Books and Amorphophallus
I got my replacement card the other day finally and activated it. I tested it out in a store and it worked. So I put it on my Amazon and my paypal and bought some cheap stuff to test it. It worked. Glad to be back in business finally.

And in other good news I finally got my book Beautiful Bahama Birds by Carolyn Wardie. I met her on our birding tour in Nassau and she showed me her book. Stupidly I forgot to buy one on the spot. When you're on the islands the main thing on your mind is time and to not get left behind by the boat. I remembered when I got on the boat. D'oh!! So I emailed her in Nov and bought one but it never came. I should have paid extra for that shipping. She told me to wait til Feb as Bahamas mail is slow. I don't know how it can be slow when Florida's an over night boat ride away and even faster by plane. I have sent postcards that took a month to arrive. Not the worst mail service in the world. I just think this one got lost. Luckily she has a son in North Carolina that mailed me a copy. The only thing is this one isn't signed unfortunately. But I'm happy with the book and looking forward to reading it. It's too bad that it's not available on Amazon though. She told me if the other copy ever shows up to give it to a friend. That I shall do. My only complaint about the book is it has not maps showing which Bahama islands the birds are from. It only has a description of the range. So for common birds of the Bahamas I do like this a lot.

Ever since I drew demon 11 last night I have been thinking about Amorphophalluses. I dug the ones up that were on the patio. My titan is doing very well. I was pleased to find that. And one of my konjacs is doing very well. My paeoniifolius are doing terrible. They look dry and I don't know if they will recover. I'm planing to buy replacements and will call the guy at the nursery and see if he has any left. I'm very disappointed but it happens when I'm in bed for months I always lose plants. I hate that. But it's wasted time now I have to start over again. I need to bring in the last ones that were outside and see if they're ok. I don't know where I put my bulbifers and I am terrible about labeling stuff so other than the one konjac and titan I'm not sure what's what on the others. I did find out something amazing. Supposedly you can propegate them through stem cuttings. I will try that once all of them sprout again.

I'm thinking of buying another titan also so I can pollinate them if they ever flower. I will buy again from the guy I got them last time. Prices are down. BUT I have to decide if I want to spend $30 on a sprouted seed like last time then they'll be a year apart of buy a 1 year old tubber at $65 that will be much larger and about the same size as what I already have. Save money but spend more time or save time and spend more money? I don't know what to do yet.

I have been editing Innocence Lost finally. I do hope these will be the final edits EVER. I think I'm ready to upload the next three chapters. I decided to remove the whole thing about the geeks and Max as they were unnecessary characters that don't help the story at all. Seems I added that to make the story longer and it did not help anything. Cut a few more unnecessary sections like that too. When I upload these tell me if I screw up the chapter order as I have to re-number things and might end up missing some and doubles of the same numbers.

I'm not sure what I'll work on today. I have no real set plans. I do want to write a story with George explaining why he doesn't duel. But I'm not sure how to go about it as I don't want the narrator to explain it. Doing it that way would seem more like something that would be in his bio.

I guess I coudl write a lot about that but I might just say it is indeed good to have a credit card to work with.

And good thing the book finally came... yeah, I do wonder HOW slow the Bahama Mail is, if it took that long to send it... it took pretty much to to three months.

Ugh, I hoped they would come through. At least the trick to propegate seems to be quite neat, if you want to make more of them. And I guess that it might work out in your favor if it works.

Another titan... yeah, sounds reasonable. Now, the question of spending either time or money... hm, good that depends. $35 more and saving a year might be reasonable. But it is your decision.

I understand that. I have probably cases with way too much edits overall, making things take months at times... seriously, I do take long for stuff to finish. But I guess it is usually worth it to make the story as enjoyable as possible. Not that I mind fillers that much, if they are interesting in themselves.

How about making George tell the story for himself? At least that is one suggestion I can give.

It's not a real credit card. It's a debit card with a Visa logo. Remember I don't play the debt game. I haven't owned a credit card ever and refuse to get one. I only spend money I actually have. Luckily these work well enough on sites as though it were a credit card.

Well another copy from NC came the original one was lost. So that really does suck. I appreciate the American mail system more and more though I always was happy with our service. I'm really shocked how other countries can function with the mail they have.

Yeah may be worth it to just pay the extra amount and get a bigger plant.

I think that's the only way to do it right. He's going to have to tell the story himself and this means I need to create a new character. Been thinking that he had a friend back when he used to have a gang for a short time.

Ah yes, I almost forgot about Debitcards... which are pretty much more useful, I agree. I didn't get one so far either, because I think alike... after the actual experience of debt, I am not eager to repeat that.

That sucks a lot. I have to say, it is quite surprising indeed how that mail system works... and how people can deal with that.

A friend in his own gang... well, that could be interesting. After all, who could be closer to an outlaw than another outlaw?

I have seen credit cards ruin too many lives, starting with my mother. Chris was in trouble too when we first started going out. I helped set an example about money management and now he is much better. He owns no cards but is still paying one off that was bad and is almost finished.

Yes. I have been toying with this idea for a long time now. Need to come up with a new and a look.

I can tell the same almost. I have seen many people doing this and suffering the consequences. Debts even increase over time, making the problem at some point insolvable, if not worked against. It can cost a house at worst.

Perhaps a slimer man in contrast to George?

Some people get more credit cards to pay off their cards It's ridiculous.

Yes I figure his friend would be thin.

Sounds kinda counter-productive to make debts to erase debts. Seriously, it is ridiculous as you say.

Hooray for getting your replacement card replacement and I'm glad it works. You must be thrilled to get your Beautiful Bahama Birds book, too.

That's good that your titan and conjacs are doing well. It's a pity about the paeoniifolius. That happens with me and plants, too. Some thrive, some die...sometimes of neglect. It's a bummer you get sick and can do nothing in the gardening department.

I will read your stories when I have got more time and let you know if they have any inconsistencies due to cutting. I'll bet I enjoy them, though :)

Yeah it's nice that everything is working normally again. And yes I'm enjoying this little book.

I picked some new paeoniifolius today I'm very happy about that. It sucks we lose plants when we are not well.

Ok no rush thanks.
