Up early
So with this time change instead of getting up at 8:30 I know get up at 7:30 am. It's nice but there's not much activity online this early. It's still too cold to go outside though. The day needs to warm up still. Sixties are cold for me. But I can write yesterday's post I didn't make.

We had a very nice day. We had breakfast at IHOP and I had another French Vanilla. Definitely having coffee in the morning is a good idea. I was able to sleep well since I had it so early and it did fuel me for most of the day. We went to the Halmark store because I wanted something for Thanksgiving, but I knew they wouldn't have much because as far as stores go it's now Christmas. That's too bad. BUT I did find something. Chris got me another of those Home Grown Friends like the Radish Cockatiel. This time I got a pair of Squash Geese Pilgrims. They're actually ornamental gourds, but they were birds and I liked they were pilgrims so they're nice for Thanksgiving. I'll take pics and share soon. They're goofy looking but very well done. A male and a female. Next I want to get the Papaya Puffin. I like it when they are well done and look like the animals they're supposed to be. Not all of them do.

We then came home and worked in the yard. We weeded under the arbor and some of the patio then took a break inside. I'm happy progress was made in the yard. Then we went to Lowe's and I found these awesome 6 foot and 7 foot metal fence stakes. I didn't know they made them that large. I think this will work to solve the problem of the chickens jumping over the fence. We only bought 2 of the 6 foot ones though. They go a foot in the ground so they'll be a five foot fence. Still I know the chickens won't jump over that. They'll still get out but I can cover up one of their escape routes for now. We'll get more next week. This will work until we can aford a real fence. So they'll have less options for leaving the yard. He also bought me a white pointsettia since the chickens pretty much destroyed the last ones.

Then we had dinner at Pizza Hut and came home. A very good day.

I'm glad you had a nice day. The fence is a good idea for the chickens.

Are those metal fence stakes star pickets? I call them steel stakes, but most people here call them star pickets now. We can get them in different lengths. It's good to have to taller ones, but how on earth is one supposed to hammer them in? I think I'd stand on a chair or step ladder. I hope you can keep your chookies in and safe. I haven't got over the loss of mine yet. It's hard to resist getting more. I have to tell myself that I don't have anyone to look after them when I go away, which is true, but I still miss them terribly :(

I don't know what they are called. When I was looking for them I didn't know how to ask about them because of that so just walked the hardware store tile I found them. Here's one with the bluebird nest box on it.

They are green and have a few holes for screws and on the other side have a few hooks for fences. They only used to make short ones so I was happy when I found long ones of the first time. Haha, yes I mentioned the problem of pounding them in to seed to Chris. He said he can stand on the wings for that and it should sink right in. I hope so.

Forgot to say, yeah I know how you feel. I want more too but can't because I don't have anywhere to put them and need to rebuild them a better house. I don't blame you if you did buy more. They are great pets and company. I'll put a video of them getting treats up soon.
