Gun Range pics
So here are some photos from the gun range yesterday. What fun it was.

I drew these faces on the targets because they are boring on their own. A bar tender, a Hitler and a stupid guy.

On the back of the stupid guy I drew these squirrels. Not anatomically correct but I didn't have time to make them nice and pretty. It didn't matter you could tell what they were and everyone had a good laugh at all the art.

Not bad. I hadn't fired my gun in a long time. Had to get used to it. Found out I have to aim high. I did best on the lower squirrel with a head shot, heart shot and tummy shot.

I was having fun. My gun is semi automatic so for the first time I fired off all 10 rounds as fast as I could. That was fun.

Stupid guy's going down. I got him twice in the left eye actually.

My first time firing a handgun. Ruger SP101 with .327 Federal Magnum. It was scary and exciting at the same time. I did great with my five rounds actually.

All head shots and pretty close together.

Chris getting ready to shoot. He loves this.

I can't believe I captured the fire coming out! That's so hard to get. I was also shooting with my cameras. The one of the handgun is a video still so it's kind of cheating. But this one I snapped at just the right time. Chris was firing at Hitler.

And here's what was left. Hehe. I told him it was like playing Wolfenstein.

Lastly on the new power poles near our house an eagle had landed. So cute but crows were attacking him.

Those faces on the targets crack me up.

I love the eagle picture.

Hee hee good. Everyone at the range liked them too.

Thanks. I got a few more I put on my DA. Some I didn't bother to upload because he was just a head. You could only see the white. The closer I got the less you could see because he was in the center of the pole.

Yes, I bet everyone enjoyed your targets. Probably a nice change and more fun than their regular targets. The Hitler one was a good idea. That's a good shot of you in the fourth picture down.

That is the coolest thing you got the fire coming out of the gun....video or not!

Yes, the eagles are back. I'm seeing more and more of them this year than previous years.

Yes it was fun. Everyone had a good laugh. They are so boring when they don't have faces. Also I think the heads are too small for the size of the bodies. Everyone like the Hitler one. Thank you. I was happy with how I looked that day.

Yes, I used to think that was just for the movies but I was amazed that fire does come out for real.

Now that we have these huge power poles in we're getting more birds. They have places to rest their feet now and they're big enough for eagles.

It one of the best days off I have had with you in a while. Thanks so much!

The gun range trip was just awesome. Gun owners are some really nice people. Remember, an armed society is a polite society. ;)
Thanks for the funny faces. It gave them some character for a change. I loved watching you shoot. You have improved a great deal.

The eagles were a nice touch but I share with you a little concern if they could be a threat to the chickens.

Yes agreed. I really enjoyed that day.

It was a new experience for me that's for sure.

I had fun drawing those faces. I want to make pirate next time.

Yeah they could easily take down a chicken.

I love your drawings. I can see why they made people laugh.

Chris looks so happy there!

That is cool about the eagle, even if they are a threat to your chickens. Some Australian Ravens have moved in here (possible Forest Ravens), so they are top of the food chain. The currawongs, peewees and other birds don't like them about. I'd prefer the smaller birds to come back. Maybe it's the season. There are hawks about. Sometimes we get one of those that crash into the trees to flush birds out. My bantams were scared of it! And I sometimes see the giant wedge tailed eagles about the area (not at home). They'd have to be king of the birds around here.

Thanks. It was fun making them. Yes Chris really enjoyed himself. So did I. That's the most fun I have had at the range.

Well since they are mostly fish eaters hopefully they won't notice my chickens and there are lots of lakes around. But I'm always cautious because they do go after mammals and birds too sometimes. I LOVE Wedge tailed eagles. They are your version of the Goldens.

Oh, are they? You must really love your goldens, then.

Hehe the pictures make it more fun. I wish we'd done that when we went shooting.
Des: Laughingthagirion on November 22nd, 2013 01:30 pm (UTC)
Yes it really helped a lot.

I know it must just be my cold, but I really got a kick out of the faces!
Des: Laughingthagirion on November 22nd, 2013 03:32 pm (UTC)
Thanks. Apparently they've been a big hit.
