New tank set up
I have uploaded a bunch of photos to flickr today. I'm so happy to have finally set up my giant tank. So some progress pics.

Woops, forgot to take progress pics

Here it is almost done. It wasn't until this stage that I realized I'd forgotten to log the progress. Those blocks are too heavy to take it apart and do it all over again. This time I wanted more green than black. The shelves before were too dark and you couldn't see anything on them. Now this looks much better.

Just needs the top shelf now

Two more bricks.

Tops shelf and stand is done

And done! This does work for an aquarium full of water and rocks. The only difference is that you have to put three 2x4's under the top plywood shelf. Since mine is a terrarium it doesn't need that. That top plywood is also higher quality furniture grade. Now with the tank behind the cut.

Chris wheels the new tank over.

The tank will fit perfectly

It will fit perfectly. I've already got egg carton inside it.

Tank in place

Perfect. Now for some plants.

Nepenthes tank

The light finally fits on the whole thing. The mist is on for the plants.

New Nepenthes tank. Happy Plants

The mist clearning away. I still have my older smaller tank. I will use it for raising out small baby plants.

Raptor hatchling boxed front

This is my Jurassic Park Raptor Hatchling in his box. One of the pride and joys of my collection.

Raptor Hatchling opened

Inside his egg. The eyes on this figure are incredible. I love that they follow you when you turn him.

Raptor Hatchling 01

Very accurate with the one in the movie. I love this.

And today I made a batch of jars with media for tissue culture. Tomorrow I will try to sterillize some seeds of nepenthes, darlingtonia and heliamphora. Wish me luck that I clean them right and there's no contamination this time. I feel more confident this year. I want it to succeed this time. I heard back from the guy about the over seas order too. Sounds like it will happen. He's been posting the progress with the vendor. Woo hoo! I can't wait.

Wow! I can imagine how much fun you've been having putting this together. What a fantastic job you did with the blocks and the tank. It all looks so good, and I love the colors. The black really sets the aqua off nicely. Happy growing!

It's very relaxing to sit in front of especially when you first turn on the mist and it rains down like a waterfall. Thanks. I love these colors.
