Pics of some of my nepenthes
I finally got the AC fixed today. The guy who worked at this place Lu is gone because he had a family emergency, but I think one of the owners came out. He was very nice and refilled the freon that was gone and fixed a part that was rusted out. It was expensive but once we felt the cool air it was worth it. My plant tank isn't over heating during the day now which is wonderful! So I am almost broke. It sucks but it had to be done. I need to keep saving.

Chris was home all day today which was nice. I'm glad he was here because I prefer he be here when we have service calls like this. Usually it's just me dealing with the repair guys. He's been working on his game room. He's going to move the Rage machine out and add more shelves. It's looking really cool in there now. We'll be able to display most of our collections. So cool!!

I took pics of my nepenthes. Check out my N. reinwardtiana red. It's gotten its biggest pitcher yet and is quite beautiful.

Is this N. reinwardtiana?

I have this growing outside on the screen. This is one of the few neps I have actually noticed growth on during this year. I like fast growing plants. More pics.

Is this reinwardtiana?

This pitcher is about 3 inches long.

Bicalcarata new pitcher

An inflating red bicalcarata pitcher. It will be the first one to form in my care.

Lowes ventricosa closed pitcher

This is the Lowe's Ventricosa I traded for. This was my first plant and it is getting its first pitcher. I love the colors and how long it is.

Lowes ventricosa closed pitcher again

I put this one in the kitchen next to my 4th of July center piece.

Another Lowe's nepenthes

And lastly another Lowe's nepenthes I traded for. The pitcher on the right is the first one that's grown in my care. That's always exciting.

My desert garden is coming along nicely too. We went to Lowe's today and Chris bought me a little American flag. I wanted it to put out front in the garden. I'd like to get four more to make a display out there. Things are going quite well. I find myself thinking about Cope and Owen and at the same time thinking about Cyrex my dino character and getting back to his story. We'll see if I can get back into art.

The colours of the pitchers are so neat! Glad the game room looks good too. Lol in England most houses don't have AC; it's never warm enough!

Yeah I love how glossy they are. That's really weird. Everyone has AC even in the north here.

It's sounding like you might get back into your art. It would be good to shelter from the heat in your air con.

I love your red N. reinwardtiana. And the others. It's cool you got to trade some for others you don't already have.

Yeah, I'm thinking about my art a lot so that eventually does lead up to making somthing.

Thanks, I'm impressed with how it's turned out.

What a pretty pitcher that first one is. I've thought about this but never asked. Do Nepenthes get flowers? I've never seen them on any of your plants.

I like the 4th of July centerpiece too. I like shiny things like that.

Yes nepenthes get flowers. They aren't very pretty compared to the pitchers they make. They are male and female plants too, which is annoying for breeding. I'd like to have a pair of each of my favorite species but you can't know the gender until they make a flower. None of my plants are old enough to make flowers yet. And I only know the gender of a few of them because they were cuttings someone gave me of an adult plant that had previously flowered. My Lowe's nepenthes, the spotted pink pitcher in this post is a male. And unfortunately there are more males than females. I think it's like 70% males so I always hope I'll get a female first.

Thanks. Here's a pic of more of it. I'll have to get a pic of the whole thing.
