did. The coolest thing that happened I think was something we came across totally unexpected. We stopped over at one of the camp grounds and there was an old original 1941 Willys Jeep from WWII. It had the gun mounted on it and everything. A guy came up to me and told me they were filming a short movie. Wow, we had walked onto a movie set. Everyone was very nice and they let us go on the set. I mostly filmed but here is the cool pic I got.

I mentioned how cool this was to see a real classic and that this was my jeep's great great great great etc grandfather. Haha. He then said he had the great great great great great grandfather of my camera and showed me this.

This was just too cool. We were thrilled by all this. I took mostly video so I'll put that up at some point.

Then I took her to get food. We got Gator Bites to go at The Great Catch. We went to Publix and picked up some key lime pies. When we got home we had the gator bites, stir fried chayote, fries and for desert we had a white dragon fruit. We also taste tested an aloe mango drink. It was fun showing her a meal that was very Florida. The timing of an order I had placed on Amazon worked out perfectly too. The mail came and her gift arrived. I got her one of those creative journaling Bibles with pretty pictures inside you can color. So then we watched videos of Pastor Kim on youtube. That was a lot of fun. Then I showed her the games on my PS4. I showed her samples from Jurassic World Evolution, Saints Row 4 with Scary Fear, Dragon's Dogma with all my characters and Plague Inc Evolved. I'm very happy that Chris came home early too though he only had an hour with us. He got to play a little guitar for her. But finally she met him. It amused me how she said he was taller than she imagined. Yeah he's very tall. OH I also showed her my computer and my art and how I make art. I showed her some photoshop tricks and some of the stuff I was working on for my next pics. I also showed her my gardens and all the neat plants I grow. Then I had to drive back to Orlando to drop her back off. I was hoping to make it back home before it got dark but I didn't. The ride home could have been better. I'll make another post on that later.

I got home safely and I was beat. I'm still beat today. But we had so much fun. I had a great time. My voice did get tired like it does when I have so much fun with friends. But then I found out poor Chris has a cold. We went to bed.

Got up this morning and I told him he should stay home. He worked while sick and was in no condition to go out. That's ok I'd take care of him. So it was like another day off for us. I made hims soups, bought supplies today and also took care of sick Bullet. My two favorite patients. Poor things. I'm still beat too and taking it easy as well. We watched movies and youtube videos. We've been watching a lot of Austrailan Dash Cam. We love those. Funny enough though it's all bad examples of what not to do, we're finally starting to understand how to drive in Australia. Although I still don't understand round abouts and think they are scary and there are way too many over there. Luckily there are few in the US as we have intersections. The rest of the world should take note. Europe sucks when it comes to round abouts. Perhaps one day they'll modernize their streets.

So these past two days have been great for me.

The day from Peregrine's point of view.

This is awesome that you met up with samanthafalco again. It sounds like a very good day from beginning to end. So many cool things like seeing the Willys Jeep! And showing her your plants, how you do some of your art and that Chris got to play her some guitar.

Poor Chris getting a cold but lucky him to have you to look after him. I hope he gets better soon and that you get over your big day yesterday soon as well.

Oh, forgot to mention, roundabouts make it much quicker than lights. When our first roundabout came to my local town, most people didn't know how to use it. It's also a favourite trick testers can use when someone is taking their driver's test...or was, when No 3 son took his test.

We had a blast for sure. I can't believe it about the Willys and seeing a movie set. It was all so fun.

Chris is doing better now. He was well enough to go to work today. I'm recovered now too. We both needed yesterday to just do nothing.

They might be quicker but not safer. Half the videos on that channel are on round abouts. I'd rather have traffic lights that tell me when it's safe. But you still have to watch out for idiots no matter where you are in the world.

It was an awesome day you had together.

Down time is always good. My No 1 daughter had a cold and has had a busy week, including working last night, so she was having a rest day, some of it in bed (her back is bad), while it rained outside.

Haha roundabouts have different rules depending on the roundabout. You should see a couple of confusing ones we go through on the way to and coming back from No 3 daughter's! I wouldn't say they were dangerous, though. I've never seen an accident on one. And people can and do drive through red lights, so nowhere's 100% safe.

That's a neat old Jeep. I'm glad you had fun with Peregrine, and I enjoyed our phone conversation yesterday.

The town I grew up in in Indiana has lots of roundabouts now. They switched most of the dangerous intersections to roundabouts after having a lot of wrecks. We have enough of them here that I know how they work. You only drive to the right on a roundabout so when you get on it's a right turn and when you get off it's a right turn. I guess it would be backwards in Australia because they drive on the left.

Yeah. It had three sticks. I have no idea how you'd drive it. Chris said three ways to drive it haha.

I hate round abouts. Traffic may flow more but they are not safer. Yes in Australia they go to the left. And when it's more than one lane it's really confusing.

It's so nice to finally sit down and read this after not having a lot of access to the internet. I had such a great time with you that day and it was easily my favorite part about my vacation.

We'll definitely have to look out for that documentary when it comes out. I know he said it was about a soldier who found a Yorkshire terrier in a foxhole so with the plot in mind it should be easier to find. I forgot if we asked when it was expected to come out though.

Oh no I'm sorry to hear Chris got sick. I hope he's better now and I hope Bullet's doing better. I was happy to see her playing when I was at your house.

I'm very glad to see you too. I was worried when we lost communication for a while there. I'm glad it was your best day. That makes me very happy. Yes I want to see that just because we were there. They didn't tell us when it was due out and I noticed they didn't tell us the name of the movie on purpose. We'll just have to keep checking for it and hope we don't miss it.

It's ok. He's fully recovered now. Bullet is not doing well though. I'm glad she was a bit active when you met her.
