Tomorrow's Easter!
Early Happy Easter everyone. It snuck up on me. I'm looking forward to dying eggs tomorrow. Today was a day off and a great time. We went to a store in Tampa called Worm's Way. It's an awesome garden store specializing in rare stuff for like seed starting and hydroponics. There was so much stuff I wanted but I got the main things on my list. I got a liquid rooting hormone and a special orchid fertilizer that's urea free. It's not for my orchids but for my nepenthes. You give it to them twice a month at 1/4 strength. I've heard great things about this Grow More stuff so I can't wait to feed it to my neps on the 15th.

Then we went to USF botanical gardens. I filmed the Sarracenia area and hope I got enuogh footage to remake the Sarracenia video from last year. It didn't look as good as last year's and I think I didn't go at the same time. But the main reason I went there was because I wanted to take pics of a small green house they have that's got a PVC frame so I can make my own. I am determined to make one for indoors so I can grow those highland nepenthes. There are a few obstacles I need to figure out how to over come first and I've been brain storming them.

We came home and reseted a whilen the Chris took me to Wal-mart and got me a pool!

I have a pool!

Hehe, a kiddy pool for my Sarracenias. I really wanted a pink one because other colors besides blue are really rare. I don't even have enough Sarracenais to fill this up with yet but I hope that will change in the future. I'd like to Something this awesome in my yard.

Happy Birthday. You're not dead!

And my N. hamata is a month old today. I'm so happy it's been with me that long and I haven't killed it. It is growing.

My first hamata pitcher

That green pitcher is the first one that's grown under my care. But it's green and deformed. I don't know why it didn't color up when it had pleanty of light. But there are two new leaves coming in so I'm hoping those two pitchers will be better.

It's a tiny squirt

But it's still a tiny thing. I hate the medium it came in and that it's in a net pot. I can't wait for it to get big enough to repot.

That's about it. I've been out pretty much all day. Need to catch up on some things and emails.

I like the pool idea, that's really neat. Hehe I take photos of things too, to help me make my own things. In fact I used the plushies I have already to help me with plushie patterns for the ones I was making.

Thanks. I was fascinated when I saw Sarracenias kept in them for the first time. Yes, I really needed to get those refs of their greenhouse. It will help a lot. I can't wait to start building mine.

Happy Easter! Glad your plants are growing and doing well. You'll have to show a picture of that pool when you get it set up. Kiddie pools are so handy for stuff. That's what we have for our ducks in their pen.

Happy Easter. I definitely will. Right now I only have I think three Sarracenias that are big enough to go in it. I love the rare colors like this. I've only seen pink and purple as blue is the most common. Unfortunately I'm going to have to cover them with liner so you won't see the colors anyway. I don't want the sun to break them down after a year.

I don't think I've ever seen a kiddie pool that isn't blue. It will be neat when it is full.

UNCC has a botanical garden. I haven't been to the whole thing, only the greenhouse that had that huge stinky flower that I don't remember the name of that bloomed a few years ago. They have a carnivorous plant room, and I want to see that.

Those nepenthes look like cartoons.

Happy Easter.

There are purple ones too but they are rare. Yeah, hopefully I can get more Sarracenias for flytraps for it.

That would be neat. I like universtiy based botanical gardens.

Yeah they are funny looking when young.

Happy Easter to you too.

That's a really nice looking kiddy pool ya got there. I'm sure your Sarracenias are in for a treat. Your insect eaters look all green and healthy too.

I think my dad and I are going to try growing and selling vegetable plants around the front of my bookstore this summer. A long time ago Dad used to work around greenhouses and we get a lot of our plants from the guy who owns the them.

Thanks. I hope I can set up something nice outside with it.

That would be cool. It would look pretty to have tomatoes outsdie or decorative cabbage.

My dad's considered on tomato plants already. ^^ Waiting and seeing how we'll plan that out.

Happy Easter and I hope your egg dying went well.

What a cool name for a store. I think Rhodielady would love it.

That pool will come in handy.

That's a really cool pic of your N. hamata. I hope it grows better the longer you have it. Early days yet.

Happy Easter to you too. The egg dying was fun. I need to post pics of it.
I hope I can have it be like that guy's one day.
Yeah it's still young and has lots of growing to do.
