The Sun and the Fire
I'm very creative right now and have been thinking about my characters. My stories are based on science though. I was talking with Chris the other day about the sun and how it affects sun gods' age where they are located in the galaxy. We say the sun is 4.5 billion years old. But those are earth years. Sorath wouldn't think of himself in those terms. The sun does go around the galaxy and that's called the galactic year or cosmic year. I know that the sun has made about 20 trips around the galaxy. It's middle aged so it will make it around another 20 times before it goes super nova. But how long is a galactic cycle? I found This great article that explains it well and breaks down mathmatically how to figure it out. Basically a galactic year is about 223 million years. So starting now the last galactic year was in the Jurassic period. That's one year for Sorath. So his life span is about 40 galactic years. Suns of the same class closer to the center have shorter galactic years and they make the trip around the center much faster.

I made a new awesome drawing today. I've had the idea for a long time to draw a scene of how Owen got his powers. I finally did that today and think this turned out pretty well. Depending on if you love or hate Owen you'll feel differently when you see this drawing. Regardless I want to hear it.

Owen didn't always have fire. He aquired it quite by accident. He never wanted it. The "unknown sample" Thanatos gave him was a piece of Thagirion's flesh. Owen was working alone with it in the lab when it exploded and latched on to him. The fire had a mind of its own and trapped him on a side of the lab where there was no extinguisher. He couldn't get out and he burned to death. It was a horrific experience for him when he finally came back three days later as a fire gifted. This one will be fun to color. I don't know when I'll get around to coloring it though. I do have a list of art that's majorly backed up. I need to put all these in a folder and set it aside as my To Do pile. I do want to make two more of these since I am thinking of about two more poses that would be great. Perhaps make it a series like I have the two for Owen Pained.

I think things are more believable if they are based on science and fact. Sadly I'm naff at those things so I try and make my own worlds and own theories.

The picture is cool and yes, you can probably guess I feel sorry for him!

I love this type of stuff and making sure my ideas are right.

Thanks. Yeah, I figured you'd feel sorry for him. I do too. Though he ended up better for it, though he'd disagree with that.

I'd never heard of that. I just looked it up. Would be neat to see some one do it but I have no skill or interest in any kind of textile art. I can easily make all the lines one color once I'm doing with the inking process.

oops red ink will do it too

When I first started out with Thagirion I used to draw him with red outlines against a black background. It did look neat.
