Butterfly box, Viper, doodles and window
I had a nice time out yesterday. Went on three calls with Chris and was out all day. I brought my art with me and my laptop like I always do so I have stuff to do while I wait. I got some nice doodles done so looks like I will have the entry for this week already.

While I was waiting for the first call I got my laptop out and turned it on. I thought I had charged it but it didn't have a charge and I was only able to use it for a little bit. Well that was disappointing. Then I thought, "What would Ophidius do if this had happened to him?" Well then I drew the pic at the top. I'm really starting to develop him. I'm so glad. I think his height is 5'7". That would make him only one inch taller than Cope and still a short guy I suppose. But that's not totally decided yet. I do want him to be short. So for fun I drew him with his friend Malidicus. I love how they look like such a mismatched pair. Why would Malidicus hang out with a tiny wimp like Ophidius? He could eat him. Well it's because he knows what he really is. Ophidius like pretending to be weaker than he is and taking advantage of people for that. He's a mischievous little jerk. I'm still refining Malidicus's look. Drawing werewolves is new to me and I don't think I'm very good at it yet, but I can see that I have potential and once I get comfortable I should be able to make him very cool. Mammals are different and my background comes from drawing birds and reptiles.

earthmother45 always says she takes her camera with her everywhere. That makes sense since you never know what cool thing you might see that you might regret not having had a camera. I'm trying to get into this habit. So I took my camera with me and we went to a gas station. I thought about leaving it in the car but then remembered this and said to myself. "You never know. What if you go to the bathroom and there's a butterfly on the toilet?" Well I didn't need the bathroom and there wasn't a butterfly on the toilet but I coudln't believe what I found.

There were butterflies in a case behind some wine bottles. We were in a hurry and I'm so glad I brought my camera because I wouldn't have had time to run back to the truck and get it. I snapped this quick pic. I wanted that. I knew at a gas station that a display like this would be cheap. It was only $40 and that is cheap being that a bug display like this starts around $100 at least and goes up. I didn't buy it but I was amazed by the price and think it's funny I said butterfly and I found some inside when I hadn't expected it. I should have said a million bucks.

While on the road this cool Viper went past us. We love exotic sports cars. This is one of our faves. Too bad I didn't get the front but unless it's parked you usually only see the rear ends on these babies.

Lastly a customer's house. Looks like they built a little Zen garden in the entrance. I liked the stained glass window with the Chinese ladies and it made me think of the art Earthmother makes. I thought you'd like to see it.

When I got home there was a big box and I was very happy to have gotten my order of hanging baskets. I'm very impressed with Novosel Enterprises and will buy more garden supplies from them. What a great deal I got. I'm never getting these on Ebay again.

I like the doodle of Ophidius losing it on the computer.

That butterfly display is really cool. That is surprisingly inexpensive for something like that.

Thanks. That was a fun one to make. He gets so angry.

I've always wanted a butterfly or rare bug display like that. These aren't the nicest butterflies I've seen so that's one reason I didn't go for it as well.

Hehehe. He's jumping on the laptop. He's so cartoony it's funny.

I love the butterfly display. Were there any shiny ones in it?

Hehe yeah, he's a fun character. He's funny in the game too.

There was only one shinny purple one that was small. It was behind the bottles on the lower right. If I got one of these I would want just metallic butterflies with colors, sphinx moths or giant moths.

I love the doodles. Hehe the one of Ophidius and the laptop reminds me of a similar one I did of Riktus years ago. He was smashing up a Mac. I like Malidicus but yeah, drawing something you're not used to takes time to perfect. I think you have potential for drawing good werewolves though!
That garden is so pretty! I love things like that.

Thanks. They were fun to make and I still have room to fill stuff out on that page. I think I remember that. It's fun to have a character that smashes things. I was in the car when I drew these so I had no references. I think I did well for not being familiar with wolves. I kind of have an image of how I want him to look. I'm sure with time I can achieve it and then he'll look really menacing.

Yeah that area was so nice.

Wow~ to me, you had a day that couldn't have been much better than it was! First being with Chris and working on your art and being inventive with low batteries.

I love that you took your camera into the gas station, because you are so right, you just never know what you'll find in the oddest or most unlikely places. :))

The stained glass window is beautiful and I'm willing to bet so much more gorgeous from the inside. Did you get to go inside and see it backlit?

And then finding your order of hanging baskets when you got home. It just doesn't get any better than this. (oh, well, in my opinion anyway. I always say it doesn't take a whole lot to make me happy, and I think you are the same way, too.) Finding pleasure in the simplest of things.

Thanks. It was a very good day.
That find in the gas station was great. It made me happy and then I had a dream last night about being back in biology class in college and working for a professor. I loved it.

I didn't get to go in but Chris said it was a very nice house inside. I waited in the car and was drawing those pics.

I'll take pics of the hanging baskets. I need to repot my nepenthes soon. I didn't do it today like I should have. Yeah, I am easily amused especially if I have nature to look at.
