That sore throat I had did get me down the night before last. I've been taking Zaicam and I'm amazed that that stuff works. I don't think it became a full cold because of it but I was in bed all day yesterday and had the sore throat, pressure in my head, mild headache and runny nose. I'm much better today and have energy though I can't speak much still because my throat feels raspy, but it's loads better. Sore throats get worse at night for some reason.

But I had my laptop in bed which was great so I was able to keep in touch and it was also a nice break for my hand from the mouse. I needed a day away from mousing. I felt better in the evening so I had enough energy to repot two nepenthes that really needed it. I need to repot a few more still.

I've been meaning to share this neat video about Parrots "naming" each other. It's funny they worded it like that but I'm not surprised since they would need to identify members of the family and flock.

I got a little further going over my story yesterday. I hope to do more today as well. I'm going to try to work on some art. I'd like do work on the next dino scene but don't now if I'll do that or something else.
I took a 20 minute walk today since I'm not fully recovered yet. I just went to the back neighborhood. It's not so nice but it's an easy flat walk. I did get some pics that are ok of a crow and a warbler. The Fall warblers are down now. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between a Palm Warbler and a yellow rump. I think Yellow rumps are what are the most common thing down here during this time. I call them "Earth birds" because they can be on the ground and you won't see them til they fly up. It looks like they came out of the earth. Really funny.

That is a wonderful and interesting video, full of lots of good and new stuff for me. The parrots are the most beautiful green color, too!

That's a good name--"earth birds." So many birds (including some water birds (like the little herons for me) could be called that because I don't see them until I've come too close and they fly away, and I get no shot of them. Good to know the Palm & Yellow Rump Warblers are back, and I'll be looking for them now.

I'm glad people are bringing this to light. I find it funny that this has to be Proved when parrot owners have know about this stuff for years. Yeah they have lovely colors.

Yeah some birds you don't see until you're real close. But with the yellow rumped warblers it's amazing that an entire flock can be on the ground and you don't see it until they take off so it really looks like they're coming out of the ground. Hee hee. I love calling them "Earth birds".

That's a cute video you posted. It doesn't surprise me either. All my budgies have had their own unique chirp, and I remember that Larry used to imitate Skippy's chirp. I also remember that Rudy and Nigel both had quite different contact chirps when I got them than they do now.

Yeah, parrot owners know this already. I have noticed my budgies have unique calls too. I miss Blu's little boops and beeps. Optic doesn't make the cute two note cheep she used to when I first brought her home. She did that for like two days and now I realize it's stopped. Too bad.

I think sore throats are worse at night cos we sleep with our mouths open and they get dry.
The video is interesting! I would have replied to this last night but I was updating my computer and it took longer than I thought lol!

Yes, I wake up very dry.
That's ok. I'm glad you liked it.

That Zaicam sounds like wonderful stuff :)

That's a very interesting video. It doesn't surprise me that parrots can learn their names. It is cool that they each have an individual name. Birds are a lot like humans in some ways.

Earth Bird is a cool name :)

Yes, it's really helped out.

I like how they mentioned that those of us that own pet parrots know this already.

I thought it was a cute name for them.
