21st Anniversary
So yesterday was our 21st anniversary and we went out to Gandy Beach. I'm so thankful I had strength to walk around for a good amount of time. We got there at low tied and checked out the tide pools. The day was just amazing.

We found these blobs. At first we thought they were jellyfish. But they were tethered. See the circle? There were several in the sand. Jellyfish don't dig, burrow or anchor like this. This is most likely the egg sac of a a Lugworm or some kind of marine worm. They were very cute and pretty.

There was a nest of ospreys and this one was flying around with this huge branch for its nest. There was a third one trying to steal it and after this was placed in the nest they had an areal battle. It was amazing being there to see that.

We went to the other side. I love this wall. We sat on it and just watched. We saw so much neat stuff it was incredible. There was a young female anhinga just preening so calmly. She was adorable. We saw a small sting ray swim by. A bit later a dolphin showed up. Probably a male as it was alone. We also saw a big tan shadow in the water that was likely a big nurse shark. Not sure but that was so exciting.

The loons are down for the winter. This is a red throated loon. But they are in winter plumage so no pretty colors like red throats. They were diving and bobbing on the waves. So cute.

Here is the dolphin and the cute anhinga.

And the anhinga has just slowly scratching all up and down her long head. So cute. Wasn't afraid of us at all. Chris took all these pics. There were lots of other birds too like egrets, herons, starling and grackles. But these were the most exciting things we saw. The sting ray pic didn't turn out so great. Hard to photograph underwater animals.

After that we tried out a new restaurant on the water called Hula Bay Club. The wait was long but we liked the food and atmosphere. But I did over do it and today I'm hurting. In fact I need to get off the computer after this post. But we had an amazing time.

This beach looks awesome! My dad's best friend is down in Florida right now (I think Naples), but his condo in New Port Richey is along a canal and dolphins go in there all the time. When my dad had to go down there to help him out after surgery, my dad went on a kayak his friend had on the canal and the dolphin were following him. I would love to see wild dolphins one day. Anhingas are really nice and I like how that one was so calm.

It's very small on one of the bridges across the bay but it's lovely. One of my faves. Oh ok. I think that's south of us. New Port Richey is closer. That's very cool. I'd love to see something like that too. There are lots of dolphins here I'm sure you'd see one. I loved this one. She was so cute and calm.
