I married Looten Plunder
I'm happy because I got a new complete drawing to share. I like it when I find Illustrator files that have already been inked and all I have to do is color them. I don't know why I forgot about this, but I drew this at the beginning of the year. I had a strong urge to finish it today and I did. Check it out, it's me and Chris. Haha, not really but well it could be.

Click for full size.
It's Looten Plunder one of the villains from the cartoon Captain Planet. I love that show. And he's with Catra from the 80's cartoon She-ra. I loved that cartoon too. Chris reclutantly bought me the Captain Planet DVD's when they were new. I really wanted them. He doesn't like the show because of the liberal messages in it. But I never saw it as that. To me it was just another super hero show. I was very obsessed with environmentalism back then because I've been a nature lover since I was born. Also the show was just so darn cheezey how could you take it seriously? Sorry but there is no villain anywhere that would attempt to purposely destroy the earth. Where would he live? Haha. Hum, provided he's an earthling. I just thought about Marvin the Martian who wanted to blow up the earth because it blocked his view of Venus haha!! Ok, I'm getting off topic. So I wouldn't make him watch it. That's ok he's got show I don't want to wach as well and we watch them in separate rooms with headphones to not bug each other. My favorite villain was alway Duke Nukem...hee hee (I'm snickering just typing these names out.) I liked him because he was so powerful and funny when he got mad. I was never a fan of Looten Plunder because of all the bad guys he was the most normal looking one. No powers, no super intelligence or anything else. He was just a guy. So I never paid attention to him. So I started watching the eps looking forward to the ones with Duke. But when I watched the first one with Looten again my jaw dropped. I guess it's differnet watching it now that I'm a woman and no longer a girl. I was in love. He looked just like my man! I had married Looten Plunder. Haha!! I HAD to draw him. Guess what? He's now my favorite Captain Planet bad guy and Duke has dropped into second place. If you had told me this when I was a teen I would never have believed it. I did show Chris that ep. I had to. He did think it was funny. I showed him this drawing first and right away he said, "Who's that? He kind of looks like me." "Ah you noticed?" I said.

Now on the flip side, we both like She-Ra. And kind of the same thing happened. I was never a fan of Catra. There were cooler baddies that I liked. She annoyed me. But again as a child I never would have thought I'd grow up to look like her. Yes I do look just like Catra and when we watched the DVD's it was like a rediscovery. Those of you that have seen what we look like will agree we look like these respective characters. But I still don't like Catra. She's beautiful, I'll give her that, but she's not smart and she's one of those explosive angry villains. I can't stand that. And they went over board with the horrible cat voice. Ugh. At least Looten is smart though not a genius. So that is why I put them together. Our real cartoon selves. It's not that I think they would be a good cross over couple. I'm not big on pairing characters. They just happen to look like us. Probably last time I draw Catra, but I'll probably draw Mr. Plunder quite a bit. OH and it's because of the Alestorm song that it reminded me of him since they mention plundering.

Ok time for bird photos now.

Yesterday was a great walk. I saw several neat birds. This is a male Belted King Fisher. I don't see these too often.

I need a new camera. Mine takes pics that are grainy.

His tail is up. That's funny.

Big flock of American Crows

An orange farm and a turkey vulture. When I was coming home I was thrilled to find three turkey vultures on a fence. The same fence I saw the red shouldered hawk a few days ago. I wonder if it's a raptor fence...and not like the ones in Jurassic Park.

So cute! Of the two vulure species we have here the Turkeys are my faves.

The one that was on the ground flew away. Look in the upper right of the pic. I just barely got him. Flying pics are hard to get.

Two left.

I think there was a dead turtle but there wasn't much for them to eat.

I like how nice and close this turned out.

And as I was going to leave that field after I was done with the vultures I heard a whistle over head. An unmistakeable whistle. EAGLES! I looked up and was thrilled to see two adult bald eagles. I got all these pics. Not bad since they were so high up. A mated pair no doubt. The female is bigger.

Female's on the right.

I found this website that make custom action figures. It's called Hunter Knight Customs. It's amazing work he's done. I was looking up Catra videos for references and found this on youtube. I think I need to save up some money and perhaps hire him to make me custom figures of my characters. That would just rock so hard. He does a great job. I want Owen and Cope made first before any of my others.

Nice work on the picture. I'm not familiar with either of them other than when you mentioned them. But you drew them well.
I love the birds you get over there. Whenever I go to the USA the first thing I notice is the birds sound different to ours. I noticed that when I first went over there in 1998. It was weird to me at the age of 13 lol.

Thanks. Here are two videos with Catra. I couldn't find any of Looten Plunder. They must have pulled all the best ones.

The second one shows most the the She-Ra villains. I need to find the pic where I'm next to Catra. That was so neat how much we look alike. I wish my hair was as think as hers though.

I love going to places that have totally different birds. They always seem more interesting somewhere else. I was just telling Chris yesterday that Kabuldur has awesome birds and our North American birds are so normal and boring. Most of them are brown haha.

Hehe their voices are funny. I miss the 80s cartoon shows.

Yeah they all had funny voices for the most part. Too bad Catra's was so annoying. The 80's were great.

Those are great bird pictures, even if they are grainy. The kingfisher's little messy hair is so cute. I love the vulture pictures too.

I saw some other pictures of Plunder that you had put up before. He and Chris do look alike.

Thanks. I just need a new camera. I notice that cameras just go bad with time. I like how he could raise his crest. I'm glad you liked the vultures. They were so cute.

Yeah he does. Check out this old post. He really looks like him in the one of us on the beach. Same facial expression too. And at the bottom you can see me and Catra.

Those two characters look like a mature version of you and Chris. Don't worry about her hair. Your's is thick, too, because of the curls.

Those were cool pics of the birds. I KNEW you would want a camera like Kathy's! Good shots with the camera you have. Moving birds are really hard to photograph. The Turkey Vultures look a bit like our scrub turkeys. Kingfishers are always beautiful. I love that your one has a crest.

That is amazing that you could get custom figures made of your characters. I never knew such things existed. That suddenly makes them all the more real to me.

Later today I will make a post of their screen caps/art and our photos. It's pretty cool.

Thanks. Yes, she has a great camera. But I don't know if I could carry around such a big heavy camera eveywhere. I used to have one just like that when they used to be film. I even have the giant lens. Too bad they don't work with digital cams. Yeah they kind of do. And Kingfishers are found all over the world as differen species. The belted is one of the largest.

Yep, there are so many nerds here I'm glad one of them made a site like this. I haven't looked into it yet but I will. I have a feeling it will be super expensive though and it's for one figure. If I go through with it I have to make super detailed drawings with directions so he gets it right. I'm glad I made all those expressions now for Owen and Cope. I may use those as references.

I didn't think of you as a nerd for making such characters and doing all the drawings and wanting action figures of them. That's not nerdy to me!

I didn't know you had a camera like that when it was still the film days. Yeah, they are heavy, that's a big drawback. I don't take all my kit with me because of that. Most of the time, anyway. Maybe you can find a way of carrying it, like Kathy does. She has a basket on her bike.

What brand of camera did you have? A Canon? Gyro had Olympus at first but that got stolen in the 70s or early 80s in Holland when he was on his adventures before I met him, and then he went over to Pentax and he was so glad he did because all the lenses translated over to the new digital bodies. (Now he was a nerd, if ever there was one!).

I think you're a nerd in other ways, btw, but that's a compliment!

Cool pics of the birds! That kingfisher is a neat-looking one.

Your drawing turned out well. I used to watch Captain Planet, too. I can still sing the theme song on the closing credits. It's amazingly easy to get it stuck in your head.
