Packing, rocking out, gardening and other good stuff
Today's been very good and productive. Chris didn't have to work and he helped me pack up a bunch of stuff. We got all the DVDs packed up and most of our massive CD collection. But silly me in the packing frenzy I've been in I packed up my best mp3 metal mixes of Kalmah, Graveworm and my Thagirion Soundtrack. I had to remake the Thagirion soundtrack the other day because I didn't have it to listen to anymore. And now that most of the original CDs are packed I had to rip the newest Graveworm Collateral Defect. So I made an updated mp3 disk today and instead of having it all in alphabetical order I decided to do what Chris has been doing and put it on there by albums. I never knew you could burn them as files and then the player would play each file then go to the next. Duh! How cool is that? So that's what I'm listening to now is my Graveworm mix. That reminds me. I need to add Collateral Defect to my sidebar for what's currently playing.

So then we went out and rented a space for storage. I drove around yesterday looking at different places and finally chose one I liked because of the size, height of ceiling, security, surveillance, price and how helpful the staff was. I talked to the lady that worked there yesterday and when she found out I like dinosaurs and Jurrasic Park we started chatting a lot. She told me I need to go visit Dinosaur World and I really should. I've driven past it many times but never have gone. I told her I worked at the science museum for four years and got to meet some famous paleontolgists there. She was happy to see me when we came again today and I introduced Chris to her. She took us back there and showed us the place again and gave us our lock before we filled out any paperwork or even paid. She told me she doesn't do that but for me she made an exception because she'd enjoyed my company. I love hearing stuff like that from people.

We came back home, packed some more then spent some quality time together during a big thunderstorm. I love storms. They are so beautiful. I like them best right before they hit because they are a dark blue and the darkness makes the trees or the grass shine a bright green. It's the best when white birds fly in front of these clouds because they seem to glow. Our six baby trees are doing great! We're definitely taking them with us when we move. But I've kinda let my garden go to Hell. I'm not taking anything else with me from it and it's sad because I did put so much effort into it just to let it die. But I'm already thinking about the one we'll have in our new home. It's about looking forward and not looking back. The new one will be way better. Ah, so tomorrow I need to pack my gardening tools and supplies. All my poisons hehe.

I've added two new icons. The one I'm using now is appropriate because after talking with fireraider I'm really in a metal mood now. That and Chris bought me these awesome dark chocolate rice sticks. They have rice crispies in them. They are delicious and full of caffinee. It's like eating solid coffee. And I do love my coffee black. I don't remembe where I found this or who that even is. I should remake this icon with someone like King Diamond instead. I'm not a fan of black and white. But I'd probably have to photoshop him since there aren't any pics of him holding up a coffee mug. Speaking of the album Collateral Defect. I really like it. I can look past the doom like depressing lyrics. I've noticed they've gone from the spiritual to the political theme which I don't care much for. But if they sound good I can look past it. Kalmah is VERY political and they are my favorite. Well one thing I love about Graveworm is that they usually cover an American pop song and it's so funny yet cool at the same time in the black style. In this album they've covered Bonnie Tyler's I Need A Hero. Everytime I hear this I think of Shrek because it was played in the second movie. But now I see it as part of the soundtrack for Shrek but sung by Thagirion. HAHA, go figure that. I've been trying to track down the version of Engraved In Black that has the Petshop Boy's cover It's a Sin. I love the way Gamma Ray covered it and to hear Graveworm do it would be so awesome! But that's been a very hard album to find. I have the rip off version with no bonus songs. Pppttthhhurrrbbb!! Oh and you'll have to go in my icon page to see the Anomalocaris icon.

Ok so after that we went out again and picked up more tupperware boxes for packing. I needed them mostly for my huge book collection. I bought some smaller ones but they are still too big. I filled one up and well let's just say it's real heavy. So I need to go back and try to exchange them for a half size. I kept almost all my text books from college and most of my science books are hardcovers which make things really heavy. This isn't going to be good. But I kind of am looking forward to packing them because I can arrange them in order better not only by subject but also put the books I reference most all in one box. I've got a whole bunch of little pet bird books that are nice but I don't really use that need to be kept separate in the less used section.

We've also been watching the Planet Earth DVDs. Tonight we watched the Fresh Water episode and I liked that a lot. I love rivers and I love piranhas so it was cool them talked about them. Oh and Chris was going through our old recoreded VHS tapes and found our wedding tape. I'm so glad because we had lost it. That's one I have to transfer to DVD soon. As in before I pack up the DVD player/recorder. I watched a little bit of it and it's so nice. What a special and beautiful day that was. So as you see today was packed. Very little time was wasted. I hope tomorrow will be as good.

Re: Hails
Ah ok. Well welcome then. I looked at your profile and see we do have a few things in common. So you're in Australia? That's really cool. Most of my friends here are international. I'm in Florida. Australia is one place I hope to visit one day. Are there any budgies in the south?

Re: Hails
Yeah, not normally wild, but pretty much every Australian has had a budgie as a pet at some point. I had one when I was 8 but my little sister let it out of the cage, never to be seen again : (

Florida is one of the places I want to visit - unfortunately, however, I've never even left my time zone, let alone the country. Is the place still producing good local DM, or was that more of a surge in the late '80s?

Re: Hails
I'm very much budgie obsessed. It's funny because when most people think of Australia they think of Kangaroos or Koalas but I think of budgies. I want to go to the desert and see the flocks of wild budgies one day.

Natural Florida is beautiful. Last year for my anniversary we went to the Everglades and it was gorgeous! I've traveled quite a bit with Europe being the furthest I've ever gone, but I've never been as far as Australia. I've wanted to visit there since I was a kid. That and South America would be awesome! I will do it one day.

DM? You mean Depech Mode? Yeah I think it was pretty much mostly 80s. My friend Cheezey could tell you better what they've been up to if anything.

Haha, Depeche Mode... I was actually talking about Death Metal, but that works too I guess haha.

Re: Hails
Oops my bad. Hehe, I should have known what you meant. Oh yeah we still have some death metal bands coming out of Florida. Don't know what the latest is but we've had some great bands like Savatage, Iced Earth and Kamelot from here.
