Got a few more plants
I've had a good time. I got another Nepenthes merrilliana in the mail from Botanical Wonders. The same place I got my first one. Here's hoping they're a pair. I'll be getting a Nepenthes truncata D from them soon too. They're giving me a good deal when they are quite expensive everywhere else. I'm very happy because truncata D is new and the first time I've seen a reddish orangeish truncata. Usually they're green with a red peristome.
I also got two new Sarracenaias. A rubra spp. gulfensis and a leucophylla Titan.

I got my new pressure cooker today too. I decided on the smaller one. The 12 quart Mirror.

I haven't tested it out yet but I already have a feeling it will work. It came with a little shelf to steam cans on and three weights so you can set the pressure to 5, 10 or 15 pounds pers square inch. Fifteen is what I need for mine sterilization. I'm down to 10 jars from my original 24. It's been really bad losses and I kind of have a feeling they're all going to go bad. It just sucks, but I also have a good feeling about the new technique. I can't wait to try it. Despite now having the pressure cooker I STILL can't start because I need little plastic test tubes to disinfect each batch simultaneously. The reason is I need to leave them in there for 12-24 hours. I only have one test tube and if I do that it would take me several days to make each batch. No way. So I'm waiting on a set of 25 test tubes to come in. So I have a good feeling about the new pot and the new technique. Hey you can't be a good Mad Scientist without set backs and revisions to the evil plan right? My plants will take over the world! BWA HA HA!...as soon as I figure out this formula.

I think it's funny that Chris has been playing Saint's Row 2 again in anticipation of the new game. But once it comes out I'm playing it first. Mine!

Other than that not much else to say. I've just been busy doing stuff and having fun.

Thanks.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. The creation engine will be different this time but I hope it will be as good as it was in art 2. I'll be happy if I can make Cope and Thanatos the same way again.

You can't be a mad scientist without lots of test tubes!

Good luck with all of your new plants. You have quite the Nepenthes collection going now.

Have fun with your Mad Scientist setup! Where did you order the test tubes from?

Thanks. I gave a few to a friend but my collection is definitely growing. It's very exciting.

Thanks, I will. I got them from Ebay. There's a seller there named Madison Laboratory Equipment which is funny because to fit as a screen name he shortened it to Madlaboratory. I love it. Here's the link

As far a tissue culture stuff itself I've been buying my chemicals and supplies from Home Tissue Culture. They had the testubes too. They're better because they're flat bottomed. But they're more espensive so I got them from Mad Lab because they come with the styrafoam rack even thought they are pointy for centrifuge.
