Tomorrow's the day

I haven't posted in a few days mostly because there hasn't been much interesting stuff to talk about. The days have been good but mostly I've been doing the same; packing and planning for my trip. Tomorrow I leave for Miami. Chris and I will stay over night at a hotel. This is another Aloft like the one I enjoyed so much in Virginia that's geared towards techies. It's we're not too tired we'll go on one of those boat tours to see the houses of celebrities. I love that ride. I've done it several times in the past and last time I took Chris for our first wedding anniversary. Back then we had film cameras and the photos we took weren't so great. This was back around 2005 I think. But now we can do it so much better. I hope Shaquil O'Neil still owns the one house because it was so funny he had a bobble head statue of himself on the dock so everyone would know he lived there. The other must see is Scarface's house. So that would be nice to do again after more than a decade.
HA I found a pic of the Shaq statue on the dock.

Well I'm rather disappointed but I think I won't be taking the new backpack I bought on my trip. There's nothing wrong with it. I can tell it's a great pack. The problem I didn't take into account is myself. I am to weak to carry it. I'm very disappointed as I was looking forward to using it. The lowest weight I could get it to was 14 lbs. I can't leave out anything else, well other than the bird book. The bird book does weigh 1 pound and makes a huge difference but I need it as I don't know the birds of Europe like I know North American birds. But anyway the rest are clothes, toiletries, meds and electronics. I did divide up most of the electronics into a smaller bag that would be a personal item. That helped reduce the weight some but still wasn't enough. I practiced and my back hurt that night. So I'm taking my blue suitcase with wheels that I always take. I know it's carry on size and has always served me well. I got one of those TSA approved bags for the few liquids I will be taking. Just a lotion and some med gels like neosporin itch cream. I hope that won't be a problem going through security.

So then I leave for Spain on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to this. Not sure what to expect as I'm mostly along for the ride but we'll see. I'm sure it will be good. I probably will have internet while I am there but just like this past week I'll only be here on LJ, Youtube, email and possibly flickr. It sucks today is Labor Day. This holiday screwed up my plans to go to the bank and I'm still waiting for a check to clear. It's been very annoying. Seems there are too many stupid holidays that disrupt the mail and banks when I most need them. I'm not sure where I can convert my dollars to euros now on such short notice since banks open on the day I leave. But I'll still be in Florida so that will be good. I also didn't get my phone in order. I wanted to see if my provider offers a prepaid plan for over seas so I can text here without being charged on my main account. If not I'll just have to do without and either put my phone in airplane mode the whole time or just not have it on at all. I think airplane mode means you can only use offline apps like my unit converter and camera which will be helpful anyway. Tonight I have to empty memory cards again and get all that ready to go so I still have much to do. I made progress on the Fear plush. I don't know if I'll have time to work on him today but I had a mistake happen with the green part of his mouth and have to redo that all over again. So much for having him done in time. Guess I'm still taking the purple version of Scary Fear with me. At least he has his wings.

jokerforever, hope all is well with you. I know there is still flooding in your town.
There was one more thing I wanted to mention but can't remember now. I'll edit if I do.
OH it's that todays a 4th so another anniversary for us. Total time is now 21 years and 7 months. We'll celebrate tomorrow since Chris has to work today. That's crazy and it sure doesn't feel like it.
