Great day off and another Red Dead photo dump
Today was awesome. I slept in until 8 which for me is very late. But I needed to catch up on sleep from having stayed up gaming so late the other night. I'm surprised and disappointed that so far I have only had two dreams about George and they were both too short and not as enjoyable as they could have been. I'll type those out some other time. But I have had quite a few Owen dreams which is odd because I really don't think about him anymore. But I guess he's still a big part of who I am. We fed the birds then took a lot of garbage to the dump. I saw lots of vultures there and got some decent pics of them. We ate at IHOP and I decided that this will be the week I'm off the diet so I'll have more time back on it before the trip them come off it again and look nice for it. But I got full so no pumpkin pancakes today.

I wanted to go to a Hallmark store in Plant City since the one near us closed down. That really really sucks. We came home first to get the directions. Then we went out. On the way there I think we saw something very unique. I saw a red mammal bounding through a meadow. My mind was like, "That's not a deer. Deer don't move like that. Coyote?" But it was too big to be a coyote. I think it was a pack of Florida red wolves which would be cool because they are endangered. How I wish we had pulled over to get pics. Then I could have IDed them for sure.
We found the Hallmark store but they didn't have much Halloween stuff. They told me they really don't get any which sucks more because our always had lots of nice things for Halloween. That's where I got my count down figure. But I had forgotten about the veggie animals. They had a mango love bird. Chris got that for me and some cards to mail out to my friends. I have mailed out most of them. I will try to finish the last few tomorrow. I will get a pic of the mango bird tomorrow too. It's great and right next to my radish tiel.

I then wanted to go to Game Stop because Chris mentioned there were some cool headphones he wants to get. He told me about this the other day. I'm all for it. They are expensive though and we won't be able to until after our vacation once we save up again. His birthday is coming up but technically me getting the trip and the shore excursions is my birthday gift to him. But yeah I still want to buy him more stuff. So we went to check them out. Of course the most expensive pair felt and sounded best. No shock. But Chris bought me a pre-paid card to use on Xbox.com. I have been wanting one to get props for Ophidius. So I used part of it to buy him the wings at last.

Ophidius flying

I will get a better bigger image on the TV screen itself. This is from the website.

Then we came home. Chris did some work cleaning up in the garage so we can build a pen for Henrietta. He got about half way done with it. We then went to the recycling place and dropped off all the cans. I guessed we might get $20 for them. I was right basically. We got $19!

Then we went to Staples because Chris wanted to get me a memory stick so I can install GTA V on my Xbox with it. I don't have room on my Xbox hard drive and the guy at Game Stop suggested get a 16 gig memory stick. So we did that. And I wanted to put the $19 towards a new mouse. I have been having a bunch of problems with mine. It double clicks in photoshop and Sony Vegas. I can't have it do that and giving commands that I don't. It screws things up when you click and drag too. So it's hard to select areas and to use the crop tool. As a digital artist I just can't have that so new mouse today. I picked up a Logitch wireless. My first time. I love the shape and that it's wireless. It works and is fast. The only problem and it's kind of a big one is it's REALLY heavy. I don't know if I can sit for hours doing digital art with such a heavy mouse. Even surfing with it is hard. It's actually a major down side. I'm just not very strong and this is a heavy mouse.

But yeah it's been awesome how much gaming stuff we did and bought today. Then we played Red Dead a bit. I filmed us floating down the river on the stagecoach. It's a glitch you're not supposed to do, but it's a fun one to exploit and very relaxing and beautiful actually. In this game water is instant death. So it's kind of scary too when you crash into things because you can die and set up to make the glitch work takes a very long time. I'll go into it more once I upload the video. Unlike the last one that was fast paced and funny this one is slow and relaxing.

Ok time for pics then. I uploaded a ton to Flickr and these are the best of the batch.

George Leaning

George leans on a post. This is the None Playable Character NPC. I followed him around because he has more animations and does more stuff than the one I control. I really wish the game had more interactive backgrounds so that I could do all the neat stuff the NPC's do.

Red Tailed Hawk in Red Dead Redemption

I finally got a good photo of the top of the red tailed hawk and you can see the red tail.

George sawing wood. Oh man, I would love to do this. Was so cool to see him working.

George takes apple break

After all that hard work he sat on the ground and took an apple break. I'm so glad I got this photo because I have not seen him or anyone else do this since then.

IMG_0168

Some thinking after eating that apple. I LOVE this photo. It's one of my all time faves.

No wall glitch

This is so funny. It's another glitch. How is this guy leaning on air?

Gourds in Red Dead Redemption

I found gourds in the game!!! I love that. They are hanging on the post over George's head.

Bald Eagle in Red Dead Redemption

I found a bald eagle.

Red Dead Redemption bald eagle close

Very well made, but then everyone knows this bird. I hear there's a crested caracara in Mexico but I haven't found it yet.

Thanatos works at news stand

Thanatos selling newspapers.

George in Jail

George is in jail! Chris got photos of this from his perspective outside of the jail.

George sad

Aw he looks sad. He already said he was sorry for what he's done. I think it's interesting that Kabuldur mentioned he has a very honest face. I also see saddness or regret in his eyes. This character seems pretty sad. So he's different from George that way because my George's default emotion is grumpy which easily turns into anger. That and loneliness. More accurately home sickness. More than anything George just wants to go home. He'll still be grumpy but he'd be home.

Blue or brown eyes?

