Goofing around wasting time.
Well I decided to try and see if I was ready to go back to my computer. I sat in the chair with and without the cushion. Nothing helped and I felt my back getting stiff again. I did some photoshop stuff but that will be all since I am so much better and don't want to make myself bad again. Took me 4 months to recover and can't set myself back now.

But I was bad because I was supposed to scan and ink the new drawing of George for his birthday. I didn't. Instead I started working on the stary night sky pic. I finished the tree that I couldn't do on the lap top and added a few more plants to the ground. But then I hit a huge problem. The main part. The stars. I'm stuck I can't do it. The tutorials I have aren't working for me because they are stars in outer space where the background is all black. I already have a background. Here's what I need to set the stars on.

I tried using the noise technique and that didn't work because I'm working on a canvas over 3000 px wide. The noise is too tiny to separate into stars either with brightness and contrast, levels or cloud layer. I also tried a scatter brush and that was a disaster. This is really frustrating. Looks like I'm going to have to do it the hard way and put in each star with the mouse. That's tons of clicking on a huge wide canvas. I don't know how else to do it for this sky so if anyone can help me please I'm open to suggestions. And I wasted time doing that instead of working on George. I haven't started inking him yet. Bad.

I loved working on my computer where my tablet has no issues and the keyboard and the tablet are all within easy reach. But yeah I'm not ready to go back until I can find a chair that works and I don't think any in the house do. It rained and I put all the water plants out in the pond. It looks very nice. I potted up the one Sarracenia. It's so tiny. Gosh I hope it will grow to full size soon. Looks like a two year old plant. I got a new Nepenthes in the mail today. A hybrid called Nepenthes St. Pacifica. It is a cross between ventricosa and insignis which is one of the largest pitchers. I love ventricosa so I hope this will do well in the heat of Florida and grow fast. Right now it doesn't look like anything. Just a big plant with no pitchers. Can't wait for pitchers to start to form on it.

I got a luffa planted in the ground and I removed the nets from the sunflowers. I think they are safe from the chickens at this point. Well that's all for now. I'll take a break then I should start to ink George.

EDIT: Some names I'm seriously considering for my hens.

Yes that's more names than chickens. Still searching for more options. I like having options.

Current Mood: Confused

I'm loving all those names!

I guess you'll have to stay off your computer until you can get a chair that works for you. There's no way you would want to set yourself back at all! It sucks that youcan't use the programs that you would like. I don't have any suggestions about the stars, either, as I don't do digial art.

And I guess with art we all do what we feel like doing - where the inspiration hits.

Yes I think I'm going to have some nice ones to pick from.

Yeah, I'm not going to use any of the chairs they all were bad for me. I definitely need to recover. I was doing great and need to be good for this year.

It's quite a shame with your back. And that the type of chair that would be optimal is not the common one you can get at Stables or other shops that sell those... at least I think you mentioned that before.

Well, what can't be done can't be done. I guess George might have to wait this one out. And... well, stars are quite a thing. I hope you can figure out something or someone can help you here.

Nephentes St. Pacifica sounds like it's going to have quite sizeable pitchers.

I like all those names, Pumpkin and Gourd specifically. But Mango and Lemon also are quite high on the list.

Well I think I will recover taking it easy and not using those chairs. I'm not well today but I can tell it's slightly better. Yeah it's not going to be easy finding the right one for me.

I'm working on it now. I might get it done in time. We'll see. I solved the star problem I think. I found a star brush. I just have to try it.

Yes, I hope it will grow large and make awesome pitchers.

Me too. I'm also liking Luffa. It's the right color for a Salmon chicken.

I like those chicken names. Loquat makes me laugh.

You got a new Nepenthes. Cool. I went to UNCC today. I bought a Thai basil at the plant sale, but I went and looked at all the neat plants in the greenhouses. I saw all their pretty big Nepenthes and other plants that I will write about when I post next.

Yeah fruit names are kind of funny.

I hope it will be one of my really nice ones. Oh that's great you went. I will look for your post soon then.

I have a technique to make stars which may help. I basically make the brush make separated dots instead of one straight line. In order to do that, you go to "brush" (which should be on the right in the column between the canvas and the brushes/swatches). It'll be indicated by a brush icon. At the bottom it gives you the option "spacing", if you move the arrow off to the right then you should see that the line gets separated into dots. And that's how I make stars without having to draw each dot separately.

It's too bad that you can't go back to your main computer chair yet, though it's a good thing that you've mostly recovered after those 4 months.

Ah, thanks. I will try that. I added too many effects in the brush menu like scatter and a few others. I'll try it with just spacing. I also found a star brush so I'll try both ways and see what happens. Thanks I was hoping you'd reply to this.

Yeah it's very annoying. I miss my cool computer. But I value my health too much right now. I need to recover again though it's not so bad as before but sucks I can't sit in any of my chairs I had.
