Snake problems
I'm mad at myself. Last time I caught a corn snake I put it in a critter cage, with a rock on top in the bathroom. It was late last night and I wasn't thinking straight because I was sleepy. I didn't do that and the snake got out. No luckily no one got eaten but I still haven't found the snake. It's somewhere in the house. Great. I've got a bird killer loose in the house. I've got Protist, Peep, Seep Seep, Randy and another budgie as indoor pets. Randy's not really in danger I don't think. He's too big. I'm also hoping this snake it too big to get into the bars as it did seem bigger than the last one. But who knows when we'll find it. It could be days before we find it. So this is annoying.

Not much got accomplished today. I put stuff away in a clear bin and cleaned out one of the cabinets. I only want to keep stuff in the house that I use. Then after that I watched a bunch of Captain Planet cartoons. I almost got through disk two. Two more disks to go. I hope season 2 will come out soon. I want that now.

I got my first venus flytrap today. Well my first one in ages now that I know what I'm doing. It's a special kind called B52. This is the biggest variety with 2 inch traps. Flytraps are small so 2 inches is big. Mine's a baby and not full sized yet.

I love how red the insides of the mouths are. I hope mine will get huge. The one on the right is closed after I took the pic so it ate something.
I put it out in a tray of water and it already caught something. I didn't see it but the trap was open one moment then closed the next time I went out. So it's in with my sarracenia. I do plant to tissue culture it since flytraps are supposed be easy to tissue culture and it would be a good one to start with. But not for a while. Need more jars and a pressure cooker.

I think I've uploaded all my budgie art to Flickr now.

Darn on the snake getting out. This happened to me once. I was visiting me eldest daughter with most of my other kids when a snake came along to try to eat their ferrets (they lived in another state, we are not allowed to have them here). So, they asked me to catch the snake, which I did. I put it in a bag and tied the top pretty tight, I thought. I planned on taking it on a little trip the nest day (they lived in rainforest), I was going to take it just up the road (it was all rainforest). Well, the darned snake got out somehow. But the next night or the one after that it was back, so I caught it again and took it for a ride right there and then. I hope you find that snake soon or it 'runs' away after such a frightening experience. I know they don't usually go away, though, because they're HUNGRY! I hope it doesn't get any of your budgies.

You got Venus Flytrap. Yay! They are dear to my heart :) I love how some of their mouths are red, heh, heh :)

We still haven't found him. I know you've dealt with snakes a lot so I'm sure you can relate. I've read that if you own snakes you WILL have an escape one day. When I used to have garters one got out and I was freaking out over it. I was worried. But luckily we found him and there was more stuff then. I'm glad you found yours.

Aw, I forgot you like flytraps. I'm very happy to have this rare variety. Even happier that now I know how to take care of them.

Oh dear, I hope you can find it.
I used to have venus flytraps when I was a kid. They were so interesting to watch. I used to catch flies and feed them to them.

Yeah me too.
That's the fun of having carnivorous plants is feeding them. I'll try to catch little gnats and feed one.

Oh no, i hope you find that snake soon, before it gets anyone! They are indeed amazing escape artists. My garters were pretty hard to keep contained too. Fortunately, it didn't matter too much if they got out (since i caught some of them loose in my house to begin with).

I found your art on Flickr, including some new ones i hadn't seen yet. Gotta love the badass budgie, hehe.

Oh, that's a lovely flytrap! I had one of those once too - yes, it also died. -_- Not this variety though...just one of the little guys. This one is really pretty.

Thanks. He's definitely well hidden. I'm trying to come up with an idea to make a trap for him to go into.

Oh good, I'm glad you were able to see everything. Once you're on the photostream part it's pretty well organized. Hehe, yeah that's my logo on my youtube music channle.

Thanks. I'm very happy with it. Flytraps are tricky. They are outdoor plants and need full sun and to be submerged in water since they are bog plants. Most people think they are house plants but they can't be kept indoors. They also need a dormancy period because they get mild winters. They're native to North Carolina.

I hope your birds stay safe. Good luck finding the snake again before anything happens!

Your fly traps are really cool. The red mouths make them look so vicious.

Yeah, this snake has really been trouble.
Thanks. I love how vibrant they are. They look like flowers.

I hope you catch that snake. I don't want anything to happen to the pet birds.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm doing what I can. I'm going to start to move stuff out of the way except for heavy furniture.
