New tires
My car is fixed!! I'm so happy right now. Well mostly fixed. About 75% of the way there which is way better than it was. I cleaned off the windshield this morning then took him out to the tire place. I fixed the rearview mirror yesterday with the kit I bought at the auto store. Fixed it right up. It was a little more expensive than I thought with the alignment, but I had a coupon for $25 off. I was going to walk home but luckily one of the employees gave me a ride. I live five minutes form the store so it was good. I waited for them to call me as I was ready to walk back out there to go pick it up. But they never did. So I called around 5pm and asked how my car was. They were surprised no one had called me but it was done. I called Chris and he was on his way home so I just waited for him and then we went to go pick up my car.

We went halfsies on it. They told me my car is in good condition actually so that's always good to hear. It was funny because the guy that rang me out was different than the guy that helped me in the morning and when he brought my envelope out he goes, "Two keys?" "Yeah, one for the doors and one for the ignition. They don't make cars that way anymore I guess." My car is a 1993. I told them what my plans were to fix it up and that I love my car very much. He's never let me down and why he's the only car I've ever owned and got him when he was brand new. Everyone was shocked by that and go, "Wow you're the original owner?" Yes. I guess that's pretty rare these days as well. I told them I've had opportunties to sell him in exchange for a new car but always refused. My mother even once tried to make me get rid of him by tempting me with a new Mercedez. Yes tempting but still the answer was no. I've even had people come up to my door and ask if my car is for sale. GET LOST! No he's not for sale! My gosh, do you know how hard it is for some people to sell their cars and I don't even have a sign on my mine and people ask me that. It used to happen at the old house too. Once I clean the garage I'm hiding him so no one can see. The next door neighbors have had a corvette stingray for sale with a sign for months and it hasn't gotten sold. No sign on mine and I need to keep people away.

But yes, apart from regular wear and tear maintenence (tires, battery, whipers etc) I've never had to replace anything on my car, it's never broken down or given out on me. That's one of the big reasons I won't get rid of him. I'm loyal to him and he's loyal to me. I can trust my car. My next order of business was to fix the AC, but now it's not. The cieling is actually hanging down quite badly and covering my rearview mirror. I can't drive like that. At least not for stuff I need to see behind me. So even though it's fixed now I still can't go driving. I asked where I could take it to have that done. One of the guys there said he could do it himself for around $75. That's great!! He asked what color I wanted. I decided to just stick with the tan color for now and keep it factory style. I actually want dark red, but that's later when I can change all the seats and dashboard. If I only did the cieling in red now it would look really bad with everything else in brown. That's one of those cosmetic things I DO want to change but isn't priority. But as of now it is a safety issue so I want to keep it simple. THEN I want to fix the AC which I don't think will be that much. It works but it just needs to be recharged with freeon. Hopefully there's no leak and that's all it needs. It will be so nice to save up for the nice stuff later. New paint job being the most obvious. I'll keep him factory black too because then I'd have to change his name and I don't want to do that to my Black Sunshine. Oh and I drove it up to 55 mph and no shaking! I was right! I was right! It wasn't an engine problem it was just the tires and alignment.

After that Chris and I went to eat at the Chinese restrant. We asked the lady how she liked her eggs and she loved them and wants another dozen! Awesome! So once I fix my car again, I can drive out and give her some more. I'm glad I have a pretty steady customer then. Sigh, it's annoying that my car works now but technically I still can't drive it. I need to check my funds and instead of waiting until Friday I may have enough to go ahead and do it now because I want to be out doing stuff again.

My chickens have been naughty. Henrietta has been taking Zucca and Raptor into the front yard. They aren't allowed because there's no fence and I don't want them going in the road or a neighbor's yard. So I'm going to have to set up a temporary chicken wire fence to keep them in.

And slightly disapointing news. My green pumpkin rotted. I put it outside and will let it rot naturally. That explains why so many flies were in the house. All the maggots were in it. I was going to use it for a pie. Well that sucks. But I can keep the seeds at least. And I think one of my silk tree seeds sprouted. I don't know how the seed got above the soil but it had a little root tail. I'm going to have to add more soil to it and stir it up as it may be too hard for the root to penetrate.

So anyway, yes I'm in a very good mood right now.

That's great about your car but a shame about the pumpkin. I will be carving mine on Saturday. My house is damp so I fear for it but I keep it in a cool dry place so it should be alright.

Naughty chickens XD

Yes, it was so nice to drive again. So much to do now.
Me too. That way they will still be good for Halloween on Sunday.

That's great that your car is basically fixed. I hope you can get the ceiling done soon. It's wonderful that you have kept your car and looked after it. He will be worth a lot in time if you keep him and do him up. I like the red upholstery idea A LOT. It will be great to have your independence again, too.

Naughty chookies. But you are fencing them in for their own good. That's great that you have a regular customer for their eggs now.

That's a pity about your green pumpkin, but hopefully you can grow lots of them next hot season!

Yeah. I've taken good car of it and it's only been in the last two years I kind of neglected it. But I'm working to fix all that up now.

Yeah, I don't want them going out to the front for their own good.

Yeah, there's still time for me to find some, but I'm sure that pumpkin patch has pretty much been ransacked.
