Progress
Yesterday, Chris's friend Eric came over to help us move stuff from the other house. After two failed attempts we finally found a place to rent a truck from. We went to the other house and were able to get almost everything out that's mine. We only left the large and small cabinets because they could not be carried out by only two people. I'm considering not keeping the smaller wider one. It's a shame because it's beautiful Chinese carvings on it but it's so big I just don't know where I'm going to put it in our house. The other one is delicate because of the glass. Though I just had an idea typing this. I wonder if the doors can be taken off that way it won't be so delicate? I could rent or borrow a small trailer and would just need help to get it in the trailer from some people. Getting them into our house would still be an issue though.

So we brought home the curio cabinet the other bed and the couches. The new bed is nice and much better for my back. I slept fairly well last night. The other thing I'm happy about is I did very well on this outing. I did better than my last one and didn't start to hurt til much later. Also yesterday was the first time I drove since my surgery. I drove Chris's truck since he had to return the big one. It was just a five minute drive but I did it and I'm proud of that. This morning I feel pretty good energy and pain wise so I certainly have recovered way better than when we went to the beach. I relapsed after that and was pretty bad for about three days. I'm going to take it easy today, maybe I can finally work on some art today. We'll see. Chris has the small loveseat in his room now and I think that will be great for him. We plan to rearrange the bedroom eventually so we'll see if that works out for the better or not. I'm not up for normal drives just yet but I think that if I have to go somewhere I should be able to. I think I'm on the mend finally.

I'm glad things are coming along. I hope you don't have any more relapses, but I knew that you would take a long time to recover from that surgery.

Thanks. Me too. I was reminded I'm not fully recovered yesterday because I got very weak despite having eaten. But I'm loads better from when this all started.

Well, glad to hear you got some stuff out of this at least, like a new and nice bed and a loveseat for Chris. But, I can imagine the difficulties of having too little space for some of the other neat things. Space is always the one important factor.
However, it is also good you are recovering and are able to drive now again. It certainly is good that you also relax however, as you do need the recovery in the end. But, it is a progress on two sides.

Yes it's definitely good to have gotten all of this. Now I have to start focusing on getting rid of my mother's stuff; either sell, give or trash it. Those are always the three categories. Just like when I emptied the house.
Not fully recovered and can't really drive normal long distances yet but I'm working up to it. Yes definitely making progress.

I'm glad you two finally found a truck to rent and got most of your stuff. I know you really needed a new bed, so that is a plus.

Good on you for driving your truck and the fact that you're not so tired and sore proves you are on the mend. It takes time and waiting that time can be frustrating, but I can see improvements, so give it a couple of weeks more and you should be back to normal, more or less.

Typing things out can give you time and space to work things out and I think that's a genius solution you have come up with. But, for the other big item of furniture, if there's nowhere to put it, then it's not much use having it.
