Stunt Dawg art
I'm still amazed that it's been 20 years since I recorded these eps of Stunt Dawgs. It doesn't seem like it. It really doesn't. I see myself my memories so clearly in my old house recording these. That also means it's been 20 years since I graduated high school. AND my car is 20 years old. It's legal now for it to have an Antique license plate. I have mixed feelings about that. I won't get one for him. I remember fairly well going to pick out my car.

So I drew two fan art drawings today and wow again I felt like I'd gone back in time because that's also the last time I drew Stunt Dawgs. Possibly 19 years ago. Just wow, I'm amazed. Really. Anyway here we are.

Fungus turned Lucky into a baby. Baby Lucky is so cute. I love how creepy this is because Fungus look so evil and you wonder what he's going to do to him. I don't think I have this ep. This was shown during a flash back episode. Now I wish I had it. I think I did very well though I am out of practice after 19 years. This type of art is really easy though and when I made my second one I felt I was really getting the feel for it again. I drew Airball next.

Airball's happy. He thinks he's about to be given command of the Stunt Scabs. He's been trying to over throw or kill Fungus since he joined the Scabs. But of course that's not what happens. His treacherous nature reminds me of Quetzalcoatl. I need to draw him full bodied next since this was a close up. These were rather easy and I think they will be fun to color. A nice change of pace from my regular art that's quite complex and difficult. What I want to do is draw all the characters probably just standing normally so people can see what they look like. Then draw a few scenes from some of the eps and then make up my own scenes with them. It's the making up my own scenes that will be the hardest because I have no ideas at the moment. I think after Fungus Badyear is my favorite. It's funny because his name is pronounced "Bag-gear".

I made progress on my other art too. I finished inking Break In. I can start coloring that soon. Perhaps tomorrow. I inked the one where Ophidius shows off his knives. And I got further in the bar fight drawing. I got most of the shades down.

My left middle finger still hurts. I hasn't stopped hurting though it eased up. But now it's hurting more again and my other fingers on that hand are hurting. I'm afraid I'm going into one of my fibro cycles. It's been almost a year since I got it. I hope not. I don't want it to come back and last as long as it did. Especially not when I'm going on a trip.

Time really has been on my mind. Our 9 year wedding anniversary is coming up on the 4th. I doesn't feel like 9 years. My wedding memories are even fresher in my mind. Chris said it still feels like newly weds. I think we're soul mates because I do see couples settle down and become like room mates and loose the magic. We haven't and we refuse to. We're still in love as though we were dating. I told Chris that today. "I'm in love with you." And he told me he's in love with me. Just to put things into 10 and 20 year perspectives is so weird though. We'll celebrate on the 5th though because he gets Wednesdays off. We don't know what we'll do. Not much since we're saving. But we do want to do something special next year for our 10, though our total time is really more important to us. Too bad it's in such a cold crappy month like Feb.

Nostalgia everywhere. Because I recorded these eps Chris and I have been talking about what it was like growing up with VCR the good and the bad. I told him how I learned to draw Stunt Dawgs by pausing the VCR and had to draw really fast before it unpaused and I lost my frame. To catch that same frame would be very hard. VCRs only stayed paused for like a few mintues. I hated that. I still felt that tension when I was using the screen caps today and had to remind myself it wasn't going to vanish on me. But I drew these pretty quick. What primitive technology that was, but we didn't know it at the time. And Chris has been playing more 80's than metal lately. He's my DJ. He plays music in his room while I work in mine so I listen to his choices. It's nice.

I love going back in time and remembering being a kid and watching things. I have quite a few series like that. The pics are good! I like the simple style of the old shows. Kids animated shows these days (that aren't CGI) have a stupid crappy kiddy style to them that looks like they were drawn by a four year old. I hate that. I rarely find a show that's appealing in art style these days.
I really hope one day I find a guy as amazing as Chris. I'm always worried about getting married in case it goes stale over the years and we fall into a routine. I hope I can find someone who keeps it alive like I would want to.
I remember pausing the VCR and drawing in a hurry too lol! That's how I started out really improving my art before I got my own style. We had one VCR that would pause for a little longer than the others. And a couple that when paused, there would be annoying lines through the picture and it wouldn't be clear. Dad taught me how to pause it to draw things. Mum used to whine that it would wear the heads out on the VCR.

It was crazy that drawing these feel as though I picked up from when I drew them way back when. Like no time had passed. It is great. I know. I hate how so many cartoons today just look terrible and ugly. Everything is deformed and disproportionate. They don't look like what they are supposed to be. I blame Nickelodeon for starting that in the mid 90's by purposely making things so ugly. I think it started with Ren and Stimpy, though I liked that show things got worse and worse after that.

I hope you do too, but it's good you're selective. I was too and that's important to not just settle. Better to have none than to have it bad.

Ah yes the wavy lines. A lot of my eps have those at the bottom now. I extracted the files of one of my DVDs to get the screen caps and that will always be there. I never cared about the heads on my vcr. I worried more about my tapes breaking. VCRs could be replaced. Rare shows could not.

Hehe, you were getting put of school and getting your car etc about the time my daughter got married! It really doesn't feel like 19 yrs.

Wow, you drew there two pics fast. My VCR has two sorts of pause. One it automatically starts again, and the other it hold sit. Apparently that is bad for you tape, though. VCRs were very high technology back then!

I'm sorry about your fingers, and I hope it doesn't flare up again...especially with your trip coming up.

BTW, Mum and dad's 60th wedding anniversary is coming up, and they are still very much in love!

Time really does fly. That's interesting.

Yeah, this style of cartoon is much easier and relaxed. My VCR did too. It would start to play again. Some would just stop after being paused. Yeah the strain of being paused is bad for them. Luckily I transferred them so now they are preserved. Yes at the time it was the best technology but they had a lot of aggravation too.

Yeah, I have been having other stuff happen too that hurts and has me worried.

That's great your parents are still in love after 60 years.

They used to hold hands at the dinner table when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure most other parents didn't do that :)

But at least they showed it was possible to stay in love for the whole marriage. They've been together at least 64 years, probably more :) (They waited four years to get married).

That's cool. We waited 8 years. It was killer and that's why we feel that we've been married the total time. All because of my mother. He just left for work. But I'm in a good mood and we'll celebrate tomorrow.

Yeah, both of their parents wouldn't agree to the marriage, so they had to wait until they were 21. They could have been married in a registry office before that, but they didn't want to.
