Resplendent Ophidius front
My Quetzal icon is getting so much use haha. I need an LJ icon of Ophidius. There are still some expressions/emotions I'm missing so perhaps I can use him for that. I have finished Ophidius's front view. I'm thrilled with this two part art set I've made. I haven't made a two part series since the Owen Pained ones. I will also repost the back view behind the cut because when I made these I kind of wanted them to be so that one would be on top of the other. I thought about making them one tall image but then decided not to.

Click for Full size.

I love how different his wings are from the back and the front. But this is what Quetzals are like.
Quetzal in a down stroke
Quetzal in an up stroke

So yes I'm thrilled with these. I think I'm obsessed with Ophidius. Haha, it's great. For once I have a "new" character that I don't feel resistance to letting in. Probably because he's always been there but I never used him to his full potential. This is also the first time in a long time that Owen has not constantly been on my mind. I loved it the whole time Owen was there and Cope was a close second. But I haven't thought much about Owen and for once he's cool with it. Ophidius has taken center stage and is just dominating right now. Sivolf, I know you can relate and now I understand hehe. I can't wait to have my first dream of him and more importantly AS him.

Ophidius's main role is to be Malidiucs's friend and bad influence. The two rampage through the country side (several countries and centuries actually) causing havoc and mayhem to the locals and to each other. When Chris and I are together, especially on trips in the car, we come up with dialog for them, or I'll ask him question about how Malidiucs might react to stuff Ophidius does. What we were both amazed at was how well I play Ophidius. I have always sucked at improve and coming up with lines on the spot, but not when I'm in character as my boy. This shocked both of us because when it comes to spontaneous humor I'm usually as stiff as Sorath. The only thing I could think of was that I become an ENTP when I'm on a caffeine high (and when I game). But those times we were making up lines I wasn't on the stuff. So where was I getting it from? Chris finally figured it out. He said that Ophidius must be my rebellious nature that questions authority. When I say things like, "I can do that better. I should be in charge. If I were the owner I'd show everyone!" That's Ophidius in me. Also my awesome ability to get around rules and find loop holes no one ever exploited is also Ophidius. Of course he's much worse since all my guys are at least a 10 fold version of my personality. I usually keep that to myself and under wraps but when I play Ophidius that would explain why it comes so naturally. I can finally cut loose with what I've always been stifling. I never would have figured that out. Thanks babes. This also explains why I've gotten along well with every ENTP I have met. It would be a blast to hang out with Adam Savage.

The only two characters that I think are exceptions to this are Destina and Thanatos. I don't think they are a part of me (except for Destina's love of exploration/travel), but I have given them traits I admire in others. That may have been a mistake because I have almost no feeling for them. I have such a hard time relating to them. Especially Destina. They are both so different from me I don't get them. But I'm trying at least with Thanatos because he's very important.

So yeah, new drawings. He doesn't always go around with his wings out of course. But it was nice to show this and he likes it when he can do this. So yes comments please.

The wings are pretty from the front too. I like the reference pictures of the Quetzals too. The wings from the front remind me of budgie wings with the white stripe, but it is up higher.

I get you on the improv one-liner thing. I've had people say I'm funny, but the one-liners that they like just sort of come out without me thinking about it. If I actually try to come up with them, I fall flat.

Thanks. I'm glad you liked them. That little bit of metallic green makes them very nice. Yes, the stripes on them are a lot like budgie wings. I got worried when I saw that because that's something hard for me about normal budgies. I try to avoid drawing normal budgies if I can because they have lots of difficult patterns. Thanks. I was happy I found that down stroke pic after I had made the first drawing. I was glad I colored them right. All I could find were up strokes for some reason. I'm glad I saved it because I can't find that pic again which is why I just uploaded these to my own photobucket.

Really? I can't do that though. I find it surprising that people think I'm funny when I'm complaining and being sarcastic about stuff or people that annoy me. I guess it's because I'm saying what they only think.

Most of my things that I say that people think are funny are usually either me being sarcastic or me trying to put my (almost always visual) thoughts into words. I guess some people think it's funny when I say what everyone else is thinking but won't admit. Some of the funny stuff I say just slips out without me thinking about it, a lot of times after I've had too much sugar or caffeine, and I'm already hyper.

Perhaps we should go to Starbucks if I visit you. I don't know what you like to drink, but I love coffees. We can get hyper together. Don't worry, I'm not mean when I change but I'm definitely extroverty. But my NT never changes so I am always perfectly aware that I am not myself and why.
EDIT: I remember you have heard me in that state. I made a garden video ages ago where I was caffeinated. I think you said it was funny except it made you dizzy because I went crazy swinging the camera around. Oops.

I rarely drink anything with caffeine in it because even decaf tea can make me bounce. I love Starbucks cake balls, but I usually get herbal tea or Italian cream soda if I get a drink there, since I don't like coffee.

The front of them looks great too! I'm glad you've found where he fits in with your personality and what part of you he is. All my characters are like that and any that haven't been have fallen by the wayside. I bond with them far better if they have a part of me in them. And yes, letting him in. I'm still edgy about Zane lol! He and Kurtz are going to get into a fight soon, I know it.

Thanks. Yeah it was a mystery until then. Owen's become like Zorak is for you, he's just patiently waiting in the background. I'm surprised he's not making a fuss.

It has been such a treat to see you finish this project from start to finish! They both turned out just wonderful. Congrats on the great work!

Also, I am glad I could point out the significance of this character as he relates to you. His dialog in our discussions did seem to just roll off your tongue.

Thanks, I'm glad you got to see him progress from the initial pencil art. He was worth all the frustration.

Yeah, I may not have figured that out on my own about him. He's so easy for me to respond as.
