Fall is here
I feel well enough to type a little. Let's see how far I can get. Fall is here. I'm very happy about that. My garden is doing well. I have female flower buds on three of my pumpkin plants. I must take pics of them. I harvested some males a while back and put them in the fridge so I can pollinate the females once they open. The melonworms have gotten worse and are really attacking my plants now. They have been worse than anything else. I have been fighting them with Sevin and Bt. It seems to be sort of working but there has been heavy damage to some of the plants. I need to keep up my weekly spraying and the next step is to fortify the patch against the chickens. Now that there are baby pumpkins showing up I don't want them to find those and eat them because they will.

I have been spending most of my online time with my youtube friends. I don't have to type as much and it's easier to watch videos. I am enjoying everyone else's pumpkin gardens there. I am slowly putting out the Fall decorations. I'm trying to hold off on the Halloween stuff until Oct 1st, but I probably won't be able to wait that long. Some of it has already snuck out like my Trick or Treat wood sign.

Yesterday and the day before I worked more on my drawing and finished shading Owen. Though yesterday it really hurt my hand. I want to work on it more today because I'm closer to finishing, but I won't. My hand needs to rest. All that's left now are the lights on Cope and Owen and then the black lines and I think I'll be done. I'm tempted to show what I got and ask questions because I'm not sure if I put some of the shadows in the right places yet. That's always hard for me. But I also don't like showing work in progress because I feel it ruins the surprise and the impact of the final product if that's the only thing you had seen. I feel you loose the "wow" factor by showing the steps. I also feel I lose comments along the way doing that. What do you guys think? Do you want to see where I'm kinda stuck or wait til I'm done? The bad thing about waiting til I'm done is the waiting. Now I'm even slower than ever because I have to do only a little when I feel well. But that's better than doing it only when I felt like it which was not a good thing either.

Chris hooked up the DVD recorder to the Xbox and now I can record cinemas from my game. I've only recorded a few. It definitely looks better. It's too bad that now that I don't need a capture card I can't remember what all the ideas were I wanted to do when I didn't have one. I've been waiting so long I kinda gave up on that so now I don't remember the plans I had. I hate that! So for now I'm just recording cinemas of Owen.

I need to change the banner for my Fall one. I may do that later today. Oh and today is an anniversary. We observe every 4th. So that makes 16 years 7 months.

Edit: BTW, does anyone know why when I click on a link when I do a yahoo search it opens the page in a new browser? I hate that. It started doing it a few weeks ago and don't know if there's a setting somewhere to stop it. I don't want a new browser opening I want to stay in the same one. This happens both on firefox and IE.

Glad to hear your garden is doing well. I hope your baby pumpkin flowers thrive.

Good luck with your drawing. Maybe you could just show the in progress part to a filter of people who can give you advice about the problem you're having? That way you're not showing it to everyone but can still get some feedback.

Hum, that's an idea. I only have two filters anyone. One's for stories. May-be I'll make one for art questions.

Its cool you guys can all share and look at each others' gardens. It must be nice to see the progress of them with your friends.
Yeah same here. I recently drew a picture of Justin Hawkins and I really wanted to show a WIP but I didn't because of the same reason. I will comment on all the pictures you post but I do agree it ruins the surprise. If you're really proud of it and really want opinions on it though, go ahead and post it! If its going to take a while to finish, then people won't have such a fresh memory of the WIP in their minds so it will be sort of new to them.
Happy anniversary! Sadly I don't know what's up with Yahoo, I don't use it.

Yeah, I love that. I feel like I know their yards. But this year it's been sad too because of the drought and bugs a lot of them up north have had crop failures.
Yeah, I don't like showing progress because to me it's all about final product. But I always get stuck on shading and need advice on that hehe. Luckily it has been a long time since I posted the WIP of it last, but I added Cope's jet lines which I want to save for the final part. I think I'll just finish it and then ask questions since I can still change it.
Thanks. I just tested it with google and it doesn't do that so it's got to be yahoo. That's annoying.

I was wondering about your hand/wrist and glad it is doing a little better. It's almost time for your next doctor appointment, isn't it? I thought you said it was on the 6th.

I usually like to see things all at once when it is complete, but also showing some of the steps you took to get there when you post the finished work. When I did the Susandennis windows, she specifically asked for progress details as it went along. I was glad to do it, but it was a tremendous amount of extra work remembering to photograph and then write about everything. I do like to make one post in the beginning of something, explaining what I am going to be doing and talk about it a little, then when it is all done show the finished results.

Yes it's on the 6th. I'm looking forward to it and hope the can figure something out. It hurts every day and they take turns changing from left to right. I don't get the electrical charges as much or as strong as that one day but they are still there. I don't think it's just arthritis. I don't think it's supposed to have all this extra weird painful stuff.

I remember that and loved seeing the progress but I think that's different. The changes I make on my art are pretty subtle. You don't notice big differences until the end. If you remember the progress I posted for my Christmas card a lot of it looked the same. I do that too. I like to show my pencil drawing then the final computer colored version. I'm so close to finishing I'm just going to hold my questions until the end.

I'm glad your autumn has arrived. I thought spring had come but then it got colder again. The first day of spring was freezing! Funnily enough half an hour's drive west of here and down off the range it was lovely wand warm - sunny and no wind. It should warm up soon. It's not like mid-winter or anything. I'm sorry your bug population is so high, though.

I was wondering how you were doing with your hand. I was worrying about you, but if you've been on You Tube then that's good because you can still communicate woith people. It will be good for you to see the doctor again.

Re: Your drawing, I find it spoils the surprise, though sometimes it's nice to get peopele's advice on a hard bit and I would comment if you did post the bit where you are havig trouble with the shadows. It must be hard to wait until the finished product! Also, people don't realise the amount of work you put in if they only see the finished result.

Awww...that's nice that Chris hooked up the DVD recorder to the Xbox. It's a pity you can't remember your ideas now, but it will be there next time you get one. Congratulations on your anniversary!

It's still pretty hot here, but yesterday seemed slightly better. Hopefully our temps will get to where we like them soon for both of us. I think it's their last chance before the cool weather comes so the moths are really upping their assaults.

Thanks for thinking of me. My hands take turns hurting. Hopefully I can get some results tomorrow.

Yeah, I really don't like to post my progress and when it comes to other's art like mine I don't like to see it either because it looks crappy unfinished. The waiting is the hardest part especially for me. I want to have it done the way I envision it right now. Too bad it can't be that way. It is a slow process.

Yes I'm so glad. I'm sure I'll come up with some ideas for recording stuff because I want to share with you guys why I like this game so much. Thanks.
