Another sketch and making plans
Yesterday was a nice day off. We went out to eat for breakfast. Chris did a lot of yard work and the house does look better outside now. We've spent a lot of time brain storming and came up with more stuff for George's story. Stuff not good for him of course. I love him after all so it's bad.
I'm also getting excited about our up coming cruise. I keep forgetting to register on the website. I hope I can do that tonight. I need to call my travel agent and find out about when we get our tickets, where the port is, what to do about our truck and other things like that. Tomorrow I may also book our first shore excursion. I have enough for that now.
The garden is doing nicely. Some of my pumpkins are getting powdery mildew though. Gosh it sucks. So hard to grow pumpkins in Florida. But the Zucchini are doing great. I think one's ready to harvest. I don't know what we'll do with it. Chris is the "cook" so we'll have to find a recipe for him that doesn't involve too much work. We avoid cooking as much as we can. I don't know when it's ready to harvest either. I think it's ready now. You don't want them to turn yellow.
My back hurts every morning. I hate it and I hope that it won't be a problem on our trip. I think I am worse now. Definitely worse than I was last year. But my hands have felt the best they ever have since my problems started last year. Though I'm not totally in the mood I think I'm physically ready to get back into bass playing. I do think about it a lot. I need to clip all my nails. I think I can play and game for hours again.

Ok, so here's a new drawing I made yesterday. If you're on DA and I make an all art post here I don't mind if you comment twice. In fact please do so. There's hardly anyone here on LJ and yes I'm holding on to this sinking boat until the very end. I still want to hear from you. And I also don't always copy and paste my text. Sometimes I do add a sentence or two that was different. But not always. But yeah check this out.

Remember how in the story Gun to a Knife Fight, Malidicus warned Gallemotch to not let him ever catch him in human form again. Then he had to run away because Ophidius was seriously wounded? Well, this is much later and Malidicus does find Gallemotch in human form as George. He wants pay back for that day. George is caught totally unprepared for this. He's no match for Malidicus but it's amazing that he was almost strong enough to lift him off of him. Right now he really wishes he could reach his pistols. Not that they'd do any good but he doesn't know that. I'm looking forward to when I can get around to coloring this.

I'm working on Gallemotch's character sheet too. I've drawn his face from different angles showing how he opens up. I'm starting to think his plant parts are creepier than his bug parts. Oh and Chris helped me find a name for his scorpion servant. It's Aladritch.

Lastly the song Peacemaker by Sonata Arctica fits George very well and has been an inspiration for him.

EDIT: Big edit. This is my list of original characters. I wrote them as they come to mind. Parenthesis have no real names yet. All my Thagirion Realm characters so far.

EDIT:EDIT: Here is an 11 point star I made that shows the hierarchy so far. This is an LJ exclusive.

Servants are between the points. And there is none between Sorath and Thagirion because Sorath is Thagirion's direct servant. This is also how you know where the star starts. There is a round stone table in a hall were the 11 sit in this order, moving to each others' left. I need to fill in those last 3 points. I'll worry about servants later.

Wow, I love that one - Malidicus looks particularly scary!

Sonata Arctica is one of my favourite bands. They write some good songs. :)

Thank you. Yes he's a big scary black wolf. I'm looking forward to coloring this one.
Awesome. They are one of my favorite bands too and that song fits George extremely well. :D

I guess George's life starts sucking right now. I'm not sure who to root for in this match up.

I'm glad you made a digital version of the star. You showed me the pencil one when you visited me.
Des: George Smiththagirion on August 29th, 2013 07:09 pm (UTC)
It sure does. I'm thinking up ways to torture him physically and emotionally. I'm with George on this one just because he's my current focus. Realistically? He's no match for Malidicus.

Yeah my pencil one was too small and messy. I drew it in my book so I wouldn't forget it. Have been meaning to do this for a while now to clean it up. I'm glad you like it. I will have to make a 10 point one too.

BTW, I forgot what we talked about. The 11 points are also based on Sorath's staff and the cycle of the sun. It's 11 years for sun spots right? I forgot what the 22 was though.
actipton80actipton80 on August 29th, 2013 08:36 pm (UTC)
We were talking about how often Sorath needed to go back to the sun. The sun spot cycle is every 11, but the cycle for "big" sun spot years is every 22, so it's basically every other cycle. I found out something else about sun spots too when I was reading the Death from the Skies book. The sun actually puts off more radiation during a sun spot year. They are dim in the visible spectrum, but they put off more x-rays and higher level radiation. That book is interesting. You would probably like it.

Ah that's what it was. I liked that Sorath needed to return every 22 years. I think I knew that and it just makes sense. It does sound like an interesting book.

I just realized something. I need two 10 point stars. One for when Gallamotch is gone and one for when he was still on but for when Sorath is gone. I will need a 9 point star for when both Sorath and Gallemotch are gone. Quetz loves it when Sorath leaves because he's temporarily #2.

Do you not cook dinner each day and stuff or is it just cooking special things you avoid? That's annoying about the mildew though.
I hope your back will feel better. It's never nice to think about enjoying a trip and the worry of having it spoiled. But at least your hands feel better, maybe your back will get worse before it gets better? They say sometimes it works like that.
I was wondering when Gallemotch's character sheet would be done! I was thinking about the others you've done so I figured his would be soon :D
Good luck with your character pic if you do it! It's a big undertaking. By the end of mine I was a bit tired of it but it's really well worth the effort. I look at mine and marvel at what my mind can come up with, it's like a picture of inspiration for me.
I like the hierarchy star, that's a good way of doing it.

No, we live like kids basically. We buy pre-made food mostly. We hate grocery shopping. Sandwiches are the most involved cooking we really do. Eggs are a chore because they have to be cooked. We buy stuff that's To Go more than we buy groceries. Canned food that can be eaten out of the can is also another thing we do. Yeah, we're bad and just avoid it if we can. Conversations usually go
"What do you want to do for dinner?"
"I don't know"
"Well there's nothing in the house. We'll have to get something."
"Well you have food I don't. I need to get myself something."

Thanks. It seems to get better in the evening. I thought about that too. Sometimes I say stuff like, "Get it out of your system so you can leave me alone."

Yep, I'm working on that. Just got slowed down because I decided to change the number of segments he has from 16 to 20 and now all the art I have made of him is wrong. I need to make one for George too. Funny enough I think he's harder to draw than Gallemotch. I'm glad to hear you were thinking about him and look forward to it.

Yeah, I don't know when I will get to that. I just need to draw everyone once in an interesting pose. Perhaps some of the poses for the cards could be reused for the layout. That's a great way of putting it and yes it was a great way to show your inspiration.

Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I can't wait til I can fill it in. But creating characters is hard for me.

I love how George is nearly strong enough to hold Malidicus off.

That is neat being able to put all your characters in a star shape. And there sure are a lot of them.
Des: George Smiththagirion on August 30th, 2013 01:37 pm (UTC)
Yeah it's pretty impressive and earns him a pinch of respect.

I'm glad you like the star. I have slowly been building up my character populate over the years since the mid 90s.
