Not much going on
Things are going well for me here. Wed night they had predicted lows in the 30s but now they are saying 40s and things look like they will be better. Starting Sat it will be low 80s in the day and 60's at night. That will be great. I hope it will stay that way forever. No more cold. I'm so ready for spring.

I'm making slow but steady progress on everything. My comic is driving me nuts but I finished the third panel of page 1 today. Only 4 to go. It's a lot of work because each panel is its own major art piece. I'm inking the pic of Cope on his bike and almost done with that. I look forward to actually coloring it. And I'm working with an old character I'm happy to bring back. Half done inking him. The story with Leeanix is going slow though. It's kind of hard to write for some reason. I hope tomorrow I can post the next chapter of Captured.

I found out what my little plant I got from NC is. It's called Mexican Hat Kalanchoe daigremontiana and unfortunately found out that it does not tolerate freezing temps. The three I brought back all died after I put them outside. They turned gross white and mushy. But there were a bunch of babies inside in a tray and I have started over. Sucks to loose the originals and all that time and to have to start all over. I guess I can't plant these in the garden. I hadn't considered they'd end up being a house plant. I wanted them for the outdoor garden. They get big. About 2 feet tall but I really wish they were for my desert garden. I have another "mother of millions" like plant that is cold hardy and has been outside my window doing great all this time. Well this one WAS in a greenhouse so I should have known.

And that's about it really.
Current Mood: blahblah

Glad things are going well. It's pretty slow for me right now. Just working on art and gaming.

Well that's good. I hope today will be a quiet productive day.

I'm glad things are going well. I'm sorry you lost thos plants.

Re: your comic, I thought comics were supposed to be fast to draw! I think that's a major misconception we are fed, though.

And today I got your postcard from Mexico! I'm so touched that you were thinking of me when on your holiday. I sure would have liked the same things you did - especially the birds and those awesome huge caterpillars!

Me too. Well it wasn't a total loss at least. I have all the babies. I just need to figure out what to do with them now.

Oh gosh no. Not the way I make them. They can be fast if you don't care about the art looking good and if you color with just flat colors. But I'm going all out to make this look professional. It's going to take a long time. I wish I could find some help. Been asking on DA for an inker to partner with but no luck. As always I have to do everything myself.

YAY!! My gosh almost 3 months. That's crazy. I'm glad it made it. I don't even remember what they looked like or what I said.

Maybe the postcard came by sea? It is a view of Cozumel, Mexico. It is taken from the sea, and has small boats in the fore and mid-ground, the city mid-ground and 1/3 pale blue sky. Now do you remember it? You wrote it the day before you arrived in Mexico. And you drew a budgie on it! I'm thinking I should take it down to show my grandchildren.

Still it shouldn't have taken 3 month. That's like the old sailing days of tall ships. But it's good it made it. Nope don't remember very well. I should have taken pics. But yah you can show them.

Will do :)

Just put the babies in a warm place on top of some slightly moist soil and they should root. We have tried to eradicate them from the garden because they were taking over, but I may have some left here that you can have if you want. I'll have to check and see if they made it through the winter. Yes, I've noticed they don't tolerate the cold as well as other succulents.

I have them in little 1 inch pots. One is already getting big. So I will get them back. I just need to figure out how to keep them now that they will be house plants. They are different from the skinny ones you gave me. I'll take pics later on. The ones you gave me did just fine and look healthy. These are more tropical it seems. Thanks for the tips.

Oh good, I'm glad they are growing for you. I have always had them outside, but never noticed how they would disappear in the winter time, but then in spring, there they were again. I just went out and checked, and I can't find a single one, so maybe we got them all. But I'll know more in spring. Today is beautiful here. So good to feel the warmth.

Since they reproduce so quickly, maybe you could plant them outside where you want in your rock garden, then in colder winter months just bring in some babies and start them again outside in the spring. Keep me posted on how yours are doing.

The ones you gave me are still here and doing great. That's a good idea. I'll treat them like Annuals and probably collect some babies before winter to start them over. It's lovely outside! I just went outside and hung some wooden hearts on the tree and over my desert garden. The house looks cute now. I was wearing pants and got hot part way through. YAY. Now if only it would stay this way and not get cold at night. But tomorrow night will still be cold. I wish it wouldn't go over 82 all year. And 70s at night would be awesome.
