Yesterday was quite the busy day. I got nearly all the plants outside but three. So all the nepenthes, hoyas and ceropegia are out finally. Just three pots to go. Oh gosh speaking of pots there's an annoying problem I have now. You guys know I had found a great source to order hanging baskets with hooks from a few years ago. But the original hooks got brittle in the sun. The new ones are stupidly shorter so when you latch them to the pots you can't get them off once they are on. I HATE this. Why would they go and change a design that worked so well? I noticed some of the hangers had spirals. They still work and are by a different company called Teku. Unfortunately you can't order from them. I looked. I think you can only buy huge orders by the truck load. I hate places like that. I want only 20 at most. There are some pretty ones on Ebay but they are only over seas in Australia and they don't ship to the US. I like the Teku hangers because they come in colors other than white and dark green. So what I had to do was go to Walmart and buy hanging baskets of plants I don't even want just to get the pots and hangers. I think I will buy two per month and slowly build up my inventory. Sucks I have to do it this way as I can't order them from anywhere.
And the second headlight finally arrived yesterday. They are wonderful. I took some footage and need to put a video together now. I was able to install them myself and unlike the cheap Chinese ones I got last time I can tell right away when I turned them on these are super high quality. The light is white not blue and I can tell I won't be blinding other drivers with these. I have yet to test them at night but I think they'll do great. And they look more like eyes so they look amazing on the Gladiator Grille. I'm proud of myself for having installed them pretty much on my own too. Getting the old headlights off was hard because they were stuck. And these went on easily. I had to use an adaptor because the plugs aren't the same and also because it's an antiflicker housing as Jeeps have problems with LED lights.
Ok so here are some pics. I'm going to copy the descriptions I put on DA.
These are the new soaps. This was at a Walgreens in North Carolina. I went with :iconactipton80: and we were thrilled to see all these new colors and scents as opposed to the normal white and pink that's been around for ages. As you see I bought the green cucumber one on the way up. When I came back south I bought one of each and we had fun opening them and smelling them. The pear had the best color, aqua, but terrible scent. I don't care for pears. The orange had the best scent to me after the cucumber. I need to take pics of all the colors out of their boxes. These have finally hit the shelves in Florida. I had not seen them in any other state but NC and we just got them here as well as all these scents for body wash and deodorant. I don't know I just found it so amusing. I'm easily amused and things like this make me happy.
Was screwing around on my tablet's Art Flow. I think that's the name of the program. I'm not used to doing 100% digital and was drawing this on the screen. It's not finished. Don't know if it will be but I might draw it on paper and do it my usual way in photoshop since I like his pose and expression.
I visited CVersailles in Montreal and we were thrilled we had the same camera. How did that happen? Canon Powershot SX60 HS.
I was driving and :icongamma-wings: took this photo not far from my hotel in Ottawa. We like cars that look like they belong in a gangster movie.
My Jeep parked outside my window and door at Rideau Heights Inn Ottawa. As those of you that read my LJ know I had to start parking away from my door because my Jeep was causing conventions to gather. People were sitting on my window sill and talking about my Jeep. I was getting so pissed and hadn't realized why this was happening. It happened in NY too. I really had not clue. I kept wondering why they didn't congregate somewhere else as there were so many other doors to stand in front of. Why mine? My Jeep is a celebrity and I just don't think like one. I'm still a total introvert. I finally realized when I was getting ready to leave one morning and an Asian family of at least 7 people were standing by my door, in the street and all around. Sigh. But they were all happy and then I figured it out. Yes I know it will be worse once I turn him into Jurassic Park. Haha. The reason I parked next to my door at hotels was so I can keep an eye on my car if someone got closed and tried anything funny. Guess that plan backfired.
I loved this quaint hotel in Ottawa. Was worth the price of all the days I stayed there. If I return I will stay here again. I'm glad I didn't stay at the one by the airport.
This was the worst hotel I stayed in but it was nice to have my Jeep right there. But this is when I noticed people starting to congregate around him and I had no idea why. Get off my window people!
I had to look up this plant. They were everywhere by the river in NY state. I love them. So beautiful. Found out they are an introduced species from Europe brought here about 200 years ago. I'm glad of that.
I had chosen the one hotel because of this lovely river. The place sucked but I was happy with the amazing scenary.
I LOVE hooking up my computer to TV's in hotels and seeing my art so huge. This looked amazing and the photo doesn't do it justice. I don't know why it came out so bad. This was the Aloft in Winchester VA. They are very techy and even had a custom box where you could hook up your electronics and hdmi cables to make things easy. No other place has done that.
So I'm almost recovered from my trip. I had a good time and I'm already making plans for the next one which will be to visit actipton80 in NC again to go see the Eclipse in Aug. Chris is coming too so I'm trying to work out the schedule. We'll probably need a week.
