New test and progress
I found an interesting test the other day. I enjoyed answering all the questions but don't put too much stock into it. It's called the Empathy Quotient vs the Systematic Quotient. This is a real study in psychology and the results are that women are more empathic and less systematic and men are the opposite. What this test is flawed is that it does not take into account women that are TJ's or very strong in one or the other. That means they did not test any ENTJ, INTJ, ESTJ or ISTJ females. I bet you sure as shooting females that are strong in these types would test the same as normal males with low empathy and high systematics. Another problem I have with this test is the number of questions. The empathy test only has around 40 questions while the systematics test has around 70. This means that the empathy test is less accurate. The number of questions should have been the same with both having 70. In statistics the larger the sample you take the more accurate it is a representation of the whole population. A small sample is bad because you might have sampled a few rares and project that over the whole which isn't the case. So just by the bad numbers in the question I don't trust this and I think that's part of the problem of why they think that basically these four types of females don't exist. Granted those four types are rare and females among them even rarer so they SHOULD have had more questions and sampled more before drawing conclusions. Anyway the test is abbreviated EQ/SQ and the results are displayed as such. Here's my result.

I'm proud of that. According to this I'm a male hehe. Wouldn't have it any other way. I think most INTJ's would test as extreme systemizers. INTP's would get a similar score but have a higher rating in empathy and lower in systemizing because they are P's and because they have Fe. Fe or "Feeling extrovert" is what allows you to read someone. All the types I listed above? We all have Fi or "Feeling introvert". We suck at reading other's emotions and we don't care. We're very blunt and it's more important to be truthful than sugar coat and spare feelings. Most of us hate that anyway. Chris's score since he's INTP confirmed my suspicions.

Still an extreme systemizer but not as much as I am and he's way more empathic than I am....as empathic as an NT can get hehe. So if you're curious Here is the link to the EQ/SQ tests. If you take it please let me know your results and your type. Well if you forget your type just ask me. I remember everyone here that's taken it and what you are. But really I just enjoyed answer the questions and laughing at the ones that were so true of me as my responses are usually very extreme either yes or no. In fact another thing that I think makes this test inaccurate is the "slightly agree" and "slightly disagree" options. WTF does that mean? To me "slightly agree" and "Slightly disagree" mean the same thing. For those few questions I wasn't sure because it depended on the situation I guessed and guessing throws off test results too. Though I don't think it would have changed my score much. I'd still be an extreme systemizer. So very fascinating.

I have a bunch of pictures to share today. I have great news that I finally have luffas growing! Don't know if you remember but in one of my videos I mentioned I was disapointed how the luffa grew so huge and even got into the trees but only produced leaves and no fruits? One piece got severed and started its own root system under the poll for the bird feeders. It kept going out over some debris I had lying around. So I took it off and just hung it from the shepherd's pole. I fertilized one of the flowers after fighting with the ants and it it became fertilized! I'll be getting at least one long luffa.

This is what the female flower of a luffa looks like. Notice the luffa behind the flower.

This is the one I pollinated. The flower fell off and now it's bigger.

This is what the flower looks like before it opens.

This is a budgie book marker I have. I found it while cleaning today. I don't use it because it's fragile and also because these types of book markers rip pages. But it was a budgie so I had to have it.

Found this too. A Henrietta hen. Hehe, well a Rhode Island Red that looks like my favorite chicken. It's very well made. I just need to find some brown paint to cover up that ugly white dot. Then she'll look just like Henrietta.

I'm very proud of myself. I basically have finished straightening up the living room now. I finally got rid of the worst that was there. I also got rid of the worst in our closet. For the first time since we moved here we can walk into our walk in closet. Chris has been great and helping me a lot. I have been wanting the mess cleaned for ages but when I start on something so big I tend to freak out because I'm overwhelmed at how impossible it seems to meet that goal. Doing it step by step alone seems like I'm not getting anywhere but I have to remind myself that I am. That's how ants move mountains...so to speak.

Oh almost forgot. October's a caffeine month. Woo hoo. But I won't go crazy like I did in July and get a hurt chest. Haven't had any real caffeine yet.
I'm not driving again. I swear something's always trying to keep me from it. My car's tag expired today. Freaking annoying. So I have to go to the place tomorrow and pay to have it renewed. It's the one thing I don't like about October...that and Columbus Day just because there's no mail and no banks.
So that's about it.

I'm absolutely not surprised by these results. They are typical autistic results. We suck even more than normal T's at emotional stuff. I know autistic F's exist, but they are pretty rare I think. A lot of the questions didn't have the real answer that I would put down though. I wish they had "don't care" as an answer, or "never been in that situation."

I don't think of you as autistic and I don't think T's suck at emotional stuff. Those confident in what they are have an advantage because feelings (theirs or anyone else's) don't get in the way. Be proud of your score. Besides it's not that much lower than mine. When I think of autistic or before the whole PC thing came around "retarded" I think of things like down syndrome. I don't know where you're looking but I think just as many F's if not more would be prone to this. It's not a personality flaw but a malformation of the brain that can hit anyone. Don't let anyone tell you because you're logical you're flawed. Please. You've got the Vulcan advantage.

For the ones that the example wasn't quite right you just substitue a mental example that's similar and keeps the question the same. For example the one about the plant names. To me that applies, to you most likely not. But change "plant" for "bird" and I'm sure you'd want to know if you saw birds you were unfamiliar with in a strange land to ID. Hence why I bought a field guide for my Bahamas trip. It's the same question. You just got to know how to mentally reword them. Hehe, yes there were a few that I could have responded with "I don't care".

Neat. That kind of makes sense.

What a beautiful flower the luffa gourd has!
I'm surprised that more people don't grow it just for the flowers.
Desthagirion on October 4th, 2011 01:18 am (UTC)
They're neat. Too bad they only last a day or two.
rhodielady_47 on October 4th, 2011 10:13 am (UTC)
Yes, but daylily flowers only last a day too and that's never stopped anyone from wanting them.

Hmmm...I don't think I did the test properly. I scored exactly the same for each one: 61. I think that makes me about average.

What an awesome thing a gourd flower is. So long and skinny. I'm glad one of your's got pollinated at last. I hope it makes it!

I think it's accurate being that you're an FP. Yeah just means your scores are even.

Yeah it's so neat. There were more this morning and every day the gourd is slightly longer.

Nice photos! Hehe the little Henrietta hen is cute!
I'm driving today. Only problem is I have to rush to the bank to get the money for it first.
Desthagirion on October 4th, 2011 01:20 am (UTC)
Thanks. Yeah she's a cutie.
I find it funny how when I can drive I rarely do and when I can't because I'm not allowed to for some reason I get the urge to go out everywhere.
