Bullet and cameras
So tomorrow I get to post the last chapter of Innocence Lost. One big long chapter. I'll probably do an author's notes for this too.

Bullet is sitting on two eggs last time I looked. I doubt they are fertile as I don't think she ever mated with Sandwich. Too soon to tell. They can be candled in five days. One's already dirty as she threw out all the shavings. I'll have to put them back in and hope she doesn't throw them away again.

Here's Bullet looking in the box before she threw out all the shavings.

Here she is on her eggs.

I had a nice dream last night. I was working at this hotel and Owen was there. He worked with me and handle talking to the customers something he was good at. I didn't want to deal with people. There were these windows that bowed out like a box window and it was a lovely view outside. It became night and I looked up and saw a meteorite. It was lovely. I told Owen to hurry and join me outside. So we ran out to the front. All these meteorites streaked by. It was so lovely. But then more and more started to come. Too many. They were small so there was no danger of the city being destroyed but they were disintegrating and dust was raining down. I couldn't look up anymore it was hurting my eyes. "Look down and back inside!" Owen yelled. I covered my eyes with my hands and we ran back into the building. It was a bit scary and then we tried watching from the window instead.

That's all it was. I know Owen's an ass and I write and draw him as such a nasty person. He is. But I'm fascinated how in my dreams he's always like this with me. A friend and a protector. I'm always happy when he shows up.

I'm a bit frustrated with my camera situation. I know my DSLR is awesome but the problem is the weight. I knew that would be an issue. My back hurts and I can't use it very long. I can't imagine how I'll do if I ever get the lens I want. I don't like using tripods. I'm a bird photographer and my subjects are in motion. My favorite thing is trying to capture birds in flight. My little point and shoot is a 16x which leaves me frustrate with the lack of reach. I found out that 55mm is about normal human eyesight. So if you look through this lens see what you'd see without it. Also my little point and shoot seems grainier now. The photos just don't come out nice. I managed to get two nice shots of flying vultures but didn't upload them because they looked so grainy. The quality on my DSLR is so nice of course. I'm frustrated by my physical limits and the limits of my small camera. Chris's camer is awesome. It's in between a small and a big DSLR and the best thing is his awesome zoom lens. What I don't like about his camera is the eye piece. I don't think you can get decent flying bird pics with the screen. It's very hard and I found this out with my video camera and my point and shoot when I couldn't find birds in the screen when I zoomed in. I could see them with my eyes but couldn't find them in the camera. I don't have this problem with binoculars or an eye piece. But the eye piece on Chris's camera is terrible for those that use glasses and contacts. The focus ring doesn't go far so you can't fix the image for someone with bad eye sight like me. I can't tell if the image is in focus or not as it's always blurry anyway. I wish it were a lens view and not a digital screen too. I think his camera would be perfect for me if it weren't for that.

I have the new SX60 HS has fixed this problem AND even added a port for a mic which was another flaw of the SX50 HS. But the 60 is new and very expensive. More than my gopro costs. So yeah that's the problem and I hate how the point and shoot cameras are like disposable cameras. After about four years they get grainy and you need a new one. Hopefully next day off we can go to Best Buy so I can see what's out on the market right now. Perhaps I should consider a Sony. Maybe they have what Canon can't offer me. Nikon is a NO. I hate every Nikon I have ever met.

I've got a bit of a problem with an Amazon order too. I ordered a bird DVD with a gift card. They shipped it but as I followed the tracking they sent it to Oregon and had the status of Delievered. WTF? I wrote the seller and said what happened? I live in Florida how did you get the address wrong. She said it's shipping from Oregon. That seems really fishy to me. So I said, "Can I have a new tracking number and when will I get my package?" No reply yet. ARG!! I don't want to fight over this but I will if I have to. This is the tracking usps 9400110200882512418428
How can it be shipping from if if says Delivered?

I think today will be another day to take it slow and easy.

Current Mood: Cheerful

What a cute picture of Bullet looking in the nestbox hole. She's a little pain in the butt, but she's so cute. I hope she figures out what to do with Sandwich. I have a little pain in the butt too. He's turquoise and yellow, his name is Izzy, and he likes pulling tails.

Yes I'm glad I caught that. Some people said she looks like "Here's Johnny!!" She does it's funny. Yes I want little Bullet babies.
Ha, your tail puller is cute.

This morning Mom even threatened to send him down to live with Bullet because I just know she would dish it back at him.

That actually made me laugh. Yes she would.

Good to see that it's going further with her having eggs... not necessarily fertilized ones, but she got some at the very least. She seems to hate the shavings, though.

Hmm, considering the multiverse theory, it might not be too far off that Owen would be a nice guy in another reality than the canon one. Or at least not as much of an ass.

The weight and mass is indeed the only downside of those. Great cameras, but not easy to carry around casually like a cheaper point and shoot. It is still something you might want to photograph wildlife in my opinion. And I guess the problem with the eye-piece is annoying... especially as vision problems aren't uncommon, so ergonomic eye-pieces seem like a standard to implement in my opinion.

Also good luck with Best Buy... I think my sister can tell that a Canon is pretty good. I would like to have one myself.

Okay, that is quite a stupid thing to be honest. How can a company that is constantly sending packages around the globe mess up something as simple as States? And then the clueless customer service that tells you something that doesn't seem right. Yeah, that is pretty frustrating.

Yeah maybe she does want to be a mom now but forgot one important part to it.

I'm sure it's because I feel differently for Owen than I want my readers to. If he were real I'd know how to handle him too though he's high maintenance. Well I play with the flip side of this in the story Owen's Lost Memory which takes place after Max's Death and Cope didn't go on a mass rampage. He knew what had happened but the police had been paid off and no one would help him.

Best Buy will be fun. I haven't been to one in ages and always have fun when I go. What a nerd store.

It's no different than Ebay. Sometimes you get a bad seller you have to be careful of. Seems I may have a bad one.

I guess she might figure it out. Or so I hope, else she will be there for quite a while.

Probably, right now I feel very much with Cope here (well, he is my favorite after all). It does however sound interesting, if an alternate story would have Owen lose the memory of his own involvement in this story.

It certainly is... including less people outside of Black Friday sales.

Yeah, a reason why I mostly take it from Amazon themselves if possible. Or from sellers that I am 100% sure I can trust.

I already have plans if they are infertile to take them away, kick her out and block the hole. She'll have to interact with him. I've had birds I've had to physically put on top of each other so they get the message.

Oh that's right I forgot he's your fave. Earlier on it was Davon and that's what I remembered. It's definitely very interesting and has two endings also. I'm so bad about that.

I usually pick carefully by percent no lower than 96% positive, proximity and other factors. But it can always happen. Amazon themselves sometimes charge tax or too high shipping so I prefer to not use them.
audes_ljaudes_lj on February 21st, 2015 08:57 pm (UTC)
Well, I guess that is a way to solve it. But let's hope she and Sandwich get it themselves.

Well, Davon as the Devil in business was quite fun. But Cope got himself on that spot quite soon after I got into his character. Ah two endings. Not a bad choice, as there are not many books that actually have multiple endings.

Hmm, yeah that is around the same standards I set for them. And... yeah, in case those taxes and shipping costs come into play, I go to third party sellers as well.

I just bought something off of Amazon too and it says delivered :/ I hope it shows up on Monday.
Desthagirion on February 21st, 2015 08:26 pm (UTC)
Oh no not you too. This is not good.
Calzephyrcalzephyr77 on February 22nd, 2015 03:54 pm (UTC)
It's so disappointing and such a hassle to get another one.
