Gifts, chickens, pumpkins and cold
I know you're out of town right now but I wanted to say thanks to actipton80 for the lovely Halloween gifts. I loved the drawings you made for me of the budgie, pumpkins, gourds, kestrel and vulture. You definitely know what I like. The descriptions were so cute and I liked that you drew Puck in a difficult pose well. Birds looking straight forward are hard. They were adorable. And the feathers. Here's what came in the package.

Pretty glass diamonds. A pumpkin Peep and little wooden pumpkins.

Here's the peep opened up.

They are orange inside. I liked this. I actually found the dark chocolate ones somewhere. For once I didn't like that one. But I liked this milk chocolate one. I usually prefer dark so I was pleasantly surprised. I hadn't noticed the worried pumpkin in the corner. Haha, looks like he's afraid because I bit his friend and he might be next.

Here's a view of my CD shelf with some Halloween decorations out.

The newest addition to the shelf.

The edge of the shelf. Notice the cute ghost lights. I've realized something just a few days ago. Everyone knows pumpkins are my favorite Halloween icon. But I think my second favorite are ghosts. I didn't know this until I realized I have quite a bit of ghost stuff. If I don't get pumpkins I've been getting ghosts. I like white ghosts that are cute and roundular. Chris says it's because they look like budgies sort of. I hadn't realized it. He might be on to something. So yeah I think ghosts are my second faves. It's amazing how I can go for years not knowing something about myself. Like that what I loved about metal was the bass guitar. Some of my favorite songs have really havey bass solos.

This is the only pumpkin growing in my decimated patch. Well it's not growing anymore but it hasn't gone soft. I think it's a We-Be-Little. That means it'sa miniature and will stay this size. So if I get one pumpkin this year this will probably be the only one. I hope it will orange up for Halloween. Kind of silly that if I get one it will be a tiny one out of all the plants that I had. I think I had close to 100 plants when I started. But that was the plan and it worked out like the mass reproduction does in nature. Hundreds of offspring but only one or two survive. I love the neat immature colors on this.

Tailess chicken! Haha, that's Henrietta. She looks terrible

She's so round now. That's Mocha in the background. She's molting too and her tail is shorter than normal. It was worse a week ago. I think those are new feathers that haven't grown all the way yet.

Here she is again.

Here's Omega. I think she's actually done with her molt. She looks good. Omega really is an omega. Everyone else picks on her.

Here's Raptor. She's scruffy too. She's a middle bird so she gets her neck and tail feathers pulled by Henrietta, Zucca and sometimes Expresso. But then she can take it out on Mocha, Gamma and Omega.

Zucca and The Cheeper. Cheeper looks good. I think she finished her molt and still lays eggs. Zucca is finishing but you can still see she has patches missing.

I'm loving this Acustic Version of Finntroll's Under Bergets Rot. They retitled it Under Dvargens Fot. Hehe I'm not even sure how to pronounce that. They added extra sound effects like wind, what sound like gremlins, claps and at the very end it sounds like a very deep angry budgie. This song doesn't make me think of a haunted house as much though it does have the ghost sound effect. It even has a show tunes feel. I can imagine gremlins in fancy suits on stage doing a stiff funny dance like Bugs Bunny did.

I've been listening to this so much since I can't play it it's really inspiring images of things to draw. I'm going to tell you guys something about Thagirion you didn't know. Thagirion loves to throw parties once in a while down in Hell. He loves to throw them but not so much particiapte. He hangs back and watches the other demons have fun and go nuts. The place is always trashed. Of course there's music like this and Thag will sing. His voice is high pitched usually like black metal but sometimes he can go low and I can imagine him singing this to his minions. He remains calm while everyone else around him is going nuts. Actually I have an old drawing where he's singing to a bunch of griffins. But it would be neat if I could make one with lots of detail.

It's cold. A cold front moved it and it dropped into the 50s and 60s. Tonight it will be in the 50s again. Not good.

Those are cool gifts! I remember the chocolate Peep you sent me, it was yummy!
Hehe roundular chickens! The ghost lights are so cute! I like ghosts too. I was always a ghost for Halloween as a kid.

Yeah, I was really happy with them. I'll see about sending you some of the chocolate pumpkins if I can find them. That's an easy costume too. Yeah ghosts are cute. I used to make little ones out of tissue and cotton balls.

I'm posting this from my sister in law's computer so blame any typos on that. The little wooden pumpkins are actually acorns that have been painted. I had some trouble with Puck's picture, but he's so cute I had to draw him. I used a photo for the vulture, but the budgie was totally freehand. I like that little fat bird on the end of the Halloween shelf.

Oh wow. Hi. I didn't expect to hear from you for a few days. I'm glad you found a computer you could use. Yeah I really liked the gifts. Bah, I'm not worried about typos.

Oh cool! I didn't know they were acorns. That's really neat and they're very nice. I loved him and all the drawings.
Thanks. He's made from a gourd. I got him from an Inca store they had out in Tarpon Springs. Sadly it's gone now. I'm glad I got him. I can hear the seeds inside and would love to get them but don't ever want to make a hole him.

What a good freind to send you those gifts. I never thought of making pumpkins out of wood. I wondered if those were acorns and they are!

Sometimes it's hard to find out things about yourself. Like me, you probably know yourself really well, but sometimes it's easier for someone on the outside looking in.

And hooray, you got a pumpkin! It's very pretty. I know, only small, and only one out of so many, but I know now it's very difficult to grow pumpkins in your climate. I love your evil scientist plans for growing pumpkins in your garage :)

I loved your photos of your chickens. So pretty. And only slightly scruffy :)

Yeah, I was giddy yesterday. I never thought of that either. Now I want to try it. But the acorns here from Live Oaks don't have caved in bottoms so they won't stand. I'll have to experiment and see.

Yeah, I do know myself well. I'm very introspective as you know and always trying to learn more about myself. I'm just always surprised when I make a discovery like that. Especially if it's something that's been there all along and obvious. Yeah sometimes it helps if others point stuff out.

Yeah, I hope it makes it. Hehe, I definitely want to try the garage idea. But I still need to clear out room for that.

Thanks. They look so funny. There are feathers all over the patio.
