So much stuff in the works.
Wow, everytime I look at the the thumb nail of my new drawing I'm very impressed. It sure does look like a cartoon. I'm amazed I draw this stuff sometimes and am very proud of myself and thankful for my talent. Can't wait to make another one. I'm working on something easier, at least I hope it will be easier and I should be done with it possibly tomorrow.

Chris has been great. He found the Captain Planet DVD's in a store and bought them for me though he hates the show. I've watched most of Disk one already and am loving it. I watch them when he's not around so I don't bug him. Hee hee, the show is really cheesey now and I don't know how we don't notice these things as kids. I was in highschool when this came out and had jumped on the environmental band wagon and was having so much fun. The show is so colorful and the art is really nice...usually. As a biologist I'm still picky about how they draw animals and I've seen some bad mistakes. The people are drawn great but the animals kind of suck. The episode with the elephants was terrible art wise for animals. I wish I still had power DVD so I can make screen caps. My old version I have a CD of doesn't work with Windows 7.

I cleaned the frog tank because it majorly needed it and put some of my Nepenthes in there. Mainly I put the northina in there because it needs the high humidity and this might help it recover. It's not doing so well. Well originally the plan was to let Jeremiah go into the little pond so I could have bullfrogs singing. I don't think that's a good idea anymore and realize I can't raise anymore frogs. Why? My chickens kill and eat any frog or toad they can get their beaks on. I fear even a big bullfrog would not be safe unless I had a bigger pond. That really sucks. I love the sound of deep bullfrogs. That means I'm going to have to find a home for her too. I could keep her but I'd rather not as I want to use the space on that wall for nepenthes. I want to focus on propigating them and setting up a bug lab and a growing rack for tissue culture.

Oh speaking of which I ordered the caps for the baby food jars. Next week I'll order the ingredients I need to make the agar. I'm very excited about this. But I also need to make a hood so I can disinfect the seeds. Would be so cool to grow and clone my own nepenthes.

Is that the drawing you did in your icon? If so, awesome!

Yeah, the chickens are hard on frogs around here too :(

It would be amazing to watch you grow your own Nepenthes.

I did draw my icon but I was talking about the most recent drawing I made Driving the Devil. I'm working on smething else still.

I have noticed fewer frogs in the yard. But at least most of them were Cuban tree frogs.

I know, I'll be so happy to have my first sprout and have it survive.

Yeah you did do a professional job on that last picture!
I watch old shows I thought were so well drawn when I was a kid and now I laugh and know I can draw better than them.
Its a shame you need to get rid of the frogs.

Thanks. Yeah it turned out nice.

I know. I wonder why things seem so good as a kid and we don't notice they aren't. I do love the feeling that I can do better though it's also disapointing.
Yeah, I'll miss her. Wish I could have more frogs but chickens are predators too.

Captain Planet! He's a hero! Gonna take pollution down to zero!

Sorry, couldn't help myself. ;)

I used to watch Captain Planet all the time, too. Like you, I liked the overall save the environment message behind the show and thought the characters were well drawn and visually pleasing.

And I loved Captain Planet's super-corny puns. They were so bad that you had to groan and laugh at the same time.

The song is catchy. Gotta love it!

They human characters are very well drawn and colored. It's funny because I find myself analyzing the colors and sometimes miss the dialog and then I get annoyed with myself.

I've always liked those types of kids jokes since I was little so I never thought they were bad. I enjoy the witty play on words.

I remember watching Captain Planet and liking it. Now, I think "how the heck?" since Ted Turner is a super liberal Anti-American envirowack, and if you know what to look for in the cartoons you can see that. Example: See how many times one of the other planeteers has to explain stuff to Wheeler. Now I would just watch it to make fun of it. Of course, when I was a kid I didn't notice squat.

I wonder if our bullfrog will come back. That stinks that you can't keep yours.

I just thought it was because Wheeler was an impulsive kid that acts without thinking. I still love the show despite the politics behind it. It's entertaining. And the villains are so funny because no one would willingly go around trying to destroy the earth. That would be kill themselves.

I hope so. They're such nice little froggies. Yeah, I'm going to have to find something to do with her. Poor frog.
