Very tired
I'm very tired today. I feel like my Mr. Burns icon literally. I don't feel like doing anything. I seem to have less pain but I'm tired from fighting against it. I don't know if this is a temporary break and it will return or not. But I'm too beat to do much of anything. I'm even too tired to game so unless I get some energy back I'll probably watch stuff or lie down most of the day.

I did get out yesterday. It was a day off with Chris and I wanted to go to the AAA office to pick up this year's travel magazines. After that we got coffee at Starbucks and a brownie. Probably a bad a idea but they were yummy. I was really hurting when we got home but I so enjoyed looking at the magazines and am all excited about this cruise to the Galapagos. Gosh I want to do that one day. It's by Celebrity on the ship Xpedition. There are two routes. Both sound great but I think I'll go for the one that visits the Albatross colony and sacrifice seeing the craters of volcanoes. Not an easy choice I'd love to do both. Definitely a high ranking dream destination.

The last few days there have been hawk attacks in my yard. The same female Cooper is back and this is the first year I have not had pigeons in the loft. This is the hawks that mutliated and killed so many of my pigeons that it made me quit flying pigeons and give my flock away. I only have one pet pigeon now Harlequin and she lives in the budgie cage. Well this cooper flies past and sometimes sticks to the screen scaring the crap out of everyone even the chickens. Out of all the miles she flies why does she have to come to my yard? She needs to go away but maybe she will once she finds there are no more free flying pigeons. But she wants to get in the patio and that's kinda scary that she's not afraid. I miss my male Cooper from the other house that I used to feed rats and mice too. He was nice. Chris chased her away last night. I hope I'll have energy to run out and chase her today as I know she'll come back. Crap I think she's here....
Cockatiels started freaking out but I didn't see anything. She usually comes in the evenings. I miss having pigeons. Sometimes I wish I had a mean rooster as they confront hawks. Speaking of roosters. I think I heard one yesterday. I always thought it would be funny if a wild rooster moved in. But my girls might not accept him. They didn't accept the wild hens from last year and they finally moved on.
Current Mood: listlesslistless

I think that icon describes how I feel too. I'm a little better now that I made myself take a shower, but earlier I was on the couch and literally couldn't move because I'm so tired.

I hope you can chase that female Cooper's Hawk away for good. Your patio birds and chickens don't need to be harassed.

We're both there. Sucks.

Yeah she's very persistent.

Yeah all introverts get lie that. We just run out of energy as we have so little to start with.

Yeah a bit of a hard choice but I'd like to see a rare species of bird few get to see.

She can't hurt the chickens they are too big but they get very scared anyway which is not good.

Whoa that's a bit creepy with the hawk on the screen. Yikes! Can she harm your chickens at all? That's neat about a rooster confronting hawks. Cool fact to know, I had no idea they'd be so bold like that.

Yeah. One year she crashed into the window near Bullet's cage. Bullet wasn't born yet but she's extremely aggressive and scared me she was trying to get in the house to eat my birds. The chickens are too big. I don't think she'd hurt them but they get pretty scared. Roosters are very brave. They will die for their hens and face predators to defend their flock. It is their job to die if they must.

Ah that Mr. Burns icon. I sometimes feel like that too. At times I just feel like doing nothing other than lying around and thinking.

Ooh I hope you get to go to the Galapagos Islands some day. It seems like an awesome place to visit. Gosh both the albatrosses and volcanoes seem so neat. Though I value albatrosses more in that I always wanted to see them.

Ack that cooper's hawk sounds scary. As much as I love birds of prey, I wouldn't want a hawk trying to kill any of my birds. That doesn't sound pleasant at all. I hope you two manage to get rid of her eventually.

It's a very fitting icon at times.

Yes it would be so awesome. I was looking at people's photos on flickr today and watched some youtube vidos that were very nice. Yeah I'd like to see the albatrosses more.

She is. I'm hoping she'll soon find she's wasting too much energy with no pay off. No more birds for her to eat here.

I wonder why you're so tired. Is this part of your illness?

That vacation sounds great. Both the albatrosses and the volcano sounds so cool.

You're right. Roosters are heroes. I think your chooks would accept one because he'd MAKE them! But your neighbours would not be pleased at all if you had one. You'd have to check and see if they are allowed in your area. Failing that, what scares a hawk? Maybe a big python sticker on your patio window?

Yes it is. The fibro can cause it.

Yes I'd love to do both.

I'd love a rooster if the neighbors wouldn't get upset.

There is a pet rooster near the RSL hall at the moment,. There was a hen as well, but it got run over :( Looks like they were dumped :( At least they could fend for themselves in the nearby park as well as the RSL grounds. And maybe the people at the pub will feed the remaining one. I'g go and catch it and get me a rooster if I didn't have neighbours. As it is, they are too close and would object. My neighbour with the chooks used to have one but she has got to the age now where if she has a rooster it keeps her awake! Hopefully someone has caught the rooster by now and it is in an animal shelter or been taken to a new home. It was a pretty white rooster - some miniature breed with lots of feathers sticking out around its neck and maybe a fancy comb.

Aw poor rooster. I hope someone takes him. Life in the wild is hard. I wish people would find other homes instead of just letting pets go. Most don't make it.

It was in the beer garden when last seen. Probably picking up crumbs, so it was probably doing all right. Life is hard in the wild and the only thing that is probably saving it from predators is that it is a built up area where there aren't many. I wish people wouldn't abandon pets like that either. It would be way more humane to take them to an animal shelter.
