Hey that's mine!
I just finished coloring this! I'm very happy with it. I definitely want to draw more scenes from this story. Click for full size.

He reached for one of his knives with his left hand and managed to pull it out just as the big guy was on top of him. Not fast enough. The man in the hat and duster grabbed him by his hand and hoisted him into the air. With his massive thumb he pushed the knife right out of Ophidius’s little palm.
“Hey that’s mine!” Ophidius protested. Not only had he recently upgraded his suit but he had also upgraded from the old knives he’d had for centuries. He never liked those blades. These new ones were nice and he didn’t want to lose them. The guy was 6’5” and Ophidius was looking him right in the eyes as he held him there. The stranger had brown eyes, long dirty blond hair and stubble on his square chin. “If this isn’t about money then what? Did I murder someone you care about? If so I’m REALLY sorry.”

This is a scene from my story Guns to a Knife Fight. So Ophidius is in big trouble. He was caught off guard and hurt. He's no match for George Smith in this state. Had he seen it coming this wouldn't have been so unfair.
Ophidius's 1800's outfit! What do you guys think of this look?

"...Did I murder someone you care about? If so I’m REALLY sorry.” LOL!

This turned out just fantastic! The wood floors and walls look beautiful and the expression on Slith's face says it all. I am amazed at the size disparity between the two. Oh, and the shadows on Slith are cool!

The painting cracks me up. Such busy action and violence. hehe

Well done, baby!

I'm glad you liked it. I'm very pleased with how this turned out. I should make this story into a comic. Every scene deserves to be drawn.
That pirate painting was so fun to make. Yeah, Ophidius is a little guy and George is huge.

He's in for it now. I like the 1800's outfit. It fits his tacky color scheme. I think my favorite thing in there is the painting of the ship. It has so much detail in it.

Yeah he doesn't come out of this one well. He loves those gaudy colors and don't understand what it means to match. Thanks. That pirate painting was actually very easy to make with blotchy brushes. Not bad for basically doing it like finger paint. I like having violent paintings n the walls during fight scenes. I first started that in the pic where Owen his Solan with a baseball bat. In the background there's a painting of the Titanic sinking.

For some reason, my eye was first drawn to the painting before anything else and I thought, "hmmmm, what is that all about?" Very neat painting.

Everything else looks great. And I did smile at the dialogue-- ". . . Did I murder someone you care about? If so I’m REALLY sorry.”

Thanks. It's a pirate ship in a battle. Two canon balls were fired at it and they hit the water and it fired one canon ball back. I think it's funny to have violent paintings in the background of my art during action scenes or fights. I think the stick figure captain is funny. I wanted it to be a "bad" painting on purpose too.

I'm glad you like it. Hehe, Ophidius is a bad guy and does all kinds of awful things. So many he can't remember them all. When his enemies come for him sometimes he's not sure why they want to kill him.

I like Ophidius's outfit except for the pink shirt and purple tie!

It's a funny scene, though.

My eye was drawn to the paining, too, and I can see that they are cannon crashes into the water. Fantastic!

And I think it's funny that Ophidius can't remember all the people he's killed :) (Once I would have been appalled, but now I'm entering into the spirit of the story).

Thanks. I'm glad. Well that's good too because even though he sucks at matching part of him knows it. He likes the reaction he gets from people of, "Eew, that guy looks terrible!" Other than the dark pants they are the same colors he wears in his modern suit.

Oh, good. I'm glad you can tell what's going on in the painting.

Once I would have been appalled, but now I'm entering into the spirit of the story

Hurray for desensitization. Yep, that kind of thing is normal everyday for my guys in a book full of villains. It's meant to be a dark humor.

Uh-oh, Ophidius is about to get his ass kicked! I like how he's trying to weasel away from the big guy there. Great work on the picture.
Des: Ophidius Concernedthagirion on April 17th, 2013 08:04 pm (UTC)
Yeah, weaseling out is something he's usually good at. He's hurt from having been thrown across the room once by George Smith who is Gallemotch's human form.
