What I have been up to
Long time no update. Things have been going good for the most part. The only bad thing that's got me upset is a very good friend just vanished out of nowhere with no warning. I'm very angry even though it's only been two days and so are many of my friends that feel betrayed and abandoned. But that will get its own post later on.

So yes I just did a review of the new Doom game. I love it and have art and a story going inspired by that, though I'm fighting an art block that I can feel wants to set in. It is that time of year when I tend to stop drawing. I hope I can resist.

So I'm getting ready for my visit to my friend ACTipton80 in July. Nearly everything is squared away. Found a place to watch our birds but not the chickens. I'm still searching for someone that can take care of them as I'd rather not leave them on automatic feeders and water. Though Mike is out of town that week perhaps we can put the chickens in his place if he has an extra cage. Second option is perhaps leaving them at Chris's cousin's though he lives 2 hours away from us. I'd gladly drive the chickens there if I had a working vehicle.

Plants are all doing well. That one that was so bad last year has totally bounced back with a fury. It's gotten huge and is making lovely little orange flowers everywhere. The amorphs have all come up and are doing great. No flower this year but I do have a giant tree in the house that's very cool. Some of my nepenthes are pitchering beautifully so that's good.

We went kayaking last week at a new spot and it was nice. We've been thinking about new kayaks. Chris isn't happy with his. I love mine but they are cheap beginner kayaks. I'd like to get the Tetra model by Ocean Kayak as that's mostly what we do. Kayak on the ocean. I love my little boat but don't trust it for an open water crossing and one of my dreams is to go out to Anclote key which is 3 miles away in the Gulf. You can see it from land but yeah I'd still rather have a more sea worthy craft for that. It's a bit scary to think about but I really want to do it one day. I'd be giving up my super light weight boat though so that is one thing I would regret. A new one would not be one I could move by myself.

EDIT: Potential Kayaks to look into

Good to 'hear' from you.

It is a problem when going away, who to get to look after the chooks. My neighbour Supermarket man didn't do a very good job last time. Mr Cleverhands does a stirling job. If I didn't have to leave on such short notice last time I would have had more time to make better arrangements. Yeah, leaving them on automatic feeders and waterers is all very good, except that someone needs to check on them every day just to make sure the system is still working. Godo luck in finding a solution to that. And have a great time at ACTipton80's!

Great to hear your garden is doing so well. Those amorphs must look awesome.

Kayaks do seem to be quite expensive here - even second hand. But then people do go out in Pumicestone Passage, so you'd want a good one for that. Yeah, losing the lght weight one would not be good. I hope Chris gets a good quality one this time. And I wish you many happy hours paddling!

Yeah I know I haven't posted much.

Yes it's bad timing both me and Mike will be out of town at the same time. It's important to get the right people to do the job right. I wouldn't be able to relax with an automatic system. But I'm soo looking forward to going on this trip.

I'll have to post a video. The tree in the house is pretty cool.

I'd rather buy a new kayak that I know hasn't had repairs or holes. So hopefully we can find a nice new one. I looked up Pumicestone Passage. It is similar to this situation. Here's info on kayaking to Anclote Key.

That's all right. I know you have been busy an dA and in your garden and gaming.

That would be cool if you could post pics of you giant tree in the house!

I thought you'd look up Pumicestone Passage. Yes, very similar to Anclote Key. Both national Parks. That's cool that you can get free camping!

I never thought about the safety or otherwise of kayaks. The ones I have seen for sale here seem okay, but I haven't looked closely. They do seem to hold their value. My neighbour has one and she has gone in Pumicestone Passage, although she was quite nervous about it. She was going with her group. I have another friend who has a kayak. I know she has been in baroon Pocket Dam but don't know the other places she has gone. Somewhere up Noosa way and other places.

I need to think of stuff to do while you are here.

I hope you can find a bird sitter for the chickens.

I wouldn't mind doing some of the same things again. No worries and we wouldn't mind a day at your house of peace and quiet to recover. Everything would be new for Chris. He loves the photos of Daniel Stowe and I definitely want to go back to the university. Want to go back to your raptor center too so that's a full 3 of our 5 days already.

Yeah I have two options. If Mike has an extra cage perhaps his sitter can take care of them. If not perhaps Chris's cousin though it's a 2 hour drive there.
