Late happy 4th of July
Yesterday turned out to be a day off. Chris didn't get any calls and his boss gave him the rest of the day off since nothing was happening. So we've had two much needed days in a row. It rained like it always does on the 4th and there weren't that many fireworks because of it. We had lunch at IHOP and I cheated on my diet but didn't feel bad about it because it was a holiday and I wanted to celebrate. I had a patty melt that was very good. I worked on a 4th of July piece in the morning and finished rather quickly. I think this turned out nice for a simple just for fun thing. I've never drawn a 4th of July pic so it was nice.

I took pics of my decorations. I have some cute ones. Wow so now we're entering the dry stretch of no holidays until Oct. That's too bad and a bit boring. So Halloween is the next one, but we won't be here for that. I'll only do minimal decorations starting in late Sept. I'll leave the 4th of July stuff out for a few more weeks just so we have some color around the house before taking it down and having bland walls again. Well I'll share some of my pics actually.

Our desert garden. Some little flags, two plastic stakes and the solar lights I showed last time.

A tree in the front yard with red, white and blue spirals.

The CD shelf I love to decorate.

My favorite star burst that it the center piece of our counter.

Budgie gourds with patriotic bird house.

Tesla next to a flag window cling.

So yeah nice stuff this year. Better than last year.

I found some VHS tapes of movies and shows I need to transfer to DVD so I've got some work cut out for me there. Chris and I watched Ransom last night. I LOVE that movie. Great thriller. We really needed those two days together. It's been very hard on us with him working so much we hardly see each other.

My left foot has been hurting trying to cramp up. I've lost some sleep over it. My right one cramped up the other night. Very painful but now it's fine. I think the other one needs to go through that so I can get over it. Got some zapping in my right arm last night but it's better this morning. I've got my mouse on my left side because of it. But I'm doing well and I'm happy.

BTW, I posted two awesome pics in my previous post and got no responses. I finished the Break In drawing that's been in the works for a year and I got a more detailed drawing of George Smith done. What did you guys think of that?

I'm waiting for some stuff to arrive in the mail so hopefully it will come today. There was not mail yesterday.

Current Mood: Awake

I like the spirals and the starburst. I think the patriotic bird house is cute. Cute little Tesla.

I hate foot pain. It's actually less annoying when they both hurt at the same time. It feels so uneven when only one hurts.

Thanks. I love that little patriotic bird house. When I saw it at Micheal's I had to have it. Tesla's very cute.

Yeah, though it seems a little better. Hopefully I won't have to go through it. I'd rather have foot pain than hand pain though.

I'm getting excited about the trip and meeting you.

I saw something at Jo-Ann fabrics I wanted to get you. They have fall/Thanksgiving stuff now, and it goes on sale next week. If I get up there again before you get here, I'll be able to give it to you on your birthday.

I've had hand pain too. I hate it, but I can usually work around it more easily than foot pain.

I'm excited and nervous both. I hope we have a break in the rain that week because a lot of the stuff I want to do is outside. We've had pop up storms every day this week.

Aw that's sweet. I can't believe Fall stuff is already out. I saw a video a buddy of mine put up and I couldn't believe that.

Well I just do so much with my hands. I need them for art, typing and bass playing. They're my magic hands and I can't have anything happen to them. Oh and hand feeding baby birds and probably other talents I can't remember I need my hands for.

Don't be nervous. Like I told you I'm very low maintenance. I'd love to do all the things on your itinerary, but if we get rained out for a few days I won't hold it against you. I'm sure we can find things to do around the house. I'll bring extra movies in case that happens as a back up then. I was going to bring three but best to be prepared. I'm bringing my tablet so I can show you how I make art. And I'll bring some of my unique bird books.

Love the 4th of July pic and I'm in awe of you finishing it so quickly.

I would leave your decorations up for a while longer, too. I often leave our Christmas ones up for a while, especially if I am late getting them out.

I'm sorry about the cramping. That sucks.

I'm sorry I haven't gotten to your previous posts, but I will! And expect some post from me. I don't know how long it will take, though.

Thanks. I tried to keep it simple and wanted to get it up in time.

Yeah, there's nothing else to celebrate for a long time so I'll leave them up a while.

Thanks. My feet give my problems when I sleep. Thanks for the comments. It was nice to see there was finally one.

I wonder if there would be a way you could print up and package some of your holiday drawings and make them into cards for sale. They would certainly be different and eyecatching.

Pete gets mindblowing leg and foot cramps and the other day a friend told him to eat a spoonful of mustard when the cramp begins. He did and within seconds, the cramp went away.

I don't think much about printing because I'm a digital artist. All my art is meant to be viewed on a monitor. I don't think they'd sell until my story is officially out. Not enough people know who my characters are for that. Plus holiday ideas are very hard for me to come up with.

Oh gosh, I hate mustard. I think I'd rather put up with the cramps. I wonder why it works though?