Nice close up. I can not tell if his eyes are blue or brown. They are always in shadow but I'm thinking they are blue. That would make him different yet again from my George.

Three duster guys

Three duster wearing cowboys. The guy on the right we've nicknamed Duddly Dickerson because he reminds us of him from the Three Stooges. He even screams like him which is what was the funniest thing about him in that show. We need to think of a nickname for the other guy. I was telling Chris that our names are way better for them than their real names which are boring and hard to remember.

Thanatos and George chatting. I need to find a good photo of him and try to do a photo manipulation that would be very hard. I'd like to try to add his antennas and tail to him. I don't know if I can pull it off because that's digital painting. Something I don't know how to do.

IMG_0274

More chatting. These two friends do a lot of this when they aren't killing and destroying stuff.

Open the door dang it

Let me in damn it! George looses hit temper when he find a locked door he can't go through.

IMG_0276

It's nice Thanatos stands by his grumpy friend.

What's going on here?

This is one of those funny random things that happens in these games that makes them so fun. The guy is in the water with his horse and can't get out. Luckily it's shallow because nothing can swim in this game. Deep water is instant death. Well apparently the guy next to him found that out. You just wonder what happened and how they even got there in the first place.

So yes been loads of fun and much needed time together.

Sounds like you've been busy at the shops. I like the glitch with the guy leaning on nothing lol! And the horse. On Sims, I encountered some horses half buried in the ground and they were just walking on the spot and stuff. There was also a dog because I could hear it barking somewhere underneath XD

Yes, it was nice to get out. I enjoyed it. I love it when funny glitches like that happen. Yeah I just happened to look over that rail and was like WTF? I had to get a photo of it. Oh yeah Sims always had problems especially with the horses.

I'm glad you had a good day with Chris. That would have been awesome to see a Red Wolf. Nothing Halloweeny on sale around here, thank goodness. I find the stuff so tacky. There probably would be in the cheap shop, but I didn't go there. Got a catalogue in the mail today that had another chaps shop's Halloween stuff in - but that's a long way away.

Yeah, I can see the unhappiness in George's eyes. Funny, in the photo where you think his eyes might be blue, I think they're brown! But more likely they are blue in the game. What is George sitting in when eating the apple? Is it snow? It looks so weird to me :)

Cool bird shots. And cool that there are gourds in the game, too.

Strange how that guy can't get out of the water with his horse. That's gross that there is a dead body beside him.

I'm hoping I can get out there again and maybe get lucky. Aw, too bad. You don't know what a fun time it is here. Everyone's so happy and enjoying Halloween and Fall. Yes a lot of the decorations are cheap, but some can be very beautiful.

It's hard to tell in that photo and if you even look at it at full size which is a huge photo I still can't tell. The shine looks blue but I don't know if that's a reflection or the actual blue showing up and the shadows look brown or are they just that, shadows? It bugs me and I wish I new for sure. Oh I see why you thought that was a weird pic. It's dirt but it was at a slope. This happens in games all the time. It's called collision detection or in this case lack thereof. I'm so used to it I just ignore it. There's no collision detection on the graphics there so his feet sink through the ground.

I was glad to see those gourd. I'm happy when I can find gourds and pumpkins in a game and a lot of them have them. Just shows how much pumpkins are part of our culture.

Freshly dead not so gross. He'll vanish in time. It's funny.
kabuldur: Asterkabuldur on October 11th, 2013 09:43 am (UTC)
Freshly dead if he disappears soon is okay :)

Yeah, we just don't celebrate Halloween her much. Good quality and beautiful decorations would be all right. Interesting how pumpkins are part of your culture. Here, not so much. maybe it is because you have American Indian and South American influences in your culture.

Oh, it was dirt! I guess I am just not used to games.

And now we know his eyes are blue! (In the game).
Des: Budgiesthagirion on October 11th, 2013 01:47 pm (UTC)
Yeah pumpkins are native to the Americas and were introduced to the rest of the world by the Europeans.

Yeah that happens when they don't add all the collision detection. They are invisible lines so objects know how to interact with each other. The bird wings sink into the ground too because of this problem.

Yes, at last we figured that out.

The bald eagle is cute. I love how accurate it is.

I can't tell if his eyes are blue or brown in that one pic either. I see his pupils so they are a light color whatever they are.
Des: Owen Painedthagirion on October 10th, 2013 05:47 pm (UTC)
Yeah it turned out really nice. I need to get a good photo of the ducks. I think they are male and female mallards. I hope I can find the caracara and I think there's a House Sparrow in Mexico too.

It's so annoying you can't tell what color his eyes are. Seems it could go either way. We also can't shoot each others hats off but you can on the NPC's. I could try to punch the NPC version of him so long as the whole town doesn't get in a fight with me. That knocks hats off. Then I could run and hide and wait for everyone to stop being mad. Then try to set him up, but this town has terrible lighting. It's always cloudy. But it's bugging me because I really want to know.

Glitches like the guy leaning on air or the horse in the water are so amusing. It's cool that you were able to see the characters doing all that stuff they don't normally do and you can't have them do yourself.
Des: Flying Budgiesthagirion on October 11th, 2013 05:34 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I knocked the leaning guy down and it was hard because it was like there was an invisible post there. When the fell it was gone. So it's like it added collision detection for a post that wasn't there. Haha. Yes that was nice to see them do stuff I can't. I wish the environment was more interactive.
