Looking forward to Christmas
First off does anyone know where kabuldur went? She's been gone for weeks without a peep. I'm worried about her. She was my best commenter too. I don't want to lose her. That would suck. I really hate how everyone has left DA. That means I'll only have one active commenter here. That's you ACTipton80 and I do value that. But even if I lost everyone I'd still be here. I like LJ and it's a great place to log stuff. I won't go into a long rant now because I already have (I'll do so again at another point) but I hate facebook, twitter and tumblr for destroying personal websites and journals that were about comments and communications. I really hate those places. But yes I'm worried about Kabuldur. I always worry about losing my older friends. Not to lack of friendship but to death. I do think about that and I have a few older friends. I hope she's ok and healthy. Also don't leave me out of the loop too long. If you don't talk to me and I see you around on other places or you don't acknowledge my comments then I will confront you about it. How can there be friendship without communication and contact? That's one of the screw ups silvolf made.

I'm looking forward to Christmas. I'm glad Chris is getting out earlier today since tomorrow and Christmas are his days off. We both got sick of his boss working him til night time on the days before his days off. I was pretty pissed last time that happened as I went to bed by myself and pretty much spent 24 hours alone.

Want to share some pics now.

This is my awesome ceramic Christmas tree.

The little birds light up.

Look up the tree.

Looking down it. I like you can see the other little tree there.

Our main tree with all the presents.

Budgie sled.

I love this Santa figure.

One of my beloved budgie ornaments.

Some of the wall decorations.

This is my new DNA Giant Microbes plush. I love the eyes. They look like adult budgie eyes.

And a Euglena giant microbes. I really like this a lot. I think I like it better than the parameicium though I like the colors better on paramecium. But Euglena is such a neat protist. So I'm having lots of fun collecting Giant Microbes. I love looking at the catalog on the website. I wonder what new ones they will come out with for 2015? I would so love it if they made a lymphocyte and a daphnia.

I got all the decorations up now. I don't have outdoor decorations for Christmas but I think I got everything up I wanted now. I put up the window clings and got new cutouts for the walls. The living room is so nice and looks lovely lit up at night. We can't wait to open our gifts and we open one on the 24th. We're pretty sure we got a PS4 and we've been going nuts about that. So that will get opened early. Chris already cleared a port on the TV and we're probably going to retire the PS3.

I haven't been feeling well the past week or so though. My back has not stopped hurting and yesterday was kind of bad. I was bent out of shape. This has kept me from working on my art which I'm not happy about. Seems this always happens when I'm motivated and willing to work a lot. I think I'm ready for this year to be over too. I think 2015 will be better.

kabuldur
Yes, I've been missing her daily chats and i most liked the snake bits. I made her a friend years ago, but she never did it back so I could never comment.
I suppose a FL Father Chrismas would have a sun-tan....
Passez les bonnes fêtes.

Re: kabuldur
Yes I miss her and hope she is ok.
Yes. Here's one enjoying the pool https://happyhourparrot.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/santapool.jpg

Thank you and Merry Christmas to you too.

I love the little birds on your ceramic tree. I think the birds on mine are plastic, and I have a green star on top of mine. Mine is a lot smaller than yours too.

I love the old world budgie ornaments too. That's a great picture of the blue one. I always put mine together on the same branch. I love that giant turquoise Christmas light above the entry way too.

Those microbes. The DNA one makes me laugh. I think I may have to add Euglena to my want list. It looks really pretty against that red background.

edit: I forgot. I'm going to be traveling from the 26th to the 30th. I will probably post on Christmas about what I get.

I think they are plastic too. I had to order some replacements ones because I have two broken red ones. I could send you some since I think they are sending me a lot. Perhaps they'll fit your tree. But they get broken when the tree is moved around. It's hard to not put pressure on the birds.

Those Old Wold Christmas budgies are awesome. I should get a few more to have a tree full of budgies. Thanks glad you liked the pic.

I think I found that giant light at Target once and had to have it.

Oh ok thanks for letting me know about that. Yes I'd like to see what you get. I'll definitely make a haul post too.

I don't think your birds would fit on my tree because my tree is about half the size of yours. It is lit by a C7 night light bulb. My birds are tiny, and I don't think I have any broken ones, but thanks for offering to send me extras. I wish I hadn't gotten rid of the ceramic tree I had in grad school even though it wasn't as pretty as yours or my current one. It was white with all red birds, and the birds were glass. I like the multicolored birds better.

I have a World Market budgie too. He's not shiny like the Old World budgies, but since he's a budgie I had to have him. They had lots of bird ornaments at World Market that year, but I haven't seen any of them since. Mom also made a budgie ornament this year. She took a clear plastic ball and some paint pens and drew a blue budgie on one side and a green budgie on the other.

I got them in today. Only slightly disappointed. They don't have textures like the ones on my tree. They are smooth except for the dark blue ones. So I will have to order more and make sure they are textured. I still replaced a purple and a red that broke. Perhaps these shine more since they are smooth. I can still send you some. You can think of something to do with them I'm sure. They are still cute. I have 100, more than the tree needs.

Oh that's neat she made that.

I just read on DA that you opened my present. That box's original inhabitant broke a few years ago, and the other glass hummingbird I had broke this year. I kept the box to use as a gift box, and I was able to stuff your microbe in it. My family reuses boxes all the time so I don't think twice about a gift's contents not matching its box.

I do hope your friend is ok too.

Thanks. She's never left without saying why. Usually to visit family so this is odd.

These are really nice Christmas decorations and Christmas-tree. The budgies are sweeeet. :)
Your card just arrived today, perfect in time! :D Thanks very much for that, it looks very pretty. It is part of our decorations in the kitchen now.

I unfortunately don't know Kabuldur, I hope she is fine.

Thank you. Our house is so pretty right now. I love how the lights turn everything pink.
Oh wonderful it arrived just in time. We had a pre-Christmas and got a PS4 and a microbe! Tomorrow we will open everything else.

She came back today thank goodness. Her laptop broke all this time. She is ok and will be visiting her family so now I'm not worried that she will be away again.

Merry Christmas to you.
