Gourd harvest
I hurt my back yesterday. I was in the pumpkin patch spraying and all I did was bend over to look at a leaf. Nothing crazy that I shouldn't be doing. It was like the motion for a toe touch. Well it hurt a lot. I thought I was going to fall over. When I got back inside I realized it was really bad. So I was down all day yesterday and spent it going between being in bed with the Xbox, coming on the computer once in a while and just trying to rest. It's pretty bad and one of those things where even lying down no pose really helps. No improvements this morning. I'm still hurting a lot. There's way too much stuff to do for me to be hurt. I am taking it easy and know better but my mind wants to be up and going places and doing things.

I did beat Old World Blues yesterday as Cope and got the best ending. I saved all the scientists. When I play through as Owen I'll be evil and kill everyone except for Dr. Mobius. Hehe, gosh I just can relate to him too much. He's so cute. Love his personality. One of the conversations that I loved was when I asked him what his master plan was he'd forgotten because he's old. Then he said something like, "But I'm sure it was brilliant and unnecessarily complicated." Haha, yeah that's how my plans are. Why do we go for the hardest way first? Hee hee. I also loved how Dr. Mobius talked about his failures with no trouble at all. "Well then I guess that was a total failure. Oh well." or "Back to the drawing board." In this regard INTJ's and INTP's are VERY different. P's do not take failure well and they will likely give up after one and keep it to themselves. INTJ's aren't bothered by failure. They shrug it off and try again and again and again and sometimes don't know when to quit. In fact I think failure fuels us because we haven't reach the goal and we will reach it and we're better prepared each time around. We don't make the same mistakes, we make all new ones hehe. This was also the running theme with Megamind.

I got a teensy bit of writing done too. Just one paragraph but perhaps today I can actually do more. If I can't write it here on the computer I'll hand write it in my idea book then copy it over. Point is I just need to get it out of my head and into physical form. Speaking of idea books, I have three. All of them were lost. Hehe, that's also something that Dr. Mobius did. Wrote down his ideas so he woudln't forget them then forgot where he wrote them. Well I finally found all of them. Because of that instead of having all my ideas in one place they are scattered through three books. I need to decide on which one will be THE idea book. I have a bright green, bright pink and a phoenix book. I think I'll take Chris's advice and use the phoenix one because it has the most space left to write in. And just today I had the brilliant idea to use the pink one for my music ideas. Well I don't really have music ideas because I can't write original stuff. But I figure stuff out by eat and then I forget it. And watching my own videos doesn't help because I can't tell what someone's doing even if I look at their hands. So I'll just write down what I discover by ear in my book. That's better than having a bunch of loose papers that I've also lost over the months since I started playing bass. Haha, I almost wrote violin. As for the green idea book, I dont' know what I'll use it for. But I'm sure I'll eventually think of something.

I'll leave you guys with a video of my harvest of gourds. More to harvest after these though.

OH btw, the youtube custom color box changed and got upgraded which sucks. BUT the old one is still there Here. Custom youtube player. I need to update my sidebar.

That's it for now. I'm off the the pumpkin patch. I'll rest after that. I need to make another video of it. But no bending this time. I know better.

Note to self: Need to send out Halloween cards and edit bird photos.

A nice video! It was good to hear your voice and see all your different gourds so far. I like how they are hanging -- what a good idea, instead of laying on the ground. How unusual those long skinny ones are.

So sorry to hear you hurt your back. Hope it mends quickly.

I'm still here, but have been avoiding the computer a lot and concentrating on work. Hope to be back to normal and posting again by next week.

Thanks. I'm very happy with all the gourds I've gotten, though I'm a bit disapointed that my pumpkins are not doing so well. Those skinny ones I'm hoping will fatten up soon. They are luffa sponges so they need to get thicker still.

Thanks. I'm a bit better tonight. Perhaps one more day of rest, though I'm tried of being in bed.

Yeah I hope you come back too. Nice to see you here again.

That sucks about your back. My old supervisor turned in bed to switch off her light and did her back in. Badly. Even a small movement can mess it up. Backs are so delicate and once you've hurt them once, it seems to be easy to hurt them again.
I have a small idea folder for my books. I keep info about characters there and things like how they die and important things they do. It's very useful!
You have a nice gourd harvest.
Hehe my friend sent me some pumpkin spice Hershey's Kisses, have you tried those? They're really nice and cinnamony.

I remember the first time I hurt it. I was only 16. Upright human posture is so rediculous. Most mammals walk on four legs to avoide this and animals like birds a balanced. Hehe don't get me started on the bad anatomy design humans have. Flaws everywhere.

I think it's good to have a place for us to write that kind of stuff down so we don't forget and so we can keep things accurate.
Thanks. I'm happy with all the cute gourds I've gotten.
No I haven't seen those. I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

Aaagh! That's terrible that your back went out when you did a simple, innocent movement. I hope it mends soon.

I'm really impressed with that Luffa gourd. It must be one that fruits late.

That's a really good idea to put your music ideas in your pink book. The green book could be for gardening ideas (eg plans of garden beds) and maybe you could put your chicken coop ideas in it as well.

That's what bugs me the most. If I had been trying to pick up a heavy bag of birdseed I'd have been asking for it. But this was just normal motion. It's rediculous. Thanks. I'm on day three now and still not well, but better.

Well it was odd because it got severed from the main vine and put down roots under the bird feeders and started flowering. The main vine produced one female flower first and it died with no males. Then males and no females. Then it went and just produced huge vines and leaves. I didn't think I'd get anything. I was amazed when I saw this had flowers and then even more so when I saw it was severed.

Yeah that's a possibility. We'll see.

That's a good recovery of the vine! Though, they way it grew, I would not have been expecting anything, either. So, a bonus!

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that you hurt your back. It sounds like a painful strain.

Glad to hear you've been having fun on your game, though. Do you think you'll have more fun going through it killing everyone?
Des: Owen Marshthagirion on October 13th, 2011 02:16 pm (UTC)
Yeah, it's not good. Being down is the worst as I want to get out and do things.

Yes it's been a very fun game. No actually. I liked all the characters in this. They used to be people but now they're brains in floating robots with monitors. It's going to feel wrong but my curiosity is stronger than my feelings for them, and who better to do them in than Owen.
