Well I didn't post any chapters today because I do not like the next chapters at all. I need to re-write them or remove them completely. I do not think they are needed and they make the story unnecessarily long. I need to check I have not added any of those subtle one line things that makes a huge difference later on but there are some un-needed characters. I think I need to cut the scene with Caroline meeting Mrs. Bridgestone in the store because I need to get rid of the scene with the geeks and her son was one of them. If I remove that there's no need to introduce her in the store then. What is needed from that scene is the owner mentioning he was a student of Cope's as he is important later on. Also I think there are way too many chapters about school stuff and not enough about work which is where the focus should be. Sigh. So I don't know when I will upload chapters just yet. George's stuff needs more attention. Sorry to leave you guys hanging.I could skip to the parts I know I don't need to edit. But then when you look it up by tags it would be all out of order that would suck.

Chris bought two hard drives today. We need them for backing stuff up for sure. My computer is stuffed and I think it may die soon so this really needs to be done. I have never stuffed a computer before. I wonder if the video files are to blame? I'd like to have redundant files in case on had drive fails we have our stuff on another. I'm just not sure how to organize things. Any advice? Those of you that back things up regularly how do you organize things? I have a folder for my videos, one for photos, one for my PSD documents and then a few general folders that are name Temp or Test that have whatever in them. Most things like my videos and photos are in folders by years and by months. My PSD's by years. I'm not sure about anything else really.

I'm having trouble with my new debit card. Found out when I was declined on Amazon and I tried to buy a gift for a friend. I called and had it activated and the robot said it was done but something is wrong. That means I need to call the bank tomorrow and find out what is going on. Chris thinks I took too long to activate it. If so then I shouldn't have been allowed to. I don't know but hope it's something easy to fix. Very annoying and I wish Amazon took papyal it's better. We got our Tax forms too so hopefully we will get a good return to put into savings for the new truck. We shall see.

I still have pumpkins. We put them outside under the tree in a clump. So nice to have pumpkins in winter. I wonder if the chickens will peck them? I should get a pic when I'm feeling well enough to go out. Perhaps tomorrow morning with the best light.

Uff, that sounds like an awful lot of work considering that you wrote over 40 chapters in total and now have to see if you can cut some of it or not... I guess revising stuff is the eternal curse of a writer.

I usually use USB-media, like sticks external hard drives, etc. Anything where I can safe a lot of important data in case the PC breaks apart some day. I have a folder for each project I am working on, as well as for music and... that's actually it. Resources are sorted by type, but so far I have nothing that required to sort by date or such. I would recommend it, though. In case of many files it would make it easier.

Banks... they give too much trouble. It should be quite easy for them, but nope, they mess it up. And yes, Amazon should use paypal as well, since it is quite more effective than credit cards and such.

Hmm, I do hope they will bloom well.

Well if it's mostly cutting re-writing may not be as much as I think. I have to be careful though to not cut something important. I was proud this was my longest story but now I think I tried too hard to make it long when it's always more important to have quality than quantity. I don't need people getting bored before the good stuff really starts.

Well Chris had one external drive that failed. To extract the data they have to take it to a clean room and it would cost $2000. That totally sucks and it could still fail. We still have it. Well, there were important family photos for him there and I lost some things too. So having two or more copies on several drives might be important.

Ours has been very good over the years but I need to find out what has happened. I had a feeling things would go wrong on Amazon and they did.

Well they are actual pumpkn fruits. They are very cute. One is huge.

Hmm, yeah that I can understand. It needs to keep the reader focused, so having too many sections before the long awaited climax certainly is a bit problematic. Although the sections are actually all quite entertaining.

$2000 is a load of money. Multiple back ups sound quite reasonable to avoid such costs and loss of data.

I do hope whatever went wrong will be fixed soon enough.

Ah right, I read that and still answered like it was planted in... I think my concentration is a bit failing right now

I'm not sure, but I think Dad has a way to back up all of our devices on the cloud. I think there is a fairly cheap service you can use for that, but I don't know anything about it since I didn't set it up. I have an external I'd like him to back up if he does have it set up. Especially since the DVD drive on my computer is broken.

I don't trust cloud. It's also on all the consoles but we have avoided it. I'd rather have my files in my possession.

I was pretty lucky so far I never did a real backup and none of my PCs that I had was ever full really, they all still work and have some space left on their hard disks but the oldest one is very slow. I only have some photos on DVDs and my most recent PSD works on a 64 GB USB stick that I carry around but that's it concerning stuff stored outside of my PCs.
I guess that videos take the most space. PSDs are not very big normally.

It's really a pity that Amazon does not accept paypal, I ordered some stuff at other sites because of that already.

Yes that's very lucky. All my computers break. I think it must be the video files and I take lots of photos too at high quality so they are big files. I have considered backing things up on flash drives.

Yes and that all the versions in the different countries of Amazon can't be used with gift cards. It just makes no sense how some things are run there.
