Very productive day yesterday
Where did everyone go yesterday? Only had one response. Well, I was very busy drawing yesterday and made a bunch more pencil sketches that I'm very proud of. They all feature George or Gallemotch because he's who I'm mainly obsessed with at the moment. Poor Owen and Ophidius. This one was inspired by a discussion I had with actipton80 While I was visiting her.

For now I'm calling it "My Dove". But I need a better name for it. We talked about how of all my characters only Cope (who owns budgies) and George are fit to own pets. George doesn't have any pets, but here are some possibilities as to what could be going on here.
I don't know if the dove is dead or just hurt. I don't know how it got hurt or if someone else hurt it. But if they did it's likely George killed them and then came over and picked it up concerned. Now he's still an evil man, but being a feeling type stuff gets to him sometimes. Some things don't phase him at all and he can ignore them. Others cause him to quickly loose his temper. There's no logic to it, like is the case with most feeling types. I just like the contrast of this scary evil gunslinger being gentle and concerned with a small bird. Maybe other birds were picking on it. In this case I can easily imagine him saying,
"Are you an outcast too? Did the others never give you a chance?"
I also wanted to show his right hand. Crazybirdlady14 gave me the awesome suggestion that perhaps he hurt it himself on accident. I love that because that's more torture for him. Perhaps he was shooting at one of his targets, missed and there was a dove in the background that got hit. He'd feel awful and let the guy get away and get back to him later.
I drew this as a Mourning Dove. But since this is late 1800's there were still Passenger Pigeons around. Should I color this as a Mourning Dove or Passenger Pigeon? I will post the same question to DA soon.

This is going to be awesome once it's colored! I have been talking about how Gallemotch is the soul collector for Thagirion once contracts come to an end. So he goes out and kills those villains. I don't now what this guy did, but he's on Gallemotch's hit list. All he has is a pistol. He's totally screwed. This is another night scene and it will be during one of those rare desert rains. So I will have a lot of interesting effects to add to this once I start. This one is called Night Crawler, after the Judas Priest song. Chris mentioned I didn't have any songs that reminded me of Gallemotch. I said no. He goes, "What about Night Crawler?" I read the lyrics and they are almost spot on. I'd say they're about 98% accurate for him. The song is about a killer bug. I have always liked this song but still couldn't associate it with Gallemotch...until I drew this. Now it's perfect for him. Also everyone that saw his first pic kept saying how he was so creepy they never want to run into him. I want to show what happens when someone runs into him. Or in this case when he hunts down one of his victims.
Here are the LYRICS
And Here is the Song

I'm loving this piece. It was so hard to get his expression right. George is out alone in the desert at night playing his lovely lonely music. I hope I can color this the way I'd like it to look. Almost all the plants will be done completely digital with no inking. And guitars are so hard to draw! I think this will be so nice once it's done. Poor George. He doesn't fit in anywhere. Even his fellow demons shun him.

I have had this idea in mind ever since I first drew George as the hybrid. It's to show that his plates go all the way up his back and stop just below his neck. He's got four plates on his back. This is one reason he prefers to take this form when he gets into fights. I haven't filled in the painting yet. I like drawing disasters in my paintings to be funny. I just can't think of what yet that's period specific. Chris helped me by suggesting how to fill up the room. I had empty walls and floors because I hadn't thought of anything.

And if you didn't see it, in my last post here I have a cool drawing of him and Solan. It's neat to see Solan in a slightly older version of his suit and with a hat.

I think a passenger pigeon would be cool, as they were still around then.

Maybe you got no responses because lj was being very slow yesterday. I really had to persist. From memory it was worse the night before.

I liked the lyrics and the song. The lyrics are pretty close. Except that Gallemotch doesn't have fingernails, does he?

The background in the last drawing reminds me of a prison, but I can't see him letting any of mankind overcoming him and putting him in prison. Also, they wouldn't let him have his guitar in there. Also, I like that there are no windows. He would like it that way.

I have decided to make it a Passenger pigeon. I think it's much more impacting that way.

I don't know. No responses today either other than yours. Which I really appreciate btw.

I'm glad you liked them. Yeah, but he could scratch with his feet which would give the same creepy effect. The only two other things that don't fit is that the souls aren't sent to heaven, and he's not black. Although at night he would definitely look black. Maybe even in the day in shadows. He's such a dark brown, that like my hair some people would just say it's black.

It's amazing how without color things can look totally different. It's is wood floor and walls. But yes in this it does look like concrete prison walls. That will all be fixed once I color it. I am working on a story where he does get captured for a time. Even in this form if he's out numbered he could be in trouble.

I never saw him as black, so yeah, that bit is wrong :) Yeah,m He could still scratch, just not with fingernails! And no heaven for them, lol :)

I don't know why people aren't commenting. Probably some lj hitch or other. Maybe they suddenly can't see your posts? Like Actipton and Silvolf, and a few others. They always comment!

Yeah, those are the only parts that aren't quite right. But other than that it fits so well.

Yeah, I'm starting to feel a bit isolated here. I don't think it's connection problems because LJ is finally back to normal. Actipton might have people visiting again. And I think Silvolf hasn't commented because she comments on my art on DA. If so I need to post my art here first like I used to. I don't know. I'll just have to ask.

The Judas Priest song does fit George/Gallemotch pretty good! Looking forward the finished version of the drawing named after it.

Aww the sketch with the pigeon... That's neat this characters got a soft spot, since he's got the Angel of Death reputation.

Go you! You're on a roll with your art!

I love that song for him now! I'd love to make a video with my art for it but that would take forever.

Yep, sometimes he does. I'm trying to understand that ISFJ personality for him.

I love how much art I have been making. That pic is next for me to do.
