Oh so much exciting stuff. I'm about half way done with packing too. This time I started early like I promised myself the last few times. I always said I would but end up freaking out last minute the night before. That causes for a night of no sleep and sucks the following morning. Not this time. So I am sure I will be done by packing in time for Friday morning.
I hate my mail man. I have two packages I'm waiting for that are supposed to be delivered today. It even says they are out for delivery but I already got the mail and it was one piece of junk. One is my new camera bag so he has it on the truck but is probably ignoring it. And the headlights last update said they left Dallas Tx yesterday. Dallas isn't that far as far as deliveries go. In theory they could arrive tomorrow but the date says the 3rd which means I'll miss them by a day.
I'm getting used to my new contacts. But I think my eyes have changed again. The bifocal part doesn't work. I still can't see close and had to get stronger reading glasses. So I'm going to try contacts and reading glasses. Having the trouble the legs of the glasses are too thin for the holders. Those little string things as I like to wear them around my neck for when I need them. But it's great seeing far away so clearly. When I come back I'll have to make an appointment for another test and so will Chris since his glasses don't work anymore either.
My friend CVersailles told me there's been a lot of rain in Canada so I got myself a nice new Rain Jacket today. Went to Dick's sports and took advantage of the Memorial Day Sale. They had a nice one by Colombia called Arcadia II in my fave turquoise. So if I need a rain jacket with a hood I'm now prepared. I also picked up an extra set of Boots for Chris at Walmart. He loved the ones I got him last time and I want a back up pair for when these eventually break AND to ward off against the discontinued curse I have. I need to update my list of discontinued stuff I have lots more to add to it that's so annoying. I let my bank know about my trip today too so there should be no problems using my card outside of the country. I'm very excited about this trip when I think I'm following one of the major migration routes of north America. I'm going up and down the Eastern Flyway. Too bad I'm not actually traveling with the birds. I'm listening to the theme song of the documentary Flight of the Snow Geese. The song is Fly High And Free. I had to rip the song from the VHS I have to get the complete version of it. It's one of those things that chokes me up. One of those very rare things that produces a strong emotion in me. The reason I love birds so much is because as a very young child, as a baby; I remember being like 2 or 3, and wishing so badly to fly of my own power. And at that young I knew I never could and wanted so much to be a bird. So as a young child I did the only thing I could. I channeled that love into birds to live through them. My last car was nicknamed "my wings" and now Alan my jeep is my wings and I have been flying free now more than ever. I'm still literally chasing those birds though trying to fly with them. This documentary was filmed in the 70s long before Winged Migration claimed it was the first to film and follow migrating birds. They lie. This film was the first and it is incredible.
So yes lots of exciting stuff going on. Oh one thing though. I've stopped working on the Fear Plush for now. There's NO WAY I can finish in time for the trip. I'm still in the destruction phase of this. At most what I can try to do is make a new blue shirt for the current Fear and he will travel with me. But because of the stupid mess in the house his wings have gotten lost. I've got 3 days for figure out where they went. Not cool.
