Trip to Bradenton
I went with Chris on a job to Bradenton. I always enjoy that ride and keeping him company. We stopped by the Walgreens on Manatee Ave and I was so happy to find more Halloween Solar Stakes. I saw these last year and only bought one purple and one blue that were on clearance. I used them for the first time this year and am very impressed with how nice they light up. But they are last year's item so no Walgreens had them in my cities. I was disapointed. But this location had several and we we didn't know they were on sale. Originally $2.99 they were like $1.99. We only got two orange ones but I hope Chris can go back and pick up more of both colors. Here's what they look like.

I like the orange ones better because they light up better at night. I'd love to get lots of these so I can make several rows in my front garden. I love these things. The job was nice too. It was a nice subdivision so I took the opportunity to take my walk. I managed a 20 minute walk which is good. The customer was nice too. I showed her photos of my budgie gourds and she liked them. On the way we noticed a church that had a big pumpkin patch. So once the job was done Chris took me there.

I love seeing churches selling pumpkins for Halloween. And I've noticed that the Methodist churches for some reason have the best pumpkins. They are the biggest and have the largest varities. We didn't buy anything because I'm pretty set with pumpkins and I still want to go to the one closer to us if I get any more. But it was fun to run through the pumpkins.

I really wanted the tall one in the front.

This was a funny sign.

We saw this funny liscense plate on the interstate. It says "AHHHHH". So we were yelling that in the car. AHHHHH!!

The next few pics are of birds that I saw on my walk yesterday. Click on them for full size.

A fish crow. You can only tell a fish crow from an American crow by their call. Fish crows have nasal Caws while American crows have the deep raspy Caws.

A Palm Warbler.

Yellow Rumped Warbler in a birdbath in someone's front yard.

Same bird. It was just neat to see it in the birdbath.

So I haven't been home at all today. It was a good day. Long drive there and back. Oh we did have a bad night though. We've been here five years and this has never happened. Our backyard neighbor had a party at 2:30 AM and woke us up with loud music. We called the cops right away and they weren't partying very long. But we lost sleep and have been tired today. Jerks. I hope someone got arrested. We were hoping they'd find under aged drinkers. That would have been great. Our town is mostly for seniors. WTF is wrong with these people? That's one reason we like it here. Old people tend to be quiet and mind their own business.

So other than that today was very good. Chris's birthday is the 29th. Tomorrow evening his parents are going to take us to dinner at Red Lobster. I'm looking forward to a yummy rainbow trout.

UGH, all my moods look the same. It's bugging me.

Cute little birds. We have Yellow-rumped warblers here, but I don't think I've seen one in a long time. We don't have as many bird feeders out as we used to.

I'd be mad if partying neighbors woke me up at 2:30 am too. Luckily my neighborhood is pretty quiet.

I sent Chris a birthday PM here on LJ. I hope he got it.

Yes, I did get it! Thank you so much! hehe

Yes, I wish I had a shotgun to fire in the air and disperse the party crowd.

When you have them they are in summer colors and much nicer than our brown fall ones. Yeah the winter birds should be the only ones staying now.
We were petty mad.
Thanks for sending him one.

Sounds like you had a great day (except for the way it ended -- I feel for you with the noisy neighbors!), and happy birthday to Chris! Loved all the pics.

Yes, it was nice. We enjoyed it. Thanks. I like sharing pics. More interesting than having an all text post.

Great photos! I love the solar lights, those are really neat. I really wish Halloween was as big here. The pumpkin patch looks fun to explore as well.
Ergh loud music. How annoying. I remember my fights with the neighbors and their music. We threatened to call the police and we had words with the landlord and they stopped. All the same, that old couple on the floor below have left because of the kids weight lifting on the floor above and not having something padded to put the weights down on so they thump.
Happy early birthday to Chris! I remember fishing for rainbow trout with my cousins.

Thanks. Those are such neat things. I hope I can find more of them and not have to drive all the way out there.
Arg, I remember the troubles you had. Glad it's over for the most part. We weren't going to stand for that and called the cops right away. That hasn't happened since but it's just strange because it never used to be like this for five years. I wonder if they are new people because it used to be an old couple. Now I see girls there and they got a dog which is very annoying and a guy that smokes. I think the original couple moved which would suck.
Thanks. No plans for today but we'll see what he wants to do. I've never done that. But I have seen big trout in rivers in Georgia.

Mmm, Red Lobster! I hope you and Chris have fun going out for his birthday.

The "AHHH" license plate would've cracked me up, too. That person must make people laugh everywhere he or she goes.

That's cool you found the lights and got to walk through the pumpkin display. I wish I'd had time to hit a farm or something this year to do that, but I wasn't able to.

Thanks. Yesterday's dinner was good.

That was a great plate. I love seeing funny ones like that. They were from out of state too.

It was a nice day. I bet you guys must have awesome pumpkin patches up there.

It must be cool to visit all the pumpkin patches.

I like all your bird photos. Most people would not be able to identify them off the tops of their heads like that. It's interesting to see birds similar to but different from mine.

It's one of my favorite things to do all through October. I still haven't been to my favorite one, but may not be able to now that time's running out.

I'm good with most songbirds, crows, raptors and such, but these warblers (flitty birds) and seabirds I just don't really bother because they all look the same. I didn't know what these little warblers were until I looked at the pics zoomed in. It is neat how birds are similar in such different areas because similar body plans form to fill the same niches, for example insect eaters.

Flitty birds, hehe. There's so many nectar eaters here that they are very hard to distinguish one from another.

Yeah, they would occupy similar niches.
