Nice quiet birthday
We had a very nice relaxing day today. For Chris's B-day we went to Golden Corral for breakfast. Then we went to Game Stop to put a down payment on Assasin's Creed. I actually can't wait to play this one myself. I've watched Chris play the others and never cared for them. Well not to play. I have enjoyed watching him play and following the story but just never had a desire to play. But this one takes place in America during the Revolution. I think that's awesome that other countries will see our awesome history through this game. So much of it looks cool. I like that they used real historical maps to build the towns and that there will be naval battles. That's gonna be cool. At least I hope so. Last few times I got excited about a new game I was majorly let down. But I am excited about this one and want to play it. Patriotic games are too far and few between. I have played Civil War a little and it was a very good game, but I never finished it because I just have a hard time getting into third person shooters. I feel so disembodied when all I can see are hands and a gun. I like seeing my character.

We didn't do the midnight release because it's way too cold. We'll get it tomorrow on the official day. I hate cold weather. The forecast was saying only tonight it would be in the upper 40's but now it's saying tomorrow night it will be the same. Noooo!!! I brought in almost all the nepenthes. They're in the garage. That's not good because they won't get much light in there, but at least they'll be warmer. I'll probably put some of my highlanders outside though since they like nights in the 40's.

I think I'm in an art slump. I feel like I've lost my abilities. I fought with making that stamp again today but finally finished it. I even made the galaxy background myself. It's up on my Owen-Marsh Deviantart account. You can see it Here. I'm very proud of how nice it turned out actually and that I made the border black. That was a last second change and it looks better than the white it originally had. It's fan stamp for Galactic Power Metal. I also inked a little tiny bit of Owen Hits the High Note. All day I've been feeling the urge to draw and work on stuff but I just haven't had the energy. It sucks being caught in the middle like this with strong desire but no energy.

Two days til Halloween!! I'm all excited but I probably won't do anything. Chris will likely be working and I'll probably just stay home. So I don't know what I'll do yet. I just looked outside and my new solar lights do work. I want more!

EBay has changed the look of their whole site. Of course I don't like it. I hate change. They've changed their logo. It was so nice before but now it has skinny font. Bah. And the thumbnails are thumbnails anymore. They're huge. Way too big and I see no option to make them smaller. Speaking of changed DA might change their upload page which has worked fine for years. It looks terrible. For some reason they chose my Owen-Marsh account to test it out and I'm stuck with it. They took away useful features and hid others. I left a short review of it on my front page and will make a journal there about it later. It's also white now so it will blind you. Luckily my main account didn't get selected for that. Sigh. Despite the 900+ comments they got on the survey you know they're going to roll it out because I've been online long enough to know it doesn't matter what the members say. These sites are not democracies.

EDIT: Oh one more thing. Almost forgot. Today is also Bob Ross's birthday. He's 70. He's the "happy little trees" artist that shows you how to paint on TV. I used to watch his show in the 80's. That's awesome him and Chris have the same Birthday. I picked out a youtube clip at random of him. You can see it HERE. He's funny how he describes things. "Have to leave place for little bird's feets" Haha. He also used to make cute sound effects when he made brush motions so he's fun to watch for kids. I was captivated back then.

I hate it when I want to do stuff but don't have energy. I force myself out, but the last time I felt energetic was Saturday, and that was because I drank a 5-hour energy shot.

Speaking of changing sites, they changed the front page of Youtube again. I know you don't use the front page, but I do, and now I can't filter it anymore so only my subscriptions' uploads come up. If they like or fave anything it shows up on the front page feed now. And they took off the recommended videos bar off the right side of the front page. They mix the recommended ones into the feed.

Yeah, it's been rather frustrating. But you can't force art. I know I've tried.

Sorry to hear that. How annoying.

That is so neat that you watched Bob Ross. I watched him every week (and probably saw every one of his shows) for all the years he was on TV and was so sad when he passed away. His style influenced me in many ways and has always stayed with me. I loved his soft voice and kind, gentle personality. I remember him feeding his little squirrel on the show. I'm sure watching him (and Bill Alexander) is the reason I loved oils so much. I learned from them how to blend, how to paint with a fan brush and palette knife, using them almost exclusively for years. I always bought and used all their paints and brushes and still have a lot of them today.

Happy Birthday, Chris and Bob.

Oh no. I didn't know he had died. I used to love watching his show in the 80's when I was a kid. I also loved watching a show about two guys that would walk in the woods or the beach and ID different animals and plants. The music was so pretty. It would start with the Vivaldii's Concerto for Guitar in D but I can't remember the name of that show. I can't find anything about it because I can't remember the name to look it up. I don't remember the squirrel, that must have been in later seasons after I stopped watching him. That's great you leanred from him. Yes the show was very relaxing and comical.

He died many years ago, back in the 90s I think. He died of lymphoma (sp?) Did you know he was from Orlando?

I think I know the other show you are talking about with the two guys, but I can't remember the name of it either.

That's too bad. No I didn't know he was a local. That's cool.

Yeah, I wish I could remember that name.
BTW, did you see my post about my trip to Bradenton? It's here

Happy birthday to Chris!

I hate the cold, too. I feel for you!

And that would suck having the desire to do art but no energy.

What a pity DA chose your Owen-Marsh account. It's a pity the changes weren't good ones! Then it would have been awesome.

Aaaw...Bob Ross was a good guy :)

It's pretty cold right now.
Perhaps today things will be different.
I know how those sites go, but I hope they won't change it.
Yeah, I loved watching him.

Happy birthday to Chris!
I was in a bit of an art slump before I left for Ireland but that was cos I'd been drawing a lot. Then again so have you. I haven't drawn much since I got here so I'm having a rest from it.
I haven't seen the new eBay page, I'll see it next time I go on I guess. My Silvolf account has the new upload page and has for a while but I'm a Beta tester so I get stuff like that before everyone else. I gave my feedback about it to the staff on the beta testers forum thing.

I'll let him know you said that.
I wonder if that's why. I used up my abilties temporarily because I've done a lot.
Oh what did you say? I hate it. There's no need to change it. I wonder why Owen was singled out to test it?
The Silver Wolf of Darkness: Chisilvolf on November 4th, 2012 09:59 pm (UTC)
I said the new upload thing was ok but I hated that it wouldn't let you start writing about the deviation until it had finished uploading. The next time I tried to upload something though, I could write while it was uploading. I have no idea if that had anything to do with what I said.
