Barnacle Bay 10 The Wedding
I'm still having an awesome Christmas. Just got back from a quiet dinner at IHOP. There was like no one there. We loved it. And the food was delicious. The weather's been great with temps in the 70s. I didn't need a jacket or long sleeves. But I know it won't stay that way.

I have been very excited about making this post.

Owen all decked out for his wedding. His formal wear includes the top hat. His winter wear is the same but without the hat. He got this table of food for everyone.

Owen rented out one of the parks. He chose to make it an exclusive party and invited: Ian Malcolm (his best man), Richard P. Fungus his next best friend, Solan Rah, Freddy Krugger for laughs though they are just acquaintances on the verge of becoming enemies, Caroline Cope (to maker her jealous of what she lost), Des, Skipper, and John Hammond because he was such a party animal last time. But even at an exclusive party not everyone on your list shows up and there are always party crasher.

Des is lovely. She's in the foreground.
After some fun and dancing the ceremony officially starts. Notice Badyear on the left. He was not invited. Notice the two fires. They were there to symbolize Owen's flame.

Skipper and Hammond didn't show up. That woman in brown is one of the homeless that I can't remove from the game. I don't know who she is and she certainly wasn't invited. Badyear can stay but I didn't want her around. Oh well.

The I DO kiss. Badyear is touched. He cries.

The kiss seen from the other side.

Even Freddy is touched. Everyone else watches happily but keep their eye on Freddy the dream demon.

I love this picture. A sun demon, a dream demon and a villain director.

Caroline and Badyear. Owen's plan to make her jealous didn't work. He just doesn't understand that Caroline never wanted him. She's glad he's finally got someone.

It's official after the kiss and the party holds their breath in anticipation. Notice Des is away from all the other guests. Typical of her.

Malcolm the best man is the first to throw the rice in the air.

Yeay!

Badyear throws some.

Malcolm comes over and hugs the groom. "Congratulations buddy. I'm happy for you."

This one is so out of character but still nice. Oh and those that were totally not invited, Davon, Chris and Cope. That's why Solan, Des and Caroline are here solo.

Owen's so happy.

"Congrats. Yah ha hah!" Says Fungus.

Fancy food that probably tastes like cardboard.

Not everything is going well at the party. Badyear and that bum lady have an argument. "Why dont' you take a hike. You're not even supposed to be here." Badyear says. "NEITHER ARE YOU!" She yells back. "Yeah but they know me."

Owen goes over to Des to get his congratulations. He has to get in good with his creator, but sigh. He still isn't friends with her. So close but not friends. His Charisma is like level five and still climbing but Des is way too hard to impress.

"Screw it! This is MY wedding and everything is supposed to be perfect. I want you as my friend so I'm pulling out the potion." He says. Des gets scared. This is the second time now someone's thrown a bottle at her.

There's that magic smoke again and....it worked! Thank you Cheezey! They went to best friend status. Hurray!

"Congratulations you big jerk. You know I love you. You have my approval." She says to him.

"I'll take that." Owen says. He's just thrilled. A new bride and a new best friend with the most difficult person to get in good with in the town.

"I love weddings." Badyear says as he stuffs his face.

Everyone starts dancing with each other. It's so funny. There were at least four stereos all blasting different metal music.

Everyone got a laugh out of Owen dancing with Malcolm. "This is a great party, Owen. Very eco-friendly" Malcolm adds.

Caroline looks like she's about to do a crane stance. But look how happy she is. She's probably the happiest because she doesn't have to put up with Owen's advances anymore. Nope she's not jealous at all.

The bride dances with the party crasher.

Silliness aside the groom finally has his slow dance with the bride.

After that Destina cuts loose with Malcolm Latin style. The guests began to leave at about this time.

"Great party, Owen. I am proud of you. Good bye." Says Des. Wow, praise from Caesar. For Des to say the part was good is very high praise indeed. Everyone loved it and again Owen goes into the records for throwing a killer party. He's just got it when it comes to that.

He grabs one last plate of that fancy gross turkey.

At home he asks Destina if she's ready for Woo Hoo.

She is.

The end. For now.

Hehe that was a great party! It's funny there are party crashers though. It's nice Owen and Des are finally friends.

I loved it. I'm so glad it was fun for everyone there. Yes, I find that funny too. It happened at my other one where all my guests showed up. Ophidius came uninvited. I'm so glad about that too. Now I think all that's left is for Des to become best friends with Cope and Davon. I'm going to need more potions.

That was a fun party! I'm glad the potion worked for you. I can give you another hint about friends, if you throw a lot of parties and invite people to them, if the party is good or epic you will get a boost to the friends bar of everyone who shows up.

Often people you invite will bring others from the household even if they're not invited. And random people do show up. That's kind of annoying, especially if you want something exclusive like a wedding, or if you do the holiday gift-giving party for Snowflake Day and just want family to come, like I tend to do in my generational games. I wish there was a setting where you could pick "invitation only" or "guests can bring a friend/date" or something like that to control it.

This was great. Both my parties have been one step below Epic. I guess Owen just has the gift. I don't know why when I threw one early on as Davon it was such a failure. OH! That's cool. That might explain why Owen and Freddy are friends now. I left to play as Ursula but then I came back to Owen because it was Love Day. I looked in this social list and was surprised to find Freddy as a friend. But who knows what he did when he was on his own.

Hum, that would explain Badyear because Fungus was there. But yeah I wish that other lady hadn't been there. I have no idea why Hammond didn't come. Those are good ideas. I missed out on throwing a gift giving party. I'll have to do that next time around. Or I may concentrate on certain seasons leaving them on all the time so I can get everything done on them.

Owen is charismatic, right? Sims with that trait or party animal tend to automatically throw better parties than sims that don't have those traits.

The gift parties are fun. The sims sit around and watch each other open gifts. Usually they clap and they get a thought bubble of what they got so you can see even if you don't control them, but sometimes they shake their head if they get something they don't like. They don't like getting garden gnomes or cheap toys (if they're adults). LOL. If you are controlling the sim you'll get a popup, too, like "So and so received a chess set!" The gnome one is funny. It's like, "Haha! So-and-so got a sleeping gnome mcmulty." I felt bad when one of my kids in a generational game only got a gnome for Snowflake Day while her sister got a new bike. LOL

Yes, he's charismatic. I gave that to him for his good looks and because he's so social. So that makes sense he'd throw good parties. He does like them.

Oh no not gnomes. They've been showing up on Owen's house randomly. I had Destina kick one but it didn't get destroyed. Yarg!. I'll have to sell them. I look forward to my next winter cycle.
